Customer service is shocking …tried to make enquiries to buy a car from them
And they just didn’t bother replying or getting in touch with me …

Bought a Discovery on line, initially process was smooth, within a month the clutch went and EGR valve needed replaced, work was done under warranty, car was away for 10 ten days, when I queried this I got a long explanation about their workload etc, seemingly I should be grateful the car was being repaired! A courtesy car was mentioned but never materialised, calls went unanswered or rejected and emails ignored, had to cancel family holiday involving a long drive. Car was eventually returned. I asked for a two year warranty to be provided FOC, I was given 18 months.
Two months in after repeatedly chasing for the V5 it has now turned up having been registered to the wrong address.
Buying a car, even secondhand, is stressful but was made much worse having to deal with Lawson Motors.
I would avoid unless you live close by to them and have the time to chase them up.

Travelled from North Wales to see a Mercedes at the Congleton branch.
Problem number one ? trying to find anywhere to park. Yes it's true , they have dozens of cars to sell, they have so many cars the place is packed. Every square inch is taken up with vehicles for sale. When it comes to parking facilities for the customer....
After hanging around I managed to get the car keys then hunt around for the car. Asked a Lawson employee if he could help. In short, No. Found car. turned ignition on. Fault with auxiliary battery. If this is the start..
Tried to find someone to talk to. Four members of staff talking in the most disorganised office I've seen. Box's of paperwork on the floor. Couldn't help but think this is a tempury site. I couldn't get any help. Left the car keys on a desk and departed. Won't be going back.

I don’t understand the reviews I’m reading on here. My experience with these guys on all the cars I’ve bought from them over the years has been excellent. My latest purchase of a car for my daughter had an issue with the air con and they took it back, gave me a courtesy car, and got it sorted straight away. Top marks.

Brilliant service

Words cant say how disappointed I am with lawson motor company I purchased a vauxhall mokka x from them.we took delivery 24 june 2026 so far to date broken front leather seat passenger side washer bottle that dont work how did it pass its mot with that paint of the front bumper that just fell off just with a sponge and hose in fairness only a small bit but still fell off .we got the car off lawson cos we did not want any stress because of my partner with and I'm not saying this lightly a severe heart condition and Matthew has not help in anyway to sort anything out it's like we have been left to sort it all out . And Mathew was very rude when he was spoken to by myself and didn't respond to a WhatsApp message the as sent on the 28 June 2026. I dont like putting things like this but we have had no help or any understanding in the situation we are in we are both very disappointed in the turn of events considering the amount of money we spend just short of Ten thousand pounds would of thought a better service

Don’t buy from here, brought a car a year ago have had tons of issues with car since, told me they put a new exhaust on the car and it’s failed on every point of the exhaust. Had to get a new gear box within the first couple of months aswell, never known a garage to be so unreliable. Got young kids in the car when the gear box went.

I just hope we have not been sold a wrong one!
The purchasing went smoothly with Mal and Gary and !!
We didn't get chance to test drive the Range Rover Evoque so my daughter went back a few days later and was told "it wasn't convenient!"
The car came with a new MOT and service!
On the day of collection at a time given by Mal we waited 45 minutes longer due to it being cleaned!
On picking up we were just handed the keys by Mal! That's it no nice talk about the car etc!
On driving approx 7 miles we noticed a knocking from the nearside rear!
Contact LMC straight away and the car was booked in under warranty.
LMC had it for 3 days and Mal on a phone call told me it was the lower suspension arm!
On picking up the car another employee gave us the keys and I asked him why did this suspension get through the MOT? His reply!! "I ONLY WORK 2 DAYS A WEEK!
The car had travelled 40 miles during the warranty work and at no time did LMC offer any compensation.
Buying a new car even though second hand should be an exciting experience so let's hope so!!

I BOUGHT A CAR FROM THIS COMPANY AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING AT ALL WRONG WITH THIS VEHICLE WAS ORIGINALLY INFORMED THAT I PAYED FOR THIS ON DELIVERY AFTER PAYING £500 DEPOSIT THEN THE DAY BEFORE I RECEIVED A CALL FROM ANOTHER GUY WITHIN THE BRANCH SAYING THEY NEEDED PAYMENT BEFORE DELIVERY. I WAS A BIT DUBIOUS BUT ALL THE SAME ENDED UP PAYING. I AM FUMING THERE IS DAMAGE ALL OVER THE CAR SCRAPES THAT NEED REPAIRING IF I HAD SEEN IN THE SHOWROOM I WOULD HAVE EITHER PASSED OR AGREED WITH DEALER TO GET THESE ALL SORTED BEFORE PURCHASE. THE CAR NEEDS A DETAILED BUFFER FOR SURE!! I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT THERE WERE SPECIFIC TYRES ON THE VEHICLE AND TURNS OUT ONLY THE REAR HAD THESE. I FEEL CHEATED TO SAY THE LEAST AND NOW HAVING TO CHASE FOR THESE REPAIRS TO BE SORTED AND RECTIFIED AND AM NOT GETTING A SATISFACTORY RESPONSE TIME WITH MY MESSAGES I AM SENDING.

Very disappointing experience with Lawson Motor Company. We purchased a Range Rover Evoque in October 2025 under the assurance it had a full service history, a full service completed before collection, and no issues. Unfortunately, this was far from the case.

The car was in poor condition on collection, with cosmetic damage and a faulty key. Although these were eventually addressed, further problems quickly followed, including battery failure and non-working front and rear cameras—issues that existed from the start. Communication was poor, with delays, unreturned calls, and excuses about being too busy to resolve faults.

An independent inspection later revealed additional problems, and we also discovered the car had only received an interim service, not the full service promised. To make matters worse, the V5C registration was not correctly transferred.

After multiple returns and ongoing issues, we have lost all confidence in this company. Based on our experience, we would strongly advise others to proceed with caution.

Very disappointed after waiting for over 3 days for a valuation for my car sending all required information to the dealership I would have expected some sort of reply. I can’t understand when you show an interest in buying a car that they don’t respond to the purchaser. Not a good way to do business…

Strange experience with a car here. The guy in here said the car was within a Kia 7 year warranty and he had a full service history. I asked to see the service papers and suddenly the papers were missing. He said he spoke to Kia and they stated the car was in warranty anyway and there was nothing to worry about. I called Kia myself to verify this about this specific car and they said it was not protected and this was not true. Then stated "I'm not forcing you to buy the car". Just felt really dishonest and I wouldn't buy a car from someone like that. Strange strange guy.

Couldn’t have been more helpful when looking for a vehicle. Discussed what I wanted and was offered a couple of options. Decided on one and couldn’t be more happy with my choice. Excellent service and staff were pleasant and extremely helpful.

Saw 2 Range Rovers on Autotrader, travelled over an hour to view with intent to buy. First car viewed had an ENGINE MANAGEMENT light on, NO FUEL in car. Second car on test drive was given the keys with no instructions not shown how to release handbrake on this model. Instantly the BRAKES were so loud. NO FUEL IN CAR for test drive, BATTERY LOW. NO APOLLOGY given. Staff moving cars on reversed into another of their cars and group of employees taking photos and laughing. Me and my husband turned to each other continuously saying 'Where the hell are we?!!!'

Grateful they were so visible with their lack of professionalism and that we didn't drive away with one of their faulty cars.

Today have rang to report to the manager who also was not forth coming with apologising. After saying a load of excuses, I had to say 'what I am hearing from you is no apology'

EDIT- so to be fair to Lawson motors ,David and Mal have restored my confidence - since the first review the above gentlemen have been extremely helpful in resolving a few issues which I have had.
They have covered the cost of local repairs rather than me doing a near 100 mile round trip saving time and money.
I will admit if you want to get something done … speak to them they are fantastic so I have revised my overall score.

Wish I could give a zero star.First off looked to arrange a viewing didn’t even bother to move it or defrost it to view it properly.
Had a known fault which they said would be sorted aswell as a FULL service .
After 2 weeks of waiting , picked up the vehicle to find the cabin filter full of leaves , within 120 miles the fault returned . Upon inspection the front had been glued back together and the radar system hanging loose.
It is IMPOSSIBLE to get a reply via email for a paper trail as clearly they don’t want it .
I have started a formal case with the motor ombudsmen as the lack of professionalism and poor business practice after spending near 20 thousand pounds on a vehicle is shocking.
I no longer trust them or their workman ship so have no gone else where for the repairs .
If they decide to get it sorted I will look to change this !

Jack the highly rude salesman should never be selling cars the way he speaks to customers !

Over 6 month we have been waiting for a private reg that was taken off out car that we part exchanged which still hasn’t been sent back over to us , last time I spoke to jack he stated was “what do you want me to do about it , it’s the customer that bought your car that needs to send it back”

Communication has been terrible from day one all he cares about is getting a sale and the after sales care has been shocking from him !
The way he speaks to customers is disgusting !!!

Buyers should be aware that HPI checks only cover finance, theft and insurance write-offs and do not include damage history or mileage discrepancies.

I was in the process of purchasing two vehicles from this dealership and withdrew from both purchases after payment had been made just prior to vehicle collection, following independent checks.

One vehicle was marketed as HPI clear, however an independent CarVertical report identified a recorded front-end damage incident dated March 2025. Visible condition issues were consistent with this history, suggesting the damage may not have been fully rectified. This information was not disclosed during the sales process and only came to light after payment had been made.

Due to the resulting loss of trust and transparency, I also withdrew from the second vehicle, which independently showed a mileage discrepancy on history checks.

The refund process was poorly handled, with delays, repeated requests for information already supplied, and a lack of timely written confirmation. Refunds were only completed after persistent follow-up, adding unnecessary stress to what should have been a straightforward process.

Based on my experience, I would advise buyers to exercise caution, carry out independent history checks, and ensure all terms and refund arrangements are confirmed in writing.

A great experience. The staff are lovely and very helpful - particularly Mal who is an asset to the company.

As i come to the end of my lease I find out yet again how important it is to read contracts carefully. Tilsun will say one thing via email but the contract will specify something less. Maintenance doesn't mean maintained, it does give a basic dealership service package. Again double speak. The finance package may be presented as a lease but so many caveats exist it becomes a glorified rental, most of which you will only find out when you come across an issue. I was also shocked to find out that despite the car not being due an MOT you are expected to return it with 3 months . Never in 11 from new lease vehicles have I seen this.
Read the contract, double check against what they agreed and ensure its present, but its easier to just deal with a company that doesn't operate sharp practices.

Tried to call this company many times,nobody picked up the phone. GOOD LUCK guys .If sales can't be bothered, what are there after sales like?
