I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with this car rental company was extremely disappointing, and I want others to be aware before deciding to rent from them.

I rented a vehicle for 4 days with an allowance of 150 km per day, and to avoid any issues, I even purchased an additional 200 km. This gave me a total mileage allowance of 800 km.

When I returned the car, one of their employees inspected it thoroughly. After the inspection, I was told that everything was fine and that the only deduction from my security deposit would be AED 18 for Salik. Based on that, I left with the understanding that my remaining deposit would be refunded after the stated 30-day period.

However, after 30 days, instead of receiving my deposit, I was sent a list of unexpected deductions. They claimed I had exceeded the mileage limit and charged me for extra kilometres, even though their own odometer readings showed otherwise. I pointed out the mistake and provided the calculations, after which they admitted the mileage charge was incorrect and removed it.

The fact that they initially attempted to charge me for mileage I did not exceed seriously damaged my confidence in their billing process.

After removing the incorrect mileage charge, they still deducted AED 280 for a car wash. This was surprising because at the time I returned the vehicle, their staff inspected it, accepted the car, and did not mention that it was dirty or that any cleaning fee would be charged. If there had been an issue with the vehicle's condition, I believe it should have been raised during the return inspection, not a month later when the deposit was due.

I repeatedly asked for clarification and evidence supporting the cleaning charge, but getting clear responses was difficult, and I was repeatedly told to contact the accounts department. The communication throughout the refund process was frustrating and unhelpful.

My advice to anyone considering renting from this company is:

Take detailed photos and videos of the vehicle before and after your rental.
Photograph the odometer at pickup and return.
Keep copies of every message and receipt.
Carefully monitor your deposit refund and question any deductions you do not understand.

Everyone's experience may be different, but based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend this company. A security deposit should provide peace of mind, not become a source of stress and unexpected disputes weeks after the vehicle has already been accepted and returned.

Do NOT rent a car from this company. They operate under multiple names—including Houston Rent A Car, Moosa Rent A Car, and HMA Superior Rent A Car—specifically to confuse customers and avoid legal accountability.

Their business model is a systematic scam targetting tourists. They lure you in with cheap daily rates, but the moment you return the vehicle, they will look for any excuse to steal your AED 1,000 security deposit.

In my case, they manually wrote "Car is Dirty" on the return agreement and then completely ghosted me on WhatsApp for weeks. When they finally responded, they sent a fabricated bill full of illegal charges, including charging 5% VAT on a refundable security deposit—which is strictly illegal under UAE law.

I have already filed an official fraud case with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (Consumer Protection) and initiated a chargeback dispute through my bank. Check their recent 1-star reviews; they are doing the exact same "dirty car" and fake tax calculation to dozens of tourists right now.

Save your money, your sanity, and your time. Avoid these fraudsters at all costs!

Very disappointing experience. I was provided a vehicle with an expired registration (Mulkiya), which should never happen with a rental car. During the rental period, I was stopped by the police and had to bear the resulting fine and related expenses myself.

In addition to the immediate costs, I was informed that further fines/penalties linked to this incident would be recorded against my driving licence, causing me additional financial and administrative burden.

To make matters worse, my security deposit was never returned. Despite repeated follow-ups, I did not receive a satisfactory resolution or refund. Not a single penny of my deposit was returned.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company. Customers should carefully verify all vehicle documents before accepting a rental vehicle and ensure that all deposit terms are clearly documented.

It's a bunch of absolute fraudsters who are bringing disrepute to the city of Dubai. These guys are running three firms, Moosa Rent A Car, Houston Rent A Car & HMA Superior Rent A Car. The MO is to to advertise cheap car rental in Dubai, lure the customer, offer a cheap per day rate and then block AED 1000 on his/her card.They will provide a run down filthy car which you will accept considreing it's cheap and within 4-5 days your own car will come back from the garage. They promise free delivery and pick at the time of booking. The fun starts after your car is picked up. I've paid AED 254 for 6 days rental for a Nissan Sunny 2020 model. The car was picked up from my residence on the 6th day. It's been 34 days, today I've received a message on WhatsApp stating that I need to send the receipt to refund.in.30days.moosagmail.com, which I promptly did. After a whle i received a message stating Car NISSAN SUNNY

Refundable amount =291.15

I'm copying and pasting the message here without changing anything. I'm not even sure if this AED 291 will ever be refunded to my credit card. So now I've paid more than AED 200 per day for a rundown car. Imagine they could do this with long-time Dubai residents like me, what must they be doing to tourists? I, in all seriousness, want to file a case and appreciate if other people also join to put an end to this thuggery. Pls connect. This company is a complete fraud! They cheated me, took not one but two deposits, and refused to return them. On top of that, they double-charged me for Salik toll fees and even threatened to report me to court for payments I don’t owe.
They also refused to repair the car on insurance (which is mandatory for a 2026 car), and instead tried to make me pay out of pocket. Even when there was a police report filed against an unknown person, they still tried to push the liability on me.
This business is a scam operation – they trap customers with hidden charges, keep deposits, and use threats to extort more money.

Everyone who has dealt with them should report this company to the authorities, consumer rights, and even human rights offices to stop their fraudulent practices.

Extremely disappointing experience with DAW AL SAHRAA Car Rental LLC (Houston Rent a Car – Al Jaddaf).

I rented a car from them on 30th May 2025 and returned it on 29th June 2025. At the time of booking, I was promised free delivery and pickup, no hidden charges, and a deposit refund of AED 1,000 within 21 days.

Even after more than 30 days, my deposit has not been refunded. I have contacted them multiple times, but they ignore all calls and messages. The individuals involved — Ali, Tahir, and their accounts team — are completely unresponsive.

This behavior is unprofessional and unacceptable. I am now forced to escalate this issue to the Dubai Economic Department and the police.

I strongly advise others to avoid this company. There are many more trustworthy car rental services in Dubai — don’t waste your time and money here.

they dont give the car as agreed, paid 45aed for car delivery. i said to replace the car given to me as it was not agreed but they want me to go to their office instead to change it myself. i didnt use the car so i said to cancel the contract but they said it was not refundable. i told them you can keep the money for car rental but return the 1k refundable deposit and take the car the next day itself. i didnt even use the car. i kept messaging everyday but car was take after 5 days only. they dont refund the 1k deposit, deducted 280aed because they said the car was dirty and 280aed because they picked up their car. i have to keep following up my own money. they only refunded 359.94aed and stoled 640.06 from me. very bad service, very rude people. they are scammers. dont ever trust them. i will file a criminal complaint against these scammers.

I strongly advise against renting from Houston Rent A Car (Al Jaddaf, Dubai) and its affiliate Moosa Rent A Car. These companies engage in deceptive practices, illegal charges, and outright theft of customer deposits. Here’s what happened:

1. Dual Company Scam
- Rented through Houston Rent A Car , but contract/receipts were issued under Moosa Rent A Car a clear red flag.
- Switched names upon return, suggesting they operate this way to avoid accountability.

2. Illegal Deductions & VAT Fraud
- Refundable security deposit was stolen under fake charges:
- "Cleaning fee" (car was spotless).
- Duplicate "Salik toll charges" (already paid).
- Made-up "admin fee" (not in contract).
- Illegally charged 5% VAT on the deposit (refundable deposits are exempt from VAT by UAE law).

3. Deliberate Avoidance & Blocking
- Ignored all calls/messages when requested for a refund.
- Blocked my number when they realized I was following up—proving they know their actions are wrong.

4. No Transparency, No Ethics
- No valid reason given for withholding money.
- No proper documentation for deductions.
- Pattern of scamming customers who trust them.

Final Verdict: SCAM ALERT
These companies manipulate customers, steal deposits, and ignore complaints. Do NOT do business with them—you WILL lose money.
