Absolutely awful company. Delayed for 17hours and only got £20 for each member of my family. This is nowhere near enough to cover the cost of hotel and other expenses we needed to pay out for an extra night due to the flight delay.
Terrible communication too. Only went with them because money supermarket gave them a decent review.

One star is generous! Our flights were delayed over 17 hrs with two special needs children! We out in our claims and evidence immediately and they took forever to respond when they did they seem to find loop holes to get out of paying out. We went back and forth for 3 months going through their t&cs for them only to pay out £100 for a family of 5 . We used the last of our saving to book a last min hotel which was £1000 plus to eat and drink during this time! They did not honour their policy and left us having to borrow money from our family! Absolutely disgusting service. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Absolutely awful experience. I bought this as the reviews on Money Supermarket were positive, so lesson learnt! I have put a claim almost a one month ago. I could not see it on their system for weeks, when it eventually got uploaded it asked for more details. I have added it immediately. It's now 5 days later and the additional info is still not showing. I have been emailing them daily - no response. They texted me (misspelled my name!) to ask to submit more details, so no idea if my submission just went nowhere? Awful experience - STAY CLEAR

Total waste of time and money, avoid like the plague. Booked multi trip insurance and tried to contact for advice on day of travel but no-one ever returned my call. Appealed against decision not to refund any monies and pointed out that no-one had ever contacted me but they said advice line was only in emergencies, despite their documents saying their medical advice can overrule your own doctor. Dread to think what would have happened if we had travelled and needed help as needed multiple GP and hospital visits during the time we should have been on holiday and would likely have had to shoulder the cost of the trip plus all medical expenses. As it is I have no compensation for the holiday and have wasted the money to buy this insurance. This is insurance is not worth anything other than a pdf via email, which promises things it does not deliver.

Make up dates and times, lie and take forever to answer. Needs to be dissolved

My experience with them was absolutely terrible. During our last trip, our flight was delayed, so we contacted them expecting the cover we had paid for. Instead, we were told that the delay wasn’t covered by our policy. That was a huge disappointment and completely defeated the purpose of having travel insurance.

To make matters worse, they’re now offering me a 20% discount to renew my policy, as if that makes up for their poor service. Rather than looking after existing customers, they seem more interested in getting people to renew.

In my experience, this company is quick to sell cheap insurance but far less willing to help when you actually need to make a claim. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to read the policy carefully and consider other insurers before buying. I certainly won’t be using them again.

Had to do multiple reports as they’ve changed the dates I paid for asked 3times in same email thread the dates which i constantly gave but no luck will up date contact my name on socials if sames happened to you there are people getting together to show a big enough case and more the merrier

Please never use this company. You won’t get your payout and they will take months to come back to you.
I honestly think the company might be scammers with a holding website.
Pay a little extra and go with a reputable company.

Got stuck on a motorway for over 2 hours and missed our flight (we were ten minutes from the airport when it happened) but because our car wasn't in the accident or the cause of it they decided not to pay us anything at all. Utter scam. What made matters worse is that they took well over a month to get back to us at all - despite us filing all relevant information on the day it happened. So we had no holiday, no refund and this insurance was essentially worthless. Awful company - AVOID.

The worst I've ever experienced, absolutely awful. Please never take out a policy with this company, they will string you on for weeks even after 'accepting' your claim and never pay, worst customer service ever giving you fake promises.

Absolutely awful. Avoid at all costs. They drag out your case and you cannot speak to a claim handler. We are reporting to ombudsman now as they are awful service.

No reply to emails. Would not recommend.

They don't cover anything! You can't even drive a car abroad or do any simple activities. There's no option to add any on, and they won't refund. I wish I'd read the reviews, complete waste of money... Don't waste your money. Choose a better company.

Worst experience. They will drag your case so long that you will get frustrated and finally leave the hope. Don't recommend it to anyone.

I strongly advise against purchasing travel insurance from GetAwayCover or their administrator, IMG. My experience with them has been incredibly stressful and ultimately a waste of money.
I returned from my trip on 12th August and discovered that both of my suitcases were broken. In the rush of getting home, I didn't notice the damage until I arrived. I reported the claim to the insurance company immediately.
The issues I faced:
• Delayed Communication: Despite reporting it immediately, it took them over 3 days to respond to my initial contact just to ask for more details.
• The "48-Hour" Trap: After months of back-and-forth communication, they finally declined my claim. The reason? They required a Property Irregularity Report (PIR) from the airline within 48 hours.
• Impossible Requirements: Because IMG took more than 3 days to reply to my initial report, by the time I knew I needed a specific PIR, the 48-hour window with the airline had already closed.
• Poor Administration: IMG is extremely slow to respond and seems to look for any technicality to decline a legitimate claim.
This company will waste your time and leave you more stressed than when you started. If you want an insurance provider that actually helps when things go wrong, look elsewhere. Do not buy from GetAwayCover or IMG.

i took travel insurance with this company. I lost my luggage and had a police report. I produced all receipts however they would come back with excuses to avoid paying up. The lesson i learnt from this is never go with these small companies as they look for reasons not to pay up. never again

I had a very simple claim for a doctor's appointment in Spain. I provided all the information that was required online, and the company sends you an automated response and never replies to you. The claim number idea was given for the website. It never worked, so it was impossible to check on the status of my claim, and it's impossible to contact the company in any way other than their contact form. Do not use this company. I've had to accept the loss on my insurance because they're not going to pay you. They've made it impossible to contact them.

This travel insurance is a nightmare to deal with. My broken luggage claim has taken months, and every update takes over two weeks to process. The claims process is overly complicated, making it very difficult to actually get paid. I would not recommend this company.
