George Hill Timber  Reviews

Great delivery thanks Ben. Appreciate all the effort to get it all to me.

Just been to the Sale branch. Got exactly what I needed with the lads cutting the timber to size as well. Unbeatable prices also, would thoroughly recommend.

Brilliant service from start to finish.
Before ordering, I spoke with Kevin at the Oldham branch to discuss my requirements. Kevin was polite and extremely helpful. I placed my order via the website and emailed Kevin as agreed to confirm the sizes I needed things cut to and also to confirm a Saturday delivery. Kevin confirmed back and was great throughout.
My delivery came this morning in good time. The delivery chap was brilliant, very polite and helped me bring everything from the Lorry to a convenient place for me to be able to sort more easily. He had to park away from the house and so his help was both invaluable and very much appreciated. This is my first time ordering from George Hill and I will go back to them as my experience has been great from start to finish and I wish more companies were like this. So 5 stars from me and a massive thank you to both Kevin and the delivery chap. Absolutely spot on! 👌

Shout out for Ben at the Bolton depot, he's a credit to George Hill. Polite and did what he said he would do. A refreshing change! Thank you

Brian and Dave from the branch in Sale, Glebelands Road, were brilliant. After patiently listening to what we needed, Dave suggested some mouldings. He subsequently found exactly what we wanted to panel our dining room and helped cut the materials down to the desired width. Great and quick service. Thoroughly recommend.

Always friendly, helpful and professional service. Great range of stock at good price.

Ordered some timber at the weekend and got an email on Monday morning to say it was ready to collect. The guy cut the long bits to the length I requested so they would fit in my vehicle. He was polite and helpful. The whole site was tidy and well maintained. This was a good experience compared to any other timber or builders merchant I've used. Wish I knew about them before. The timber was good quality unlike the rubbish I've often got elsewhere.

From making the order to delivery the service I received was great . Staff on the phone were extremely helpful and professional

On delivery of my items staff again were extremely helpful and professional . They really helped me

Would highly recommend this company and will definitely use them again

As a company we have used George Hills for years, always reliable with deliveries, communication is a breeze and the material is top quality. Special mention to Gordon who is always friendly and informative with a great knowledge for the products they have.

Emanuel Whittaker and George Hill have worked together for decades, they have supplied us with good quality materials at competitive prices over the years.
All Staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable.
Nothing is too much trouble and Gordy's sense of humour and willingness to assist never wains.
We look forward to many more years trading together.

Very Friendly staff, very knowledgeable with all products and materials, have a well stocked yard and shop of building and joinery products.
also very proactive on dealing with products and sourcing products they do not carry in stock

We would Highley recommend using

Used George Hills for years , always very friendly and helpful staff , generally got everything in stock we need and if not get it in for you within a day or two and their prices are cheaper than the other local merchants.

I've been using George Hill for timber for years. Yes, you can get timber elsewhere, and it is a competative market, but I have found that GH exceed their competitors in a number of ways:

1. Friendliness, helpfulness and general all round Customer Service: The lads on the counter, the folk on the phone and the delivery guys are all top notch and are always pleased to help.
2. Quality of timber: I've had loads of timber and have always been happy with the quality of the goods.
3. Cost: Quality comes at a cost, but the cost is comparable with competition - and you don't always get the consistency and quality from them.
4. Value for money: To be able to call, text or email and know that you are going to get what you want without any fuss or mither is worth a lot.

Overall: Top notch and I would heartily recommend George Hill!!

I have been coming here for all my timber for well over 40 years. Always the best service from everyone, especially Ben and the lads in the timber sales.
