If I could give zero stars, I would
If I could give zero stars, I would. I opened an account, set up a login, was set up for voice ID, and a day or two later, when I tried to log on to access my account to link an external account to fund the account, my log in didn't work. When I called, not only was there no voice ID for me, but none of my verifications worked, and I eventually got a representative, who told me--after more rigamarole--that my account had been closed and that I was barred from ever opening an account with Schwab again. All this with zero notification to me.
My guess is the stumbling block was that I was using a different email from the email associated with other banks and with my gov't records. I use a masked email to avoid spam and to hopefully reduce the chance of tracking and hijacking of email accounts for spam.
I get the utility and time-saving of automated checks, but nothing replaces actual human intelligence and common sense.
