Couldn't have been better from start to finish. Staff on reception were lovely and so helpful, the whole experience was professional but friendly and warm. Was nervous about the surgery but it was completely fine and Mr Carp couldn't have been more reassuring. Life changing results and have recommended to 4 people who have also already had the procedure and also couldn't be happier.

From day one, the whole experience was absolutely fantastic. From my very first meeting with Tegan, my Patient Care Coordinator, I felt extremely well looked after. She was friendly, professional and reassuring, and made the entire process feel smooth and straightforward from the beginning.

Every member of the team I dealt with was wonderful. The reception staff were always welcoming and helpful, the customer care was exceptional, and everything was handled with real professionalism and attention to detail.

A massive thank you to Dr Glenn Carp, who performed my surgery. He was absolutely brilliant throughout. I felt completely confident and reassured in his care, and I genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Let me take you on my journey, from the beginning to new beginnings…

The London Vision Clinic, a pristine haven, is like stepping into a 100 star spa. State of the art everything, including the energy bars. Scans with machines that look as if they belong in a 2050 version of Star Wars.
The consultation with Mr Darshak Patel, his patience, professionalism, understanding and absolute brilliance. My varifocals, with which I had been struggling, vision now slightly clouded by cataracts, stifling and uncomfortable as I would push my glasses up or lift slightly them off my nose, remove them and try to watch TV, read the paper, check Instagram, none of which worked.
I was booked for the surgery. Then I began to fret. I am not one to scare easily, but I realised that this was a decision entirely of my own choosing. I researched and approached Dr Google, always lurking around every corner. I had no need, because everything was laid out to me with complete transparency during my consultation. So, I waited for a sign, which may have come in so many possibilities. Until the evening before my procedure, when somehow, I just knew that this was right and my fear faded.
On the day, I was nurtured. Anaesthetic dropped carefully into each eye every 15 minutes, a yellow sticker dot placed above my left eyebrow and given a small gift in the form of a tiny tablet of sedation. After a while it was time. I hugged my mum and wandered, at this point slightly off kilter, into the surgery where I was greeted by Mr Patel and nurses. I laid down and a small soft toy fish was placed into my hand, I clutched the comforting state fish of Hawaii, a Moorish Idol, and as we clasped hand and fin, my journey into the incredible began. I surrendered into a world of wonderment, sinking into a place unknown yet so familiar, realising I had written about it, in my book about the centre of the earth, I saw what I had penned, and more, waterfalls of crimson balls with fuzzy edges, mounds of pure white snowy boulders, luminous crystals of vibrant emerald and lustrous silver. It was fascinating and I had a front row seat.
Later, I was taken into the recovery room, laid on the bed, did as my body advised and slept, still clutching my fish. They came to retrieve me at least three times, tried to stand me up, but the sedation drop was still very much in charge of my body, and I was teetering joyously along in another place and time. An hour passed, at which point my feet were complying and we went upstairs. My eyes were covered in shields and tape, and my cousin took us home.
For a week I wore the bedtime shields, and taking my drops as prescribed and directed for a month. My follow up with Mr Patel was the next day. All was perfectly fine. But there’s something else. Something of which I had been unaware for so long. I can see myself, without glasses, without a magnifying mirror. I feel as though I haven’t really seen myself in twenty years.
I am so incredibly grateful. With heartfelt and everlasting thanks to the masterful genius of Mr Patel, his incredible team, nurses, ophthalmologists, technicians, patient care co-ordinator, receptionists.
I 100% recommend this procedure to anybody. This life-enhancing, brilliant, astonishing way that one can now look clearly at the world. And every day, I gaze in wonderment at everything. The time in surgery was truly beautiful, and I shall always remember that world I briefly entered, which left me with a magical gift of a lifetime.
The day after the procedure I picked up a favourite novel and read the first paragraph aloud to my mother.
‘Why are you reading that?’ she asked.
I smiled and said, ‘because I can.’

The whole experience not only was super-professional, but accompanied by an excellent medical outcome and very friendly staff.

Reporting a month after laser eye surgery, I am very pleased with my vision, it’s changed my life in every sense.

Im quite squeamish and avoided contacts for that reason, but the service here at the Vision Clinic is great, they really managed my nerves well, credit to Glenn and the surgery team.

I was eligible for both SMILE & LASIK, and opted for the former, as it is less invasive. The op was very quick, and not painful.

I would recommend a week holiday for the post op as a lot of after care is needed in the first week (the team explained it well)

Don't overthink it - go do it

I have wanted to have my eyes ‘done’ by London Vision Clinic for over 20 years. This year I was finally able to take the plunge and book myself in for Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL) surgery. From the start (now 3 weeks post op) LVC have been faultless. Throughout, I have received fantastic communication, really thorough testing with medical professionals I feel I can trust entirely and nothing was too big an ask. I could easily have gone somewhere cheaper, but the level and quality of care I have received makes every penny worth it - you only get one set of eyes and it is worth investing in them. I’m incredibly happy with the results so far and as someone with a -13 prescription, I am now totally glasses free with 20:20 vision. I never knew what could be achieved. Thank you to London Vision Clinic for truly changing my life.
