I could have give them -0. I would. IRS department is a disgrace, to our national. They bunch of scamers and criminals. My refund check was returned back in march by stupid mailman mistake. Since I have been calling IRS and every time I ask what's going on? You have to wait another 60 days. IRS shouldn't be allowed to take our money every pay check. Fk IRS everyday, all day.

Calling any IRS office is unbelievably depressing!!!! 😡 Be prepared to be left on hold for hours and most likely being hung up on afterwards ! Most Reps are rude, unprofessional and you'll be ill informed most of the time, because they don't know enough about the job they're getting paid to do. They're impatient and don't want to take even seconds to answer questions or allow you to thoroughly explain your tax issue ! But, the IRS is quick to come after people and put liens on their assets, even when they're trying to do the right thing!!! I'm sick of it!!! No wonder Trump has eliminated so many positions!! Nobody wants to do their job, but wants a paycheck!! Fire them all and start over!

This is so sad.
The man LITERALLY had an attitude. Placed me on hold without notice. Did NOT answer my question. And shockingly Hung up IN MY FACE, instead of answering a tax qquestion. Insane!

Now, I have to call back and be on hold again to get the same question answered. Yikes. What is happening?

More and more the website to pay estimated taxes is "Temporarily Unavailable", creating a challenge paying taxes. No contact to email about this, to document, no accountability by IRS IT department. Terrible experience.

Terrible service. The automated message said 30-60 minutes. TWO HOURS later I finally get to talk to a human being. She gets all the info and transfers me to the next lady, who I give all the info to again. Without warning she pits me on hold, transferred again! Their hold music was glitching too. Its not enough these bloodsuckers are unnecessarily burdening us citizens, they also waste our time amd squander tax monies.

I wish they would get rid of the irs altogether govt greeed! Have you on hold forever!!!!! Can’t set up a darn payment playment plan!!! You have to call you people think somebody wanna be on hold all day you as if I don’t have anything else to do!!!!!

Thank you irs for screwing me out of my tax return. Now im making all my money under the table and will never pay taxes again. What comes around goes around u criminals

This proves that American society has decayed into severe corruption. It is insanely hard to find a human representative from the IRS who will communicate with people through telecommunication now. Americans shouldn't be surprised when foreigners refuse to get US citizenship or visit American states considering things like the IRS are very irresponsible from a lack of human-to-human communication. From where I'm standing, this shows a severe lack of legal support for common Americans compared to the tyrannical billionaires who control them. Americans shouldn't even be surprised when countries are becoming economically independent from the decaying US at this point.

Wow, they got 1.4 reviews. I don’t think you can get any worse than that. Send us a letter saying we owe $3155 from last year. They made a mistake been on the phone for two hours. No one answers the phone. I think someone should just demolish the revenue service. Bunch of idiots. Anyway leave the people alone, bad man.

Worst crap you ever have to deal with...I called several times, I tried the phone service and it can't help for nothing .....when the machine was already able to finally transfer me to someone the machine said they couldn't answer my call because of the type of inquiry and to try tomorrow.....this is what makes me feel the IRS should be destroyed

This is a nightmare, beyond an insult to taxpayers and a clear example of government not advocating nor representing its tax paying citizens, and there's nothing you can do no way to fix even the issue I as well as millions experience..they are too powerful and answer to no one..don't be fooled. It is currently Monday, I have been calling daily since last Wednesday and spent 3 hours wed, 2.5 Thursday, 3.5 on Friday and 6 hours today trying to speak to someone!!!!! Once you get through 30-45 mins of the phone tree looping you right back to the start after saying 'were connecting you to a representative now' I waited on hold at minimum 1.5 hours before someone answered them would be transferred again either to the phone tree, the wrong dept or just disconnected. I'm at the point I'm almost in tears. The fact ANYONE should have to go through this, mind you I'm now getting im trouble at work cause I have no other option but to call when at work cause they are open...and no other way of reaching them....the federal government should be ashamed, the IRS is pulling in billions a year , it's what keeps the countries government working and the heartbeat of our financial stability and security as a country...the tax dollars pay for EVERYTHING! And the fact is as Americans who fund this system are given a system that is this poor, understaffed, and has zero concern for the citizen is appalling. I am disgusted and embarrassed this is how own of our most important institutions handles customer service and assistance for the very same people that make it all work..the American tax payer!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish there was an option to give zero stars. I have been waiting for nearly three months for my 2024 taxes to be updated on their website. I tried the chat function on the website, but I got a message that says “No representatives are currently available. Please try again later.”—even though it is during business hours! I was forced to call 1-800-829-1040, but I have been on hold for almost 44 minutes for a call that was supposed to be answered “in approximately 15 to 30 minutes”. They clearly do not care about your time!

If you don’t update your system and I don’t get a bill, you don’t get a payment! Take me to federal jail if you want to.

The 2025 IRS made a mistake then tried to punish me for it. I reported the IRS attack to the San Diego FBI, Senator Schiff & IRS Oversight Board. I no longer have any respect, trust or faith in the IRS.

I was on hold for one hour and 30 minutes and they answered it, it got quiet, went back to the music and then they deliberately hung up on me. Ridiculous. How am I suppose to solve my tax issues if you hang up in my face on purpose? I get the previous layoffs so I expected longer wait times but to be hung up on is so messed up!

Everything I was told over the phone by the low skilled, poorly trained, low IQ IRS agent was WRONG. Losers!

Don't waste tour time calling the IRS. Go to an IRS office near you.

IRS is lucky to have an overall 1.4 BAD rating.

The IRS deserves a negative 10.00 TERRIBLE rating.

The IRS:

1. Has zero respect for taxpayers.
2. Is happy to waste hours and days of taxpayers time.
3. Is a bureaucratic nightmare.
4. Exists to employ lawyers and accountants.
5. Telephone employees are low skilled, poorly trained, low IQ and USELESS.
6. Offers the WORST taxpayer service.
7. Represents the WORST of government.
8. Is a total TIME SUCK.
9. Is a siloed, not integrated mess!
10. Hides from taxpayers - endless telephone holds, representatives hang
up on taxpayers, calls are ended due to being too busy with other taxpayers, etc.

Bottom line, the IRS is a disgrace and needs to be reinvented.

Let's face it. The federal government wastes our tax dollars.

The least the government could do is be efficient and effective in taking our money to waste it.

Instead, the IRS tortures taxpayers with deplorable customer service. Disgraceful mess!

But hey, that's US government for you - it's a dumpster fire.

I would give 0 stars if I could. My return was approved 3 months ago. I was not given any option for direct deposit this year, which no one could explain why. I am now waiting another week for check 3 to be mailed because I have never received any of the checks.

I have lost my home of 28 years, can not get any of my prescription medications, attend routine follow ups for chronic conditions because I do not have cash in hand.

The manager at the IRS told me that none of the employees can tell you why the system is the way that it is, they can only provide vague answers to questions that they should be able to answer, considering the hardships this issue is causing me.

They also refuse to provide proof a check was mailed, or expedite this 3rd check, only stating that is the system.

I have filed my taxes my entire life, either paid my taxes due or collected my refund. In 1 year, thanks to the IRS I have lost everything and putting my Health at further risk. The air conditioner has gone out in my car, and I can not even get that fixed thanks to the IRS and their crappy system.

I am sure every employee I have talked to is going home to their home, eating a nice dinner and sleeping in their beds. I have worked my entire life to have that same luxury until the IRS is unable to deliver my refund to me.

Theft. Text book definition of extortion.

This is the most convoluted, irritating screwed up system I've ever seen? it's like a circle jerk. Nothing works and I mean nothing works! You go in circles and I think it's designed this way by incompetent fools! Then you try to get them on the phone and it's another Merry go around with no end!

how can it take this long to try to ask for clarification from a real person? I'm only trying to get you to take more of my money. jesus. no wonder people get irritated -- an hour and a half and still on hold. ffs.
