At the loss of my partners mother, we were told once the funeral had taken place that my partner was to inherit 50% of the Estate. Withing two weeks the firm dealing with the will came, took notes had us sign paperwork so that they could take control with Probate and Legalities.
Nothing happened, we were advised the house couldn't go on the market until probate was received. For 18 months, nothing happened. Seriously nothing.
We then had an offer for the property privately, the Flat had been advertised for about a month at this time, with a firm that never answered their phone. I chased for an update of viewings, but so dis-satisfied i asked to change Estate Agents as they didn't even advertise on Rightmove.
Once the neighbour made an offer, HKLaw became involved, David Blackmore led this sale, contacting the LA for all relevant paperwork required, and advising us that Probate had not been applied for. I put all my faith in David Blackmore, I had cancer last year and it had returned in November 2025. I didn't have to chase up to see what was happening, I didn't need to wonder where we were at, David kept me informed every step of the way and was so easy to work with, it allowed me to concentrate on myself and not my partner who absolutely hates paperwork.
From that first introduction, he just was so professional, and everything moved.
James Chittenden was in total control behind the scenes and from the sale of the House to advising us of the Estate Distribution Detail it too a swift two weeks, amazing. I just cannot speak highly enough of them, and thank them so very much.

Dealing with family probate can be time consuming and rarely straightforward, so I am grateful to HKLaw for the time and consideration given in dealing with my late sister’s affairs.

Wills and LPAs can be quite difficult to comprehend in legal terms but Abigail explained all aspects in simple terms that we were able to fully understand. She was helpful and sensitive for what can be a difficult situation to face. HK Law came highly recommended and we would do the same for anyone who needs legal advice.

Had to deal with this firm to deal with my late mother's estate. The solicitor assigned to the case worked I think two days a week, and nobody covered her caseload on the remaining days, or during times of holiday or illness. Consequently, nothing was done in her absence, so the entire experience was protracted and frustrating.

Obviously it was a stressful time and and I wanted to conclude the matter as quickly as possible. On the days she was actually working she obviously had other client cases to catch up on, so all in the level of service was slow and shoddy.

The only consistent contact from her was her 'Out of Office' email and the invoices - they were pretty regular.

I would NOT recommend this law firm.

Dealt with HK law, solicitor, Stewart, Bradford dealing with my late uncles estate. he helped us through probate which came through quite quickly and was always available to give us advice. We later use them to deal with our wills which have been updated. Very good service , recommended
