Be careful of the "good reviews" most of them are fake, you can tell by checking their spelling and way of talking or even their other reviews.

H&R have been absolute garbage everytime I've called or scheduled a call in with them, they have always basically tried to scam me out of money and service, when I wasn't sure they would try end the call, their knowledge is just a pathetic and their service, and it goes on and on. NEVER go with this pathetic garbage company ever.

Pooja declined to refund me for a "pre-service" payment that was never provided and when I requested to speak with someone else, I was told no other staff member or manager would review my case. They are also demanding me to send my credit card details by email to "confirm" the refund which is highly unprofessional and suspicious, especially for a company that should be secure and encrypted when processing payments. This makes me question whether their website is secure at all and leaves me very worried about the safety of my personal and financial data.

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. 0 communication and customer service. Unprofessional, Unhelpful, Stressful, Rude, Arrogant, Obnoxious boss babes in a mini skirt. You will have to chase up your return with phone calls every step of the way and that includes paying your HRblock service fee over the phone before they will lodge your "completed return" with the ato. I would rather poo in my hands and clap than use this service again.

Absolutely disgraceful experience with H&R Block. I paid thousands for business tax work that was never delivered. They managed to register my GST, then completely dropped the ball on everything else. No follow-up. No progress. Just silence.

After chasing them for weeks, I finally demanded a refund. They agreed, then proceeded to stall for over 10 days with no proof of payment and zero urgency. I had to keep emailing just to get basic replies. At this point, it feels like they're hoping I’ll just go away.

For a company of their size, this is pathetic. No professionalism. No accountability. I’ll be lodging complaints with every regulatory body I can find. Do not trust them with your business. They are a complete waste of time and money.

Will never ever be using H&R Block have had ato 2 years in a row ring to notify information lodged in wrong parts on tax lodgment delaying return. absolutely hopeless

Not only they have even more fees they are tne worst to deal with i had my return done on the 2nd it's now the 25th no return has been paid I do not recommend using H&R block

Lack of customer service. Extremely happy to do your return and take your money. My return was completed and received by the ATO on the 12th of August 2024. It is now 20th January 2025. I tried to contact my local office and left messages to no avail.
In frustration I contacted the ATO complaints line. This is when I found out that H & R Block had been notified via10 email from the ATO in relation to my return. At no stage did they advise me of these.

This company used to be great, today they are absolutely terrible rip off merchants. I have paid a fee to have my tax return completed online and they have locked it due to an error on their part. To get it fixed they say to call customer service. Customer service is not a team that can help, they say speak with the online team who are not available at all. The alternate is that I can pay EXTRA MONEY and speak to someone. This is an absolute outrage and after years of loyally using this service I will never do so again. Beware, this is pretty much extortion.

Engaged with Hari Randhawa of H&R Block to service my SMSF, Paid the 50% $1175.00 deposit to commence work, NO WORK WAS EVER CARRIED OUT During the 12 month engagement process !
I have all correspondence on file ready to share this awful experience
Requested a refund of the deposit and still not paid.
Now with late BAS and Returns , have received thousands in late penalties from ATO let alone being black listed

I rang the Fremantle H& R Block office and was told that my simple, average tax return would cost me $109 not only was it not maximised and I ended up with a hefty tax bill but was also told my Tax return was going to cost $179.00, had they been open and honest I would declined and gone somewhere else but they decided to charge me this outrageous amount after the return was completed, absolutely disgusting, Never, ever again

Rubbish. Do not use the online service! This was the first time I had used their service. They allocate an Indian accountant - All good. He does a refund estimate of $200. I didn't claim many deductions. My taxable income was around $115,000. I looked through it and realised he had charged me for Medicare Surcharge Levy, even though our combined income was under the $180,000 threshold. That's a $1150 hit to the pocket. I brought it up with him, he said he'd change it. I complained to the manager, highlighted this 'slip up' as he has undoubtedly done it to numerous unsuspecting customers, and asked for a discount considering he was going to cost me $1150. The issue was escalated through the ranks - all Indian. Then, they offered a 10% discount from $200. In the end, I did it myself. A pitiful service.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service I received from H&R Block's Australia online tax advisors during my 2023/24 tax return preparation. Despite being a longstanding customer, I faced several issues, including overlooked documents detailing capital gains and income, incorrect guidance on cryptocurrency transactions, and misclassifying commissions as expenses. Communication was poor, with my advisor going on leave without notice and delays in addressing my concerns. These issues have left me uncertain about the accuracy of my tax return, particularly regarding cryptocurrency transactions with the ATO. I suggest improvements such as thorough document review, better training on cryptocurrency integration, effective communication strategies, and a robust review process to ensure accuracy and completeness in tax returns.

The consultant did not provide transparent pricing and my Tax information has not been lodged for assessment yet.

Had my initial appointment on 07/09 and a phone call the next day to confirm my amended tax return was ready to be sent to the ATO.
Heard nothing from ATO- nothing was in my online account and nothing from H&R Block for weeks. I followed up on 30/09 to which they told me there had been an error in the system and they were reprocessing it. I followed up again on 06/10 and another error. Now its 24/10 and the amendment has finally appeared in my ATO account online- to which it says it was processed by myself instead of stating it was done by a tax agent?
Not impressed as the tax amendments I've completed myself have taken half the time (this was a return from a few years back, so I wasn't able to process myself)
I paid $150 and been waiting 8 weeks, extremely disappointed with this.
I understand now it's with the ATO it's up to them, but the initial processing time from my appointment date to it showing in my account is ridiculous.

very honest and helpful and constructive and they know what they are doing with share investment and cryptocurrencies and are very quick doing it thanks to all involved and they listen to what i had to say with all my stuff thanks to all .i would recommend them to anyone when doing their taxes and very professional.
