Easy process from start to finish. Everyone in the team helped me along the way with any questions I had (and I had a lot!). UPDATED REVIEW: After an initial poor review, I am now a satisfied customer.
Excellent sales pitch - poor after sales care once they have your money. Two work colleagues and I invested a considerable sum of money in a number of Irish and Scottish whiskey/whiskey casks in September 2023 and despite numerous (unanswered) emails and phone calls asking for updates on our purchases, they still have no idea where our casks are. Utterly shambolic.
When you buy a cask of Scottish whisky from London Cask Traders you assume they know who is selling it and where it is located. This doesn’t appear to be the case. Lesson learned, but how can this be right?!
My response to your reply Mark:
Meaningless platitudes, that’s all you’ve offered in your reply. Yes, I’ve finally been told verbally where my casks are, but almost 4 months later I have no evidence whatsoever to prove they are where your admin office say they are (I’m not saying they are lying, but I’m old enough and ugly enough to not take what people say at face value without something to back it up - especially when £50k is involved).
I only received a WhatsApp recorded message reply from B because of my original review here on Trustpilot. And in that same WhatsApp recording (which I still have) he asked me to remove this review….unbelievable. That’s not really the point of Trustpilot - that would make it ‘DoNotTrustpilot’!
I am still waiting for the application pack email from the bonded warehouse regarding my 6 casks of Irish whiskey.
As for saying I can call you, I have emailed you directly asking if we can talk one-to-one. No reply. I’ve copied you in on at least two of my emails to AA and you’ve not seen fit to step in and deal with my concerns. As I said, platitudes, to anyone reading my review. I wouldn’t recommend your business to anyone thinking of investing with London Cask Traders - in fact quite the opposite. Stay clear. Readers of this review should also be aware that sadly, I am not alone. Three of my work colleagues who invested at almost exactly the same time are experiencing the very same issues.
Simply not good enough.
Update as of 24 April 2024. I received notification that my casks had arrived at their intended bonded warehouse (I have since been to see the cask at Volpe & Costello). In addition, I also received the 'Certificates of Ownership'. While it took a great deal longer than I had anticipated for the whole process to be completed, I am now a satisfied customer.

Firstly, apologies for the delay on your cask movement and the stress this has caused, it is never our intention to delay the transportation of your casks.
I understand you have been a client since September 2023 and not all of your casks have been transported to our warehouse yet however do understand sometimes there are delays. This happens particularly around the festive period where distilleries, suppliers and hauliers are at maximum operational capacity due to increased demand of transfers, bottlings and cask deliveries.
Please have peace of mind that your casks are safe and secure and maturing at the distillery of origin.
The warehouse has emailed you today to confirm their acknowledgment of your cask delivery which is due to be booked in ASAP. We have been CC’d into this email from the warehouse.
Whilst 99% of our clients receive their deliveries on time and cases like this being very rare, unfortunately, cask movement delays are inherent within the industry and we do all we can to alleviate these delays.
But please do understand you did leave your review on New Years Eve whilst the team were on annual leave and unable to deal with your request, and we’ve been back and forth with yourself and the warehouse since to fix this issue and ensure you get your certificates from the warehouse.
As explained, your casks are safely stored and maturing optimally at the distillery and will be in our warehouse very shortly at which point you'll receive your ownership documents, a private client account at the warehouse and a Delivery Order (DO).
Once again apologies for the delay but unfortunately these rare occurances are completely out of our control as we are relying on third party warehouses and their schedules. I will be in touch shortly to update you on the cask delivery date.
You will also hear from the warehouse once you reply to their email with your application forms - I also apologies about the delay on them getting in touch with you, this is something I’ve notified the warehouse manager on personally.

** UPDATED 01.08.24** After writing a 3* review back on July…
UPDATED** Since this review the Managing Director got involved and helped push this along and within 8 weeks the cask was in it's location at a different warehouse (through no fault of theirs) and was registered in my name. Can't fault Oliver at all and he definitely made me feel a little more at ease about the process, he assured me that this was a rare incident and that it wouldn't happen again. I have also been designated a different Senior Account Manager named Billy who has also been amazing and between them managed to resolve this issue. Have since had a guide valuation and it seems to have progressed quite nicely. Decided to upgrade this from a 1 star to a 3 due to his help but not ignoring the initial issue.
After writing a 3* review back on July 24th I thought I'd write a follow up review downgrading to 1*.
So my review was submitted on July 24th. Funnily enough after complaining about a complete lack of after service I received an email a few hours later (coincidence?). This email gave me an update on my cask, even though after 4 months it still hadn't moved from it's original storage place. I was told that after my initial review they prioritised my e-mail but were planning on contacting me that day anyway, I was also told that their Director had tried to contact me that day and previously one of their Head of Portfolio Managers had tried to contact me on a number of occasions. Not one voicemail was left and not one e-mail was sent, considering a number of times they couldn't contact me.
I've left it a further 4 months after not being contacted and I decided to e-mail them again last week, (e-mail dated 15th November) and again have not received a reply. I'm hoping that after the success my last review had in getting some kind of response that this one will provide the same success. It's now been 37 weeks and I don't have a clue where my Cask is or what the hell is going on. I have money put aside for future investments as I'm convinced Whisky is a good purchase but I certainly won't be investing though London Cask Traders after this experience. Please do a bit of research before deciding to invest.

Firstly, apologies for the delay on your cask movement and the stress this has caused, it is never our intention to delay the transportation of your casks. Whilst 99% of our clients receive their Delivery Orders on time and cases like this being very rare, unfortunately, cask movement delays are inherent within the industry.
This could be due to any of the following reasons;
- Our supplier insists the cask must be transported to a 3rd party warehouse prior to issuing us the Delivery Order (DO).
- Our supplier refuses to transport casks to certain warehouses
- The haulier forgets to reply to our original transport request
- The warehouse are arranging the labelling of the cask
- The bonded warehouse where the cask is lying is closed or under construction
- The cask within the warehouse is 'inaccessible', meaning a potential delay of 3-6 months
- The current warehouse's schedule is too busy, so they cannot prepare the cask for collection for several weeks
- The destination warehouse's schedule is too busy, so they cannot receive the cask for several weeks
- There is an inconsistency with the paperwork which must be rectified between the warehouse/haulier/supplier/customer
- SEED checks must be carried out by the current warehouse on the destination warehouse
As explained to you, your cask is safely stored and maturing optimally at the original warehouse and will be in our warehouse very shortly at which point you'll receive your ownership documents, a private client account at the warehouse and a Delivery Order (DO).
In regards to you not getting a reply to your email, we tried to ring you 5 times in response but you did not answer or return our calls.
Once again apologies for the delay but unfortunately these rare occurances are completely out of our control. I will be in touch shortly to update you on the cask delivery date.

Great experience
I was initially ready to invest is wine for the long term but after doing a bit more reaserch I found whiskey would be a better choice, Ryan at London cask has been top notch in dealing with my inquiries... with the logistics and location of my casks I have no complaints. The certificates arrived within days and Ryan has kept me up to date as I'm a new client.
I have been offered a tour of the distillery which I've yet to do and shall when time allows. I can see myself investing more in the near future. Cheers.

Helpful, Understanding and Friendly experience
Really helpful and friendly company. I spoke with Mark a few months ago who answered all the questions I had. I was in the process of buying my first home so Mark allowed me time to sort that out and then got back in touch with me a few months later when I was ready to invest.
Payment was easy and I received a digital copy of my certificate of ownership by email on the same day and then a welcome pack + physical certificate in the post a couple days later.

Scam?
I have made a significant investment. And although the initial service was OK, now they have my money it's not so good.
I have no proof of cask ownership and no proof that the casks have been moved to the bonded warehouse as promised and keep getting fobbed off when I call.
If I didn't know better I am starting to think this is a scam.
