Pool chlorinator has once again packed it in this will be my third replacement with none of them making it over 18 months. Have spent the last 6 weeks trying to get a replacement or information out of Hayward as the original installers no longer deal with them (maybe a reason for that)

If you need warranty work done save your time and just pay for it out of pocket. Hayward makes it very difficult to make a claim and nobody knows what the hell they’re doing. Even the dealer I’ve talked to hate doing business with them. Do not buy a Hayward. Plus the warranty sucks anyway. 5 yrs on parts. 2 yrs on labor. The labor is the most expensive. Parts are not costing them squat. There’s Built Right in Punta Gorda FL which is way better quality, thousands $$$ cheaper with a 5 yr parts and 5 yrs labor warranty. Thats a no brainer. YOU WERE WARNED!!! DO NOT BUY A HAYWARD pool pump or pool heater

Pool Scouts, authorized Hayward dealer, sold me a new system with OmniPL controller, new filter, new heaer, new salt generator, new wisper quiet pumps. BUT just 13 months later, the system just stopped. After 4 days I still can't get Hayward to authorize the warranty repair. I've been on the phone with 4o or 5 different people, including a Hayward tech. No help, they said it was an outdated configuration file, but after upgrading the firmware, the problem continues. Pool is starting to turn GREEN. Don't buy Hayward!

Our pool is approx 8 years old. We have experienced problems with the control board several times and had them replaced. For this entire swim season (2026) our local Pool Company has been trying to work with Hayward on troubleshooting several issues with our pool. Foremost we have maintained the water with chlorine tabs this whole season when we have a salt water system. Both my Pool Company and I have reached out to Hayward with minimal response/help. May be checking into the cost to convert to a different brand of controller/pumps.

Hayward customer service is worse than one star which is the minimum. They do that so individuals why from amazon where you only get a 1 year warranty. By elsewhere.

I have a Hayward Superpump XL variable pump for my pool. It replaced my older no name brand that failed after about 4 years. The Superpump XL was installed two summer's ago, and here we get roughly 3-4 months of swimming. This pump has been put away during the winter indoors every year, so you can imaging my shock when after about the 7th month of service, it died. I reached out to Hayward support. They responded asking for the serial number and I sent that back. I have not heard back from them in over 10 days at this point. Their customer support has a LOT to be desired. I don't believe the 5 star reviews about how good this support is, it's virtually non-existent. They must only be a few outliers that got lucky. I'm going to open up a new ticket every day until I hear back from them. I'm hoping the sheer number of tickets opened will overwhelm them, and they will HAVE to address me. Even if they tell me to pound sand, at least I'll have my answer.

We have had this particular pool heat for 3 years and have had it fixed 3 years in a row. Different problems. Now its completely gone and leaking and Hayward refuses to believe its their product. Says I need a whole new unit at my cost. Terrible product, Terrible customer service. I will never buy a Hayward product. They refuse to believe they have a poorly made product.

Hayward pool heater is total junk. Leaks and doesn’t work.

Hayward used to have competent customer service and technical support but no more. I have spend weeks trying to get a part replaced under warrantee and the AI answering the phone ask a lot of question but in the end can only create a ticket that gets no action. Their products are no longer as reliable as they used to be and their support is non-existent.

Don’t buy Hayward. Sub par equipment and very poor customer service. Impossible to have warranty honored. Stay away.

High end variable speed pump failed in 4 years. Horrible quality! Would not recommend

I have made more than 15 calls…. To AI with one in person return call which was inaccurate and not helpful. I have a pool heater … generated by propane. The “mother board” doesn’t work after 3 ( yes three) years… and NO parts are available to solve the problem?!? I paid 5k for the heater in 2022…. And it was problematic last year. I’ll assume there are no parts….. because everyone else’s has failed also?!?!? And customer service is NONEXISTENT

We ordered a brand new gas pool heater and it didn’t work. After a long painful process getting through to a human in the warranty department, I am told that if you buy a Hayward product online, only the parts are covered by warranty. Terrible - will never buy Hayward again!

I can't believe these reviews I've read on here. Hayward warranty and customer service department is one of the best reasons to purchase a Hayward product. I've had a salt chlorinator system from them since 2021. Yes I had issues with it but it's an awesome product because the people and the company stand behind the product the make. I've had issues and contacted warranty department and every single time the problem was handled immediately. The problem is you have to go by the warranty regulations, if you installed it yourself that's on you, if you had a non Hayward authorized person install it your warranty is void. This aren't plug and play systems. These are complicated precise instruments. So if you didn't follow the clearly layed out warranty guidelines then you are responsible for your problems. Jarod Miller from the warranty department has handled every issue I had every single time(he and his department are amazing) . However I had to supply all receipts of Purchase And Installation and they had to verify they were Hayward authorized sellers and installers. Then after they were verified it was smooth sailing after that. So anyone reading these silly reviews left on hear l, ask yourself why the warranty was not valid. Because people want to go the cheapest route and install their selfes or use a person that isn't authorized. The Warranty department is Haywards biggest asset and Jarod Miller and the warranty team is why I'm a lifelong Hayward pool and Salt Chlorinator Owner. You guys are the best and should be proud. After Hayward updated the Omnologic app, I haven't been able to log on. I have contacted Hayward numerous times through email and the phone and left many voice messages, but I've heard nothing. By the number of negative reviews, Hayward obviously doesn't care!

UPDATE! Trish from Hayward contacted me and fixed the problem! Everything is working perectly again! Thank you Trish!

I would give zero stars if I could. We purchased a pool pump from Hayward Pools, and it broke down in less than two years. I contacted customer service, filled out the warranty forms, and did everything they asked. Even after escalating to a supervisor and making countless calls over several months, not a single technician ever showed up. We eventually gave up and bought a replacement pump from a different manufacturer.

Poor product quality and absolutely horrible customer service. I highly recommend avoiding them completely. Hayward has no in-house certified technicians; they rely on local dealers who clearly have no vested interest in performing warranty repairs because Hayward doesn't pay them for it. Bottom line: if you buy from them, expect to be completely on your own when it breaks.

Spent $1500 on a new pool pump 6 months ago because my pool guy said Hayward was the best. He was so wrong! It is not working, only 6 months old but told no problem because it’s under warranty. My pool guy filed the warranty 2 weeks ago and I still have not heard anything from Hayward. I call them and my pool guy/co every other day and the pool co working with Hayward under the warranty says Hayward rep does not return their multiple calls and emails. I call customer service during biz hours and get a recorded message saying to call back during business hours! I will never buy a Hayward product again. This company makes inferior products, does not honor their warranty and has 0 customer service.

Deserves Zero stars. Their products recently are utter garbage, the quality of the products are designed to just make it past warranty, then you are on your own!!!

Purchased V-Flex upgrade kit for it because some bearings got a bit tight after 8 years of operation. DO NOT Buy this upgrade kit, it is absolute garbage!!! The bearings in the bearingless system collapsed in just over 1 year of operation, these bearings go on the v-flex mechanism, both wore through the garbage bearing retainer plastic. Picture of this included, it looks like some employee went home and 3D printed these with extremely bad filaments. This upgrade kit is stupidly expensive so do yourself a favour and do not do it. Put your money into a different brand spend a little extra and seriously reward yourself down the track.

My experience with Hayward is above my expectations! I have a pool and spa, all equipment is Hayward; Pump, Heater, Filter, Omni controller, Salt T Cell, ALL IS A Hayward. Heck my poolbot is Hayward. My pool has been in for 6 years and is used all year long. I would expect some upkeep issues. I can say this about Hayward…They have ALWAYS stood behind any issues, especially those under warranty. I will sum it up like this, I am a current and future Hayward customer. Their support staff are prompt and helpful. We love our pool and are grateful we spent a little extra money and went Hayward for equipment.

My Haywood variable speed pump went bad after two years. I was told it had a three year warranty. Warranty is not being honored. Very poor customer satisfaction and communication. Very expensive, broken pump. Don’t recommend doing business with this company or product.
