We have hired vans from Jafvans for many years and find them efficient with excellent vehicles, good prices and friendly service. We would not use anyone else.

***BE CAREFUL***

I had a really disappointing experience with Jafvans.

After several calls and emails where I clearly requested a 9 seater van, I was reassured on the phone that everything was confirmed and that no deposit was required (payment due on collection).

Then, one day before collection, I discovered the booking had not been finalised. The manager did not return my calls, and the two employees I spoke to could not provide a realistic alternative. At one point they even suggested a 17 seater vehicle, without understanding that this requires a different driving licence.

In the end I had to book elsewhere at the last minute, which cost me over £400.

They may have been great in the past, but based on this experience I would not recommend them. Look elsewhere if you need reliability.

I’ve used Jafvans multiple times over the years - my most frequent: Ruislip, where I’ve always dealt with Dan - he is an absolute pleasure to deal with: Always friendly, polite, thorough and helpful (certainly an asset to the company).
I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Jafvans if you’re in need of vehicle hire.

Arranged a van hire asked about deposit weeks before as Arnold Clarke which I normally use in Sheffield and Sydenham need no deposit as I have insurance waiver. Come down to London to help my daughter move get to counter after double checking even this week got valid ID and dvla check code. Day of removal oh by the way you need a £400 deposit. Used Arnold Clarkes for 5 years thought I would try a closer firm but little kid at counter very irresponsible as if they have a problem they should be upfront about it as 2 of my boys are travelling down from elsewhere. Now it will get all sorted out but the lack of managerial skills in some of these small business is something you have to anticipate which I did. But bad organisation and older vans tell their own story. Never again.

I had my little Toyota Yaris Hybrid for 80 days… Great car, fantastic service, friendly staff and Charn is so wonderful there. No pressure or scare tactics like other dealers about insurance and damage etc . Great competitive rates .

When you hire a van from Jafvans, you will notice that they are completely covered with scratches, dents and damage on every body panel, wheels and roof. I have a 360 degree video to show this. This is not a problem in itself as you're not hiring the van to go to a wedding. BUT, it is a serious problem when you return the van and they charge you £360 for any scratches that you make to it. They are essentially charging clients again and again and again for damage to the same body panels of the vehicle while not repairing that damage. This is their business model. The £320 I paid would have been £720 if I hadn't paid their excess reduction payment which doesn't eliminate the excess. but only halves it. They don't allow you to pay extra to completely remove the insurance excess. Why would they? It's a fundamental part of how they earn their money. This contrasts with Zipcar where you can hire a local van for 24 hours for £125 and pay £28 extra which completely removes the excess. Such a different experience and you get the petrol included in the price too! If you don't want a very nasty surprise at the end of your van hire, steer well clear of this company.
