They randomly removed my ad listing. Completely gone. They ask me to re-make it but they don't tell me why it is removed. Also, they don't give me the original listing so I can't even copy and paste the old information I took so long to write out. What a waste of time. They owe me money for wasting my time!

The app does not work. I think Gumtree should fold... Or be folded! Totally 'Mickey Mouse' and irresponsible online platform.

Had it's day. Now, cannot compete.

DO NOT USE THIS APP- it is full of scammers and the app does nothing to support/protect their users. They don’t verify who join the app nor help you when you ended up scammed. They only tell you to go to the police, which will do absolutely nothing as well as scammers can register with fake details and there is no way to find them back.
Many other apps use protection for users and control payment methods only allowing it through the app.
Gumtree is around since decades and still is a out-to-date app.

Every time I advertise my car that I'm selling, the advert is removed for no reason. What I'm I selling, contraband??? To make matters worse there isn't any customer service you can talk or chat to they've now put chats are unavailable!! Sweet!!!! Absolutely waste of my time I'm getting off it and advising people not to ever use it. I'd rather use other platforms. I used to love gumtree however this has changed completely. What a shame.

A potential buyer (Yeah Right) accepted my offer price with no quibble or haggle. We swapped contact details agreed the time and place. At my old age, why am I so naive?

Next time I have something to dispose of it goes to charity or waste recycling.

Absolutely rubbish and shit place to sale your item or stuffs, or in the other words pay there fee for selling your stuff put the add and just forgot it ,trust me you will never get any kind of call or message about your selling stuff,
Strongly not recommend Gumtree, and advise to others don't waste your time and money,

At one time - a long time ago - you could post an ad on this platform with relative ease. Then Gumtree started dictating how much you could charge for what you wanted to sell. The final straw came when, presumably, because I did not follow their pricing dictates, my current ad was refused because, "we believe that this ad is offering something that we do not accept on Gumtree".

Well, that's it folks, Gumtree has become another Trump and will dictate what you sell and at what price you sell it at. I did check, by the way, and, guess what, they did list a similar product. Fortunately, there are a wealth of ethical sites out there and perhaps I will avoid the amount of scammers which Gumtree now seem to have attracted.

This site is full of scammers and they take your money without sending off the goods as advertised lost thousand on this website as its owned by e.bay you would of thought they'd be better buyer protections in place. Do not buy items on this site if you expect the seller to post them just not gonna happen they keep your cash and customer service is a joke. There have been alot of cases as spoke to trading standards where as the buyer don't actually have the item they are selling uploading pics from Google to scam people out there hard earnt cash. Please be wary and if the seller not local to your area don't buy as you're not gonna get the item nor the cash back. This site should be fully investigated by the police as it is fraud at the end of they day and those seller who are responsible know who they are and should be held account for there action fined in prison or both.

I paid £60 for a pet advert that’s been stuck in “Under Review” for days with no explanation. I followed all rules and have done nothing wrong. Gumtree’s support system is broken — my emails are bouncing and there’s no way to get help. I’m a genuine, verified seller and this is unacceptable. I just want the ad I paid for or a refund. Very disappointed.

Edited from 1 to 4 stars after I received response and ads were reinstated after a few helpful emails from Gumtree. Have since sold a few items. Only downside is the ridiculously low offers some people send (but that's not Gumtrees fault).

Only gave one star as zero wasn't an option. Used a few years ago and had no problems, and would actually have recommended them, however it seems to be now literally a waste of time. I spent a couple of hours taking photos and posting items. One item went on fine yesterday, received confirmation and had several views logged. Went on to post more today, all of which were fine and received confirmation of posting emails for all except one that seemed to be on stuck on 'processing' so after a couple of hours decided to repost it in case there was an issue. Every single one of my 6 current posts have "ad has been removed". No explanation, no message. Looked on the help section (which is no help whatsoever) and it states that an email would explain the issue. It states you can repost at any time so tried one, it was removed immediately.
If there's an issue with my profile, then let me know. Don't just let people wonder what the problem is and spend ages trying to get in touch with you (and definitely don't set expectations about sending out communications when you have no intentions of doing so).

Not even a poor man’s e-Bay. Seems to be used by time wasters predominantly who ask “is it still available” followed by radio silence or “what condition is it in” which is followed by radio silence when you tell them to read the description and look at the pictures, and BTW “IT’S FREE”. One the plus side despite the website needing some revamping it is easy to advertise and I did shift my 3 piece suite when the guy eventually turned up 6 hours late. Have closed my account.

I do not like gumtree everytime i sell something people dont turn up or waste your time basically, not happy

We like Gumtree overall and sell quite a few bits & pieces on there, however, we believe it has two MAJOR flaws.
1. If someone does not show up, in order to warn other sellers, we will give a 1* review stating that. The buyer will then often just reciprocate with a 1* review saying 'Rude'. Gumtree are unable and / or unwilling to do anything about this.
2. If you have several things listed and go on holiday, you have to delete EVERYTHING, then, when you return, you have to Repost EVERYTHING. That is a time consuming task, especially when the items you have deleted are not necessarily the first to appear in the 'inactive' list. Would it be such an enormous task to incorporate a 'pause, or away' button like other platforms?

Poor customer interface. Seems it has dated technology.

To the people that runs this I want to know why that people place ads that says free yet they are not.
To be honest am sick of reporting this and nothing gets done.

I have had abuse when I’ve replied to a ad that says free yet they said it’s for sale for money.
How can you run this company like it things have to change if not I’ll take my ads down.
Something needs to be changed if it’s free then both title and price box shout match or it don’t work

Messages not loading on Gumtree App. Deleted app and reloaded it and still no messages. Just a message saying try again later. Can get messages on google log in but not on the app. Do not ever send anything until you have been paid. PayPal payments only. And then tell buyers they have to pay you the £1 insurance fee, PayPal charge you. I’ve seen a few people send their items without receiving payments first 🙄

Would give it 0 stars. Gumtree itself kept taking down my ads and when i emailed them they accused me of being a letting agent. Told them i was a private Landlord but they didnt allow me to post any ads even after i paid £60 for the month. They steal your money!!!

This rubbish Gumtree posted an ad for my cat because I put down kitty there removed my ad this rubbish and paid 1pound…… so I put another post cats again there removed my ad for putting down cats this f ? Joke my 2 pound back you f ?and shame to this rubbish company

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience. I encountered an issue involving a false reviews, and when I reached out for support, I was told there was no way to dispute, edit, or remove it. It’s unacceptable that the platform allows inaccurate reviews to remain with no accountability or proper resolution process.

This not only affects users unfairly but also damages the integrity of the platform itself. I expected better systems in place for fairness and transparency, but unfortunately, that was not the case.
