They use to be the best for HSA’s but they got greedy and removed Schwab to collect more fees. The change was not thought out well or planned. I’ve closed my account and moved to a better option.

HSA Bank awful
The website, app, and support all stink. I have been trying to liquidate my remaining invested funds into cash so I can transfer it to a better HSA account elsewhere. But there website/app fail at this task. I have spoken with numerous agents and supervisors. All they do is apologize and say it can take three days to fix. Weeks have gone by. They say that there is no way for me to speak with the "investment team" (looks like a company called DriveWealth; no phone number). I have filed complaints with the Office of the Controller of the Currency and with FINRA for this "denial of access" to my funds.
0 stars - will never use HSA back again if I can avoid it

Customer service is terrible
Verification must be done over and over
If the phone hangs up 'or disconnects' they never call you back
It is impossible to speak to a supervisor, and when a supervisor call back is requested, it never happens
Answers from representatives are not consistent
The HSA side and the COBRA side are 2 separate entities and they do not communicate with each other
While they will take your money immediately for transfer, for certain activities they only accept US mail and only checks sent by US mail - especially when it benefits them and not the customer
Extremely unhelpful
Charge fees for everything including keeping an HSA account; they charged me 10% of the money I had in the account to keep the account open every month, and it was a very difficult process to move my money out of their institution - I am still waiting for it to happen
Papers sent to them do not seem to arrive
They use to be the best for HSA’s but…

Customer Service are Liars
Requested an amount of $297 in check be mailed to me. No check. No check. They assured me multiple times this was on USPS. After a few weeks of waiting, I had HSA void the check because I didn't want to risk "USPS" giving my money to somebody else. HSA told me twice, two different times, it was voided. Well over a month later the money is STILL not back in my account. So they lied saying USPS lost it because they definitely sent it as I received it AFTER requesting it to be voided date showed written AFTER they said USPS lost it. Now after voiding, about a month and a half later, the money has NOT been returned to my account. This is MY money for MEDICAL expenses.
worst bank I've ever dealt with
worst bank I've ever dealt with, surprised they are still in business. Customer service straight up hung up on me and I hope no companies keep business with them for the sake of the employees' mental health.
The worst bank ever…
The worst bank ever…. Terrible service and I coil wrote a novel i the repeated cluster messes I have encountered with them. Yes, tax conservations, and system limitations are a complex component of HSA administration, but these folks are SLOW and I am convinced they generate revenue from “float” time on consumer transactions and high account fees. Go somewhere elae if ou are considering an HSA
Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service! Unable to get responses or talk to upper management concerning contribution errors.
We will be leaving this company very soon.
Genuinely HATE this bank
Genuinely HATE this bank. Wish I could give it 0 stars for the wort platform to exist. Both cash and investment options suck. My prior employer clearly hated the staff so much that they transitioned us from Schwab to HSA Bank. Rollover is a nightmare. They say no fees but do in fact have fees. They are unwilling to assist and initiate transfers or work with other custodians.
Horrible Service
Bottom tier customer service period. If you contact their email, you get an automated response to call them. If and when you get through on the phone, nobody knows anything about anything. Every interaction with their customer service is horrible.
Employers please stay away from this bank
My company moved our FSA to HSA Bank recently. That's where nightmare starts. This bank seems knows nothing about FSA expenses and require card holder to provide EVETYTHING to prove the expense is legit... From ER visit to pediatric office visit, from annual physical to prescription purchase... when I called their customer service to complain, their response was rude and irresponsible! They said those documents were requested by IRS and my employer which are lies!! employers, if you hate your employee, please use services from this bank.
Enrolled Dec 2025, Middle of March, still no cards!
Enrolled Dec 2025, called because card had not arrived. Was offered to get a replacement, that it would take 10-14 days. I asked if the original one might be delayed and requested the lady NOT send replacement that I would wait. Sure enough the card arrived, I tried using and was denied benefits. I called again, it was explained that the card could not be used because it was replaced. To wait for new one. Well, waited and nothing happened called again. Was told they couldnt expedite a card, but would send checks. No one uses checks. I called again today, to be told card was mailed in Feb that it might be lost again, they would request a replacement to wait another 10-14 business days, then another 7 days after receipt to use the card. It is middle of march and I cant get meds, or healthcare - so I asked to speak with a manager (escalate) they transferred me to an automated survey and disconnected my call!!!!!!!! Horrible customer support.
Claims processing is terrible
Claims processing is terrible. If you call them regarding a problem, they have no answers and give you the runaround. Worst vendor I've ever dealt with for HRA claims.
Customer service is horrible
Customer service is horrible. Half of them dont understand English and the rest cant do anything but read from a manual. Had no way to use my fsa in time so they basically stole 1200$. Won't ever use this company in the future.
Refuses to handle charge disputes
The bank allowed a large amount of non-medical expenses to come through on my debit card that I did not make. Communicating with them about how to file a dispute of these transactions is nothing short of dismal and pathetic. They have made it clear that they do not have, nor wish to implement, a valid system by which customers can dispute charges. This is costing me almost $700 so far - on a medical expense account no less - DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS BANK!
Money stolen from my HAS account
Money stolen from my HAS account, some $18k, in early January 2026. As to today 3/7/26 no resolution. Most concerning!
In addition, they cannot reinstate me into online access of my account. Each failed phone call last 30-60 minutes. Their system, not the employees, is wasteful and stressful. It makes me feel as if I stole the money not the thief. Look elsewhere for a more user-friendly vendor.
Not a user-friendly bank.
Do not appreciate speaking with a person I cannot understand, who is not helpful at all or able to resolve my issue and hold time was ridiculous. Don't care what rates are, not worth it. Will be closing this account.
The worst experience ever!!!
The worst experience ever!!!! App does not work, website does not work, cannot submit expenses. Call support and all they can say is that the system is down everytime I call. How is someone suppose to get their money when the sites never works?
Delays in closing the account
Things were fine until I needed to close my account. I did all the paperwork as requested and then waited, and waited. Finally I called to check and they said the form was not dated, so they could not execute it. 1) I double checked and *yes it was dated* next to my signature line - I had pdf'd and sent it and I was looking directly at the pdf and it was dated. 2) If a form is received with some error aren't they responsible for contacting me to let me know so I can correct it? TL;DR when you try to leave they will make it difficult.
HSA Bank Account
I have an HSA brokerage account through HSA Bank. Probably one of the worst brokerage accounts I’ve ever had. The transition from Schwab to HSA bank was supposed to make managing an HSA account easier but that has been anything but the case for me.
I have frequent login issues relating to the HSA Bank app. There are also consistent delays and errors in transactions using the HSA Bank app to purchase shares of stocks and moving funds, dropped phone calls to (and inconsistent representations by) representatives that make the experience with HSA Bank more burdensome and frustrating than necessary. Communicating these issues to HSA Bank either over the phone or by email has not resolved any of them for me.
Terrible Experience
Apparently my HSA debit card was compromised. Since they didn't let me know, I only found out about it when my card was rejected at the pharmacy. After repeated calls to them (they will not call you even though they promise to) I found out today that it will be 10-14 days before I have a new card. In the meantime I have medical expenses to pay. This is the worst customer service.
