Dreadful customer care, morally bankrupt - SHAME on you, GROUPE SEB/TEFALTEFAL
I bought a Tefal sandwich maker which was advertised as a 10 year repairable product. Confident I would get a good service life from it, I also bought several sets of interchangeable plates amounting to some significant expense overall.
Barely 4 years old, it needs replacement elements - no problem I thought, get them online (10 year repairable product) fit them (I'm a qualified electrician) and off we go again.
However, I couldn't find them on line, all listed obsolete on the various spares sites, so emailed Tefal customer care requesting spares availability. Actually took 2 mails to get the answer that they were available but not to consumers.
Another mail suggested I contact their service centre, but the service centre they gave me a number for doesn't deal with repairs from N Ireland, although part of the UK.
My next mail requesting a copy of their complaints procedure was ignored, as was another one requesting confirmation of escalation of my problem to management (as their complaints procedure, which I eventually found online under Groupe SEB, not Tefal, states should happen).
A further 2 emails to the Tefal UK CEO - Mr W Yates - requesting help both went totally unacknowledged - clearly this total disdain for customers works from the top down.
At this point I have a repairable product which Tefal, far from honouring their 10 year repairable product advertising, are effectively preventing me from repairing.
Overall, one of most appalling customer care services I have come across, from a company which obviously couldn't care less about it's customers or their problems.
Would not recommend anyone to buy any Tefal appliances after discovering just how low an opinion they have of their customers.
