Morgan is so lovely! It was my first time doing the class and I loved it Morgan definitely knows what he’s doing !!

Great gym with amazing facilities. Doing PT sessions lessons with Elliott who’s great at his job. I’m massively noticing the difference in a short period of time.

Good gym, probably could do with more steppers but WHY IS THE MUSIC SO LOUD! I have noise cancelling headphones and can still hear it. People like to listen to their own music no?

Gym is fine it’s just the putrid smell from the men’s changing room even when nobody is in it. Needs to be sorted, feel dirtier after the shower than before cause of the smell

Before I started I did not have clue what do where to start, all I knew is that I want to lose weight, but the staff Elliot helped me and teached me how to reach my goals, I have lost 10kg in 3 months and I feel more confident every time go gym everyday. I finally now have a better understanding on what I need to do at the gym and what to eat, but if you are someone like me not sure what to I would ask staff or contact them, they are really nice, thankyou to my trainer Elliot you have brilliant.

Ignorant staff gym has too many machines it’s a cluttered mess, manager is aggressive when real issues effect the gym, complained to HO and they didn’t even bother contacting me so cancelled my membership

I’ve never really felt confident in a gym before, but this place has completely changed that for me. The staff are so friendly and approachable, and there’s always someone available if you need help or advice. It makes such a difference walking in and feeling welcome instead of intimidated. There’s also a great variety of equipment and options, whether you want to do weights, cardio, or try out classes, so there’s something for everyone. I honestly feel so much more comfortable here than I ever have in any other gym – highly recommend!

I’ve been a member for a while now and honestly couldn’t be happier! Recently things seem to have changed for the better, the staff have been so friendly and welcoming — they always take the time to chat, offer help, and make you feel part of the gym community.

The equipment is always clean and well looked after, and I’m really impressed by how often staff are out on the floor tidying weights and helping members. The changing areas are spotless too, which really shows how much pride they take in the place.

There’s such a positive, motivating atmosphere — it’s a great environment to train in. I actually look forward to coming in! Would 100% recommend to friends and family.

Since starting St Helens JD gym in March 2025 I have improved my overall fitness, wellbeing and lost a bunch of weight. JD has helped me get this far with their excellent staff who are always friendly and are approachable if you need to speak with them. There is a great range of machines, free weights and always a quiet area to do your own thing, plenty of cardio machines. The machines get fixed as soon as the parts are in. 24 hours opening times so it can fit around work. The gym is always clean and presentable, the AC could be better, It's either you freeze on the treadmill underneath it or get really hot next to it or where it isn't. The changing rooms have a funny smell to them, my guess is the shower mats and there is only one personal changing room not near the showers. I don't really like walking barefoot by the bathroom ☣️.
I have had some personal sessions with Elliot Supria, he's a great laid back guy who has helped me become stronger and has helped me develop a better gym routine following his advice and I have had fun learning a bit about boxing on JDs punching bags. Thank you Elliot.

I’ve been a member since January 2023. However, there has been some vast improvements in recent weeks.

The staff are attentive, keeping the gym clean and tidy! They’re friendly, approachable and actually listen to feedback.

Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a gym that’s welcoming and well-run.

Rumour has it that the manager can bake a decent brownie too! 🍫

Good level of equipment. Plenty of space. Friendly staff. Clean and tidy. Parking situation is a bit harsh 2 hours is all you get. I feel JD could negotiate better with the owners of the parking to allow signed in members longer (as is the case in other establishments). Otherwise would be 5 stars.

Poor management, had a new process to gain access to the gym St Helens, when I couldn’t gain access to the gym the manager who was clearly having a bad day said” I don’t care how long you have been a member you should now the new process” and walk off leaving me at the point of entry all this and I never said a word, the new process was a new QR code that had to be scanned as his staff were letting people in with cancelled membership, the gym is small and over crowed with far to many machines, any standards that were in place when it was exercise for less have been forgotten, such as bringing bags into the gym and blocking fire exits, parking is a disgrace members parking in disabled spaces, members parking in mothered and children spaces and even making there own bays up blocking any emergency vehicles from gaining access if needed, this gym is unmanaged and needs a change of some staff.

Pec machine has been out of use for weeks and although the staff have raised the issue ,nobody knows why it hasn't been repaired or when it is going to be repaired ...

Gyms are oversubscribed. Not enough machines. Toilet cleanliness is non-existent at St Helens JD Gym.

JD Gym at St.Helens isn't a bad Gym one thing where a lot of members have left or the biggest complaint is the CARPARK. If you are over the stated 2hrs you have to pay a £70 fine
This is OUTRAGEOUS, DISGRACEFUL & DISGUSTING. JD have done absolutely NOTHING to amend it.
The gym however isn't to bad the staff barr 1 are amazing. Only two toilets in the ladies.

Terrible customer service. I have emailed them to enquire on a couple of points, received 1 response not at all informative. I followed up with a further query, no response.
Shame as its a lovely gym. Staff make the experience also, very poor
