I've been intrigued with the idea of writing my life story. Now that I'm retired I have time to think about my life and various adventures. My daughter gave me a memoir-writing program, and I started with high hopes. Unfortunately, the prompts were boring and, somehow, my stories became boring too!

Then Joanna told me about her 12-week program, “Uncover the Hidden Gems in Your Life Story.” Now that sounded enticing!

Each week Joanna introduced a new topic with questions that made me stop, think, and look at my experiences in a different way. Her warmth and gentle guidance made it easy to dig a little deeper. I also really enjoyed the small Zoom group. Hearing other people's stories, ideas, and questions helped me look at my own stories differently.

The biggest surprise was how my writing changed. Before, I mostly wrote about what happened. Now I think about how I felt, what I learned, and how an experience changed me. I'm still not a great writer, but with Joanna's questions in my head, I'm writing much more interesting and dynamic stories. It's bringing me bring peace, acceptence and clarity.
I'm really uncovering a lot of my hidden gems in my life story.
Another bonus is that Joanna offers lifetime access to the program. Since I'm still writing new chapters, being able to go back to her lessons and prompts whenever I need them is a huge benefit.

Journey to Legacy was a powerful experience for me. While it was easy to remember the major events in my life, the course helped me uncover smaller moments and details that proved pivotal in shaping how I viewed situations and responded to them.

The process of writing my story helped fill in the gaps where memories were foggy and emotions were still unresolved. It allowed me to reflect on experiences I had buried and find a greater sense of understanding and peace.

One of the most meaningful outcomes was that it opened the door to deeper conversations with my brother about experiences we shared growing up. We were able to talk about how each of us felt, how we experienced those events differently, and what they meant to us. Those conversations brought us closer together and gave me a deeper appreciation for our relationship.

I highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to understand their life story better, gain new perspective on past experiences, and create a meaningful legacy for future generations.

Joanna is an amazing coach and is so compassionate about leading in writing our legacy. She presents the writing journey in such a way that the words just keep flowing. Truly a gift to be able to write our stories to share with others is wonderful!

At first I thought it would just be a fun thing to write down a few of my stories and share with my grandkids or adult children. Suddenly my memories carried me on an amazing 3-D journey of my life, as if I were truly 'time-travelling' through decades, phases, friendships, romances, historical events, discoveries, foreign countries, disappointments, successes, relationships, revelations and exciting episodes of my 70+-year lifetime as a female human being on planet Earth. I wouldn't trade the memories that were stirred and found their way to the pages of my legacy journal for anything -- even if no one ever reads them but me!

As a result of my classes at Journey to Legacy I feel more motivated to keep writing. I feel more confident in how to develop interesting stories worth sharing. I came to realize that my stories are important and unique and we all have challenges, successes and failures in our lifetime. My life "failures" don't seem so much like failures now, but more like steps to wisdom and maturity, and they deserve to be owned.

I have taken both the Life Review class and Joanna's memoir writing class and loved both. They helped me to dig deeper into my past and understand patterns -- and ultimately understand myself better. The beauty of the memoir class was writing and sharing the writing -- it focussed the work and made it more real. Joanna's feed back was insightful. She could see in my stories something that I had not been able to see for myself. I highly recommend these courses to anyone who wants to understand their past.

In 2004, I had a brainstem stroke that left me locked in — unable to speak or move. I type one letter at a time. I have been working on my memoir ever since. I had been trying to write it for twenty-one years. I had hundreds of documents in a Dropbox folder — journal entries, blog posts, texts to my kids, lesson notes — but I couldn't find the shape of the story.

While taking Journey to Legacy's life story writing course with Joanna Klein, something shifted. I started writing with feeling again, not just facts. And then Joanna helped me find the foundation for the book that was already there inside of all my writing.

I took Joanna's 12 week Life in Review course in January. I was looking for a course for the new year to kind of shake things up for me and perhaps open me up to new opportunities. Joanna's course did just that and more.
Each week there was a new agenda to explore. The topics prompted a lot of self exploration of where I was, Where I am and where I choose to go.
It prompted me to make changes to situations that just aren't working, and adopt new approaches that are far more beneficial to me. A whole new way of looking at thins.
It opened me up to "going big with my life" and saying yes to everything(well within reason!)

The Journeytolegacy course on writing life stories has exceeded my highest expectations!
