I’m very pleased with their service. Their pricing was competitive, and the team was efficient and professional to work with. They completed the project as quoted, and what stood out most was their responsiveness. When regulations changed, I returned nine months later for their sign-off on their own work, which they provided on the same day.

They were in contact with building control on my behalf and had the plans approved. I then contacted them with some other queries my contractor had as things progressed, and they replied immediately. Had some structural drawings for open plan have to say no advisory on any safety measures with fire risk etc council planner said the drawing was not great contacted the engineer from the company to get advice and was told I’ll be getting a call to discuss it’s been over 2 weeks and still no call the after service is poor to non existent I’ve had to pay someone else now to finalise as I can’t wait any longer you have been warned.

Worked with Lance on the removal of a load bearing wall in my flat. The guys were a pleasure to deal with and very knowledgeable. Would highly recommend them and I will definitely be using them again on future projects.

Lance Structures was recommended to me by the builder I used for the project on my house I purchased last year. The work involved the removal of 2 load bearing walls downstairs (one of which was the chimney breast) to make the full downstairs open plan, and a redesign of the bathroom upstairs to make it bigger and a more functional space.
The services provided were superb. They were very professional. I had an idea of what I wanted to do with the house, the structural engineer was able to take this and develop a better plan and made recommendations, for the bathroom in particular, I hadn’t previously thought of. The drawings he produced were spot on and after the initial wait for acceptance by the council were approved very quickly with minimal alterations required.

Quality of initial set of structural drawings were ok. Once in the time critical construction stage, when prompted with enquiries, responses took weeks. Our builder changed approach and proceeded to install supports for chimney breast using gallows brackets as opposed to the steels designed. A a picture of the builders work was sent, showing some worrying deflection of supports and no response was received or direction of approach for months. Finally, at my prompt and request, a site survey was instructed. I was made aware on the visit, that the structural engineer and builder were discussing about me, to my disappointed since I am the client of Lance structures. I expected them to have told the builder to not have proceeded without design drawings from a qualified engineer. Lance Structures also kept saying this was a building control issue, which is not true as building control needed a set of approved drawings to qualify the installation. Post visit, I was immediately presented with an invoice, without any effort to provide a summary of their finding or conclusions. Overall their attitude was ok, but the lack of customer care and commitment would make this my first and last time to employ their services.
