Kids Discover Reviews

We enjoyed or free trial that we are making this a regular part of our homeschool curriculum! I appreciate the assessments and guidelines with additional information suggestions. The information is easy to navigate, and is arranged in a concise, easy-to-follow manner.

Kids Discover Online is our favorite library resource!

A great product for homeschool families. Easily customizable and easy to track progress.

Quick, clear, easy.

My searching is over for History and Science. I love it!

I love being able to look at the standards and pick which units I want to cover for the standards. I also love the layout and the quick quizzes help me to see if my students are comprehending what they read.

relevant articles and can be tailored to a student's reading level; allows for independent exploration as well as use by teacher in the classroom

I love that they can be assigned to students and students can also explore articles themselves.

Three lexile levels enables us to use articles for guided reading. Alignment to NGSS standards enables me to integrate literacy and science. The units on U.S. history and Native Americans are excellent for our social studies! I teach fifth grade.

I love being able to assign texts for my students using Lexile levels. The graphics are interesting, helpful, and age-appropriate. My students enjoy reading the articles about ancient civilizations. The quiz with each article helps me to assess which concepts my students understand and where more review is needed. I also like the fact that I can reassign any quiz after we have explored the topic further.

I find that when reading an article, the screen covers the photos. Also when used text to speech, irrelevant information is also read. It's distracting.

Kids Discover offers some of the best content and visuals available! I do wish the quiz scores could be more accessible -- perhaps all of one student at a time, or the ability to reorder alphabetically, etc. would be helpful when trying to enter grades.

I love all the online resources including lesson plans.

My students love exploring all of the interesting topics, and they especially love the interactive features imbedded into each article. As a teacher, I love all of the reading tools that help all students have a successful reading experience.

Kids Discover is an amazing resource for my students to have access to. It offers a wide range of topics that will appeal to the interest of most any elementary and middle school student. I like that the quizzes are quick and offer instant feedback. Another great feature is students have the ability to adjust the reading level to best suit their needs. The pictures and interactive graphics only add the engagement.

The content is specific, organized well and supported by great images and questions.
Setting up my classes and assigning content took a bit of practice and lots of trial and error, but students are able to use the tasks easily and enjoy the practice.

The process of upgrading to an annual membership was smooth and easy!

We recently purchased on an online subscription to use for our homeschool social studies curriculum. We've been using the site for about 3 weeks now. The information available is great. The teacher's guides and power vocabulary are super helpful. We have purchased a few of the magazines as well. Having only one child using the site we signed up for the most basic monthly package. Unfortunately each time we log in we have to search for the unit we want and there isn't a way to track what has already been read. But outside of that it is easy to navigate and my 8 year old is really enjoying the articles. The only other suggestion that I have is that it would be wonderful if there was on option to create a package of 10-20 magazines based on the units we decide to use at a discounted price. Probably a bit tricky to set up logistically but would be a really neat feature to use along with the website.
