Beware if under contract! Our contract automatically renewed once the 1 year contract was up, and renewed into another 1 year contract. No one sent us a courtesy email, or phone call. Upon learning of the automatic renewal, we immediately contacted customer service, and they refused to refund, by saying via email: "I’m afraid we can’t cancel those since you agreed to the purchase. Our ToU clearly state that you need to cancel this before the renewal date. Not only did you not cancel, you agreed to the purchase." What a rip off and a waste of money. Over $1,000 down the drain for a system we do not even use anymore.

Impressed with usability, thus far

I think the Lansweeper core product is great, and we're able to get a good amount of information using the asset properties or reporting functions. I do like the "web 1.0" look of the Lansweeper console, because so much detailed information is packed into one view, but there are probably some optimizations to be had on improving the views and usability. Having a "dark mode" for the webpage would be great.

Impressive breadth of information

Impressive breadth of information. We were looking to focus more on our inventory and Lansweeper looked like the best option. We tried it out and were impressed. The breadth of information gathered for Windows machines is impressive. There is less information gathered for Linux and Mac OS but pulling it all together in one place has been a big plus. We decided to go with an agent deployment with small, local scanning servers for Asset Radar (listening only) purposes which is working great. I provided some feedback on a few items and one has already been fixed. The support people were responsive and helpful. We are fairly new in our deployment having used Lansweeper for about 2 months so far.

Poor sales tactics and implementation support

Date of experience is a general date. I do not have specific dates and providing feedback on our experience as a whole.
I have had experience with Lansweeper in prior companies and I like the product itself. The experienced sales tactics are the stereotyped aggressive used car salesman and all about entrapping and cost driven. I actually expect a cost driven approach to a degree but the experienced sales tactics almost resulted in us finding a different solution. Not all details were disclosed before going through purchase processes that delayed moving forward timely. An example is the cost model being in batches of 2k licenses and not a 1:1 or 2:1 per asset, which is true but only in batches of 2k. Also support for initial install was found to be through a third party and not included with initial purchase. These would result in increased costs and requesting additional funds from what was approved.
There are some in my organization that do not want to take this approach so our initial implementation is a test use case that was thought to be simple to prove the tool meets our needs. We are targeting only certain hardware (printers) to fill a gap within our existing solution. If Lansweeper can be proven to be successful, it could result in expanding our scope and growing the Lansweeper solution. Unfortunately, if our test is successful, it would not be because Lansweeper helped build the solution.
This is my second complaint with support from Lansweeper is extremely lacking. Collaboration with basic guidance for install would have saved a lot of time and solution would already be in place. It is my understanding that Lansweeper's website has been somewhat helpful but Lansweeper's support as a whole has left us figuring out a lot more ourselves than planned. This is resulting in longer than planned implementation. Example is with certain vendors (Zebra which is an industry standard) not returning a serial number in expected field. I think this would be something that Lansweeper has a solution for and us not have to figure out.
My team has provided positive feedback on the Lansweeper product itself but expressed frustration with having to figure out items that Lansweeper should already have as a built in solution.

Great results the first time with minimal configuration!

After our initial install of Lansweeper, the simple configuration of IP scanning ranges along with credentials produced immediate results with great information after the very first scan! Obviously, more tweaking and fine tuning needs to be performed to customize the what, when, and where of all of our devices. We now have a truer picture of what our Enterprise Inventory is and a much easier way to maintain it.

Great selection of features

Great selection of features. Initial setup was fast and fairly straightforward. The ease with which you can administer machines and manage inventory, plus the integration between ticketing and inventory and the advanced scanning features mean we were able to replace three separate tools with this one package.

Fortunately, Lansweeper has not jumped on the current bandwagon of making interfaces that look pretty but slow down productivity. Most functions can be gotten to with a few clicks, no secret hidden menus, no swooping animations or other gee-whiz nonsense. This is a practical, useful tool for fast and efficient work, it's not a marketing presentation, and I appreciate that.

Navigation is easy, and you can get to most items in multiple ways depending on where you are.

Overall the documentation is pretty good, but there are some weak spots, and some features weren't described well enough in the documentation. A search of the support forums usually finds an answer fairly quickly so this isn't a big problem.

Some features and functions require server-side configuration. That's not a big deal for me, but it could be an obstacle for some.

Some of the out-of-the-box default options are oddly specific or outdated, such as the default ticket close dialog, which we ended up removing a lot of irrelevant options from.

All in all, this is the best helpdesk solution I've used in a SMB environment.

This is an excellent IT tool

This is an excellent IT tool - we now have a fully automated inventory system that not only saves time but has allowed us to better manage our compliance. The helpdesk is OK but not as powerful as the inventory element.

The Product works well but support is lacking somewhat

The Product works well. It give us insight to our assets that we never had before. Unfortunately the company's support is not up to the standard of their product. If you have an issue tech support sends you a URL to read. I have been using the product at a multi hospital environment. Due to the amount of devices on our network we have had some issues. At the time of writing this review the tech support department does not have phone support. They are responsive when you email an issue to support at lansweeper. They send back URLs for your review and use. We have managed to get around many of the issues although we still have some that have not been resolved. We are scanning approximately 25000 devices. If tech support would have phone support I believe problem solving would be quicker. Overall Lansweeper is a great and very useful product.
