I almost lost my son at Bear Mountain
I almost lost my son at Bear Mountain. He had to be life flighted down the mountain in a helicopter for emergency surgery. He fell on a jump that should have never been open with the condition of the snow being almost to the dirt and ice. The amount of people let in for two runs was out of control as well. On his first day of the year, this happens and I asked Icon to push his pass till next year. Of course they came back with the excuse that I should have bought the extra insurance so there is nothing they can do. I was not asking for a refund just to push the pass. Since they are sold out they could just sell another pass in 5 seconds and let my son go next year after he heals the next 9 months.
I understand the policy, however if they want to hide behind those claims then what about making sure the mountains are safe? What about only selling enough passes so that the mountain is safe to ski?
I'm disgusted by the response I got after years of dropping thousands of dollars on their passes.
I did the math, 4 passes over the next 20 years is a $70,000 loss they will know have since I will never buy them again...not that they care, they are printing money and have put profits above all else.
Awful Experience with ICON Pass Customer Support!
I paid for the most expensive ICON Pass eight months in advance, and it never arrived. Now they tell me they can’t guarantee a replacement will be shipped and that I have to go to the mountain to pick it up. If you’re traveling to Europe or elsewhere, they don’t print passes, so you’re stuck getting a new one every day.
To make things worse, one representative hung up on me. When I spoke to a manager named Barbara, instead of apologizing or helping, she blamed the issue on elections and acted like I was the problem for being upset. How is that acceptable? If this is the kind of manager they have, no wonder the rest of the customer support is terrible. For the price, this is absolutely unacceptable.

it was the wrong pass and I called to explain my mistake and they would not refund me. Ruined a boys season.. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!

I was charged twice for my pass, and getting a refund was a huge hassle. I spoke to three agents who I guess forgot to process the refund. Not great.

I need knee surgery come to find out soon after buying a pass, then I was hit with a 50k tax bill this year and trying to recoup funds and plan for a comeback the following year but Ikon, aka Alterra, is unwilling to provide a refund just a couple weeks after purchase, even though passes aren’t delivered for many months. The organization doesn’t care about you, local ski mountains, or anything but profits, just another monopoly in the making so it’s easy to get sucked into their business model, akin to Amazon. What happens when there are no other choices and they start reeling back quality? the only way to fight something like this is at the individual level, make the right choice and just pass on Ikon.

Very poor customer support. I wanted to defer my pass until next year. Could not get through on phone or find on website. Sent an email asking about the program. Email was answered a week later. Had the date on December 14th to defer.That is great except I got email on the 19th and they would not honor deferral. Will be buying EPIC pass next year!
