Would give a - star if I could. I’ve been trying to avoid giving a negative review about this company and just trying to forget the whole experience because I was just so annoyed. However I keep getting calls from them and it’s getting super annoying!!!
The whole thing started after I was contacted that I was 2nd place in some Facebook competition and though I didn’t get a free holiday which was advertised, would get it heavily discounted. I stupidly agreed and made a payment of around £90. Then coming to the point to book the holiday, I was given 4 months to use the deal. But then had to pay over a £100 extra to actually book somewhere as no where was available for the £90. In addition, I requested a king double room because myself, husband and baby were going. I got given a double room and told it was the same thing. I specifically wanted the king double, which is what I paid for, because the room was bigger in size for us three. Anyway, cut long story short, we didn’t go on the holiday because it just wasn’t worth the hassle after going back and forth with the customer service. If you promise a customer something, you really should pull through! Wasn’t offered a refund or anything. Wasn’t even told they couldn’t find something which met my initial booking. Just got told the room was the same. Well it’s not a free holiday so you really should just give me what I wanted.
Now, over a month down the line they still keep calling me asking for next booking etc. I’ve asked please stop calling me, I won’t be using this company again. I’ve blocked 3 of their numbers now but they still keep finding new numbers to call me with.

I paid for 2 nights getaway and for the whole year I tried to book somewhere for any month or anywhere I was told fully booked not enough hotel rooms till year passed and my voucher expired.
Know they have the nerve to contact me and tell me we want to do an upgrade for you as we have more hotels available they tuck £82 of me and I never received anything back STAY AWAY !!!!
How they can do this and get away with it I don’t understand

A TOTAL SCAM

Knew it was too good to be true after entering a competition on insta I was contacted about a runners up prize of a discounted vouch, which I stupidly brought. The expiry date is 1st Aug so wanted to use it june/July time. Been told today they are only taking bookings for Aug now (12/06/23) so my voucher isn't valid anymore. Said there is over 6 weeks for me to use this, otherwise what's the point in an expiry date. Get the feeling there just after your money, come up with ways around extending voucher or upgrading. I shall be reporting then to trading standards

An outright scam. I entered a competition by britishescapes.co.uk on Instagram and a couple of days later was called by Sam saying I had not won main prize but was a runner up and she wanted me to pay £46 per person to book a 2 night stay using a fake website getawaysuk.com Then a guy called Ben took over the call to pressure me into booking but I'm glad I didn't. I too like one of the previous reviewers on here rang one of the bed and breakfast places listed on the site and they had never heard of them nor had any association with them. Be careful out there folks! It's definitely a scam.

Received a call because I entered an online competition. The lady on the phone was going through the steps with me and expected me to book straight away while talking on the phone lol.

Beware of the scam.

Just come back from the Hampton by Hilton in Edinburgh for my partners birthday and it perfect.
Was a bit weary as never heard of getaways before but took a leap of faith and it worked wonders!
Hotel was clean and we even got some chocolates on the pillows as we said it was a birthday celebration.
Only issue we had was the parking as we couldn't reserve it before and one of the days had to park just infront but apart from that was a brilliant stay !!

I entered a competition on instagram to win a 2 night break. Since then I have received daily phonecalls and voicemails to try to get me to buy a 2 night break 'offer.'

The hotels on the website are 'example hotels' and the hotels they show have no clue they are associated with the website. I contacted one of the hotels and they emailed me 'We have no affiliation with Get Aways UK and believe this is a scam.'

The price offer price of £229 is more than some hotels if you booked direct.

I phoned to ask the company number and they would not give me it, or let me speak to a manager. The website was created in December 2022. They also have no links to social media from their website.

In the T&Cs on the website they state:
'When you return from your break, a member of the marketing team will contact you via telephone. They will provide you with information about their latest holiday offers/promotions as well as ask you for your feedback with regards the booking process and about your stay at the hotel. Although there is no obligation to take up any offer made, you are obligated to take the call. Failure to do so will result in you paying the full rental cost of your accommodation'

So they will essentially con more money out of you after you go on a break with them.
