Complete scam, take your money then don't respond

Avoid HowToPay at all costs. They claim to support high-risk merchants but once your balance grows, they stop replying. In my case, they froze $350,000 and disappeared — no payouts, no support, nothing. Operating from Thailand only helps them hide from accountability. Total scam.

Stay far away from HowToPay. They pretend to support high-risk merchants but their real business is taking your money and never paying it out. Once your balance grows large enough, they simply stop responding — in my case, over $700,000 remains unpaid.
They ignored every support ticket and email after months of “processing” excuses. Their so-called office in Thailand protects them from law enforcement, which is why they continue operating despite scamming countless businesses.
Avoid at all costs — this company is a complete fraud and should be investigated immediately.

I’m deeply concerned about HowToPay's operations. This company appears to be running illegal payment processing for numerous websites selling subscription-only and controlled drugs without prescriptions — a clear violation of international pharmaceutical laws and consumer protection standards.

Not only is this highly unethical and potentially dangerous, but they also withhold funds, refuse to provide clear communication, and do not process legitimate payouts to users or partners. Attempts to contact support have been ignored or met with vague responses, raising serious red flags.

I urge others to stay away from this platform and for authorities to investigate their business model. A payment processor should never be complicit in illegal sales, and certainly not refuse to pay out funds they owe.

Avoid at all costs.

We removed their plug in from our site a few months back as payments were constantly going missing and they would blame our bank for not being able to receive them, even though at the start payments would run smoothly. They owe us £1000's still and we chase them almost daily....just get an automated ticket reply and no follow up. Don't bother ringing them...no-one answers ! Proper Scammers !

Beyond dodgy. Got caught in a phishing/hijacked website scam and reported it to their disputes team. They say on the payment confirmation that they’ll take 3 business days to sort out your dispute. It’s been nearly 2 weeks with their answers to my emails wanting updates ‘we have added your query to your dispute’. Getting my money back? When the sun falls out of the sky maybe. Avoid these guys like the plague.

Just read the reviews, scammers. Worked few times, until it didn't. Avoid.

COMPLETE SCAM. If it has “Id” in front of howtopay, Do not use. I received an email from them. When I called the phone number I found online to ask what the bill was for, they had no idea. They were guessing. First they said it was a water and electric bill. I told them that’s not possible, then they said it was some kind of lottery.
The positive reviews seem totally fake too.

lost amount . they does not recognise the payment

I used them to pay for my order from alldaychemist, did the bank transfer, and was told that the funds have not been received. I spoke to my bank, and they said the recipient has received it.

The day after I gave them my cc details my bank stopped my credit card for fraudulent activity - seems too coincidental.

Less than a week after entering my cc info into howtopay.com my card had 3 fraudulent attempts and I had to close my card and get a new one sent to me. I know this is where they got my card information because I have not used this card anywhere else in over a year.

Scam website. Deposited funds into a usd account. 2 business days later, still not showing. Their support phone number is fake and no responses to emails

Paid from the UK for foreign goods using IBAN. However, 4 days after the money was paid, it hasn't arrived in my howtopay account and support.at.howtopay.com have not responded to my email in 48 hours. Looks like a scam to me.

I can't find a website that supports this payment gateway, my money can't be withdrawn

Have used them a few times before and never a problem. in this particular instance - Accidently paid money to them and less than 5min Sean phones me and retuned the money in less than 10min! Great service.

Sent a cheque to the Howtopay London office in November 2020 and it got lost.

Repeated the payment in December 2020 and it also got lost.

Now one cheque going missing I would say was very unlucky but two going missing indicates to me that this organization is totally dysfunctional.

Avoid them like the plague.

Jan 2021, Update .... Well it turns out that my second cheque was eventually cashed after about 3 weeks, so I take back what I said about this organization being dysfunctional.

Also since then I've used my bank account to pay for goods directly avoiding the long postage delays and also had success with this method. Be warned however that UK banks now carrying out a verification check to help customers recognise bona fide accounts and unfortunately the How To Pay UK account number could not be verified - so it appears that your money may about to be going to get lost if you hit the proceed button.

How To Pay UK need to get their account number recognised/verified by UK banks and give customers some confidence that they are legitimate.
