Great motorcycles, terrible customer support
I ordered a Maeving RM1S from Maeving this month, and although the bike itself is mostly really great customer support has been terrible to the point where I’m considering returning it.
First, the company failed to actually register or finish setting up the GPS tracker, it ended up taking a week of chasing back and forth to get it enabled.
The website also says everywhere you can either charge the bike directly by plugging it in, or take the batteries out and charge them at home. It conveniently omits to mention that you can’t actually do that without buying an extra accessory. It took over 10 days from the bike arriving to get that, so I couldn’t charge it that whole time. I sent Maeving screenshots of their website and they didn’t care, just said buy it or don’t, so I did and they took 5 days from the time I bought it to bother shipping it.
These would be simple things to resolve, except it’s impossible to get Maeving to answer their phones. I’ve called them at least a dozen times all during their listed business hours for over two weeks and only ever got, after a brief hold, a message saying they couldn’t answer the phone. Their email support at least answer, but take up to a week to do so.
The motorcycles are great, but pray you never need anything from Maeving. This has to be one of the worst support teams in the industry.

It’s honestly the perfect way to get around London. Super easy to ride, low maintenance, and just fun.
The team at Maeving are super friendly and always on hand to help. I once damaged my bike and someone from the team actually came down to London the next day to sort it out in person. Can’t beat that!

I bought my Maeving RM1 over three years ago, and it has completely transformed how I get around London.
As someone who had never ridden a motorbike before, I was a bit nervous about making the leap, but the whole experience—from the initial purchase to getting on the road—was straightforward and reassuring. The bike is smooth, easy to handle, and perfect for city riding. I still look forward to every journey, and it’s held up brilliantly over time. Maeving’s team has been great whenever I’ve had questions, and I genuinely can’t imagine going back to my old commute.

Finally a beautiful electric motorbike. Love my Maeving that I have been riding for over a year now. Perfect for urban commuting and getting about town. I don't think I have ever parked it without at least one person coming over to admire how it looks.

Estremamente delusa dal servizio post-vendita.
È passato oltre un mese da quando ho consegnato la mia moto in officina per una riparazione, e ad oggi non ho ancora ricevuto alcuna soluzione concreta. Inizialmente mi era stato detto che si trattava solo di un ritardo nella spedizione dei pezzi di ricambio, ma in realtà il componente necessario non esiste ancora e deve essere progettato da zero.
Mi sono rivolta sia al servizio clienti di Maeving, sia all'officina Motorgreen, e le versioni fornite sono completamente discordanti: qualcuno sta chiaramente mentendo.
Alla mia richiesta di una moto sostitutiva, mi è stato risposto: “Tutte le Maeving hanno lo stesso problema.”
Una risposta inaccettabile che solleva seri dubbi sulla qualità e affidabilità del prodotto.
Un servizio clienti così opaco e disorganizzato è semplicemente inaccettabile. A breve riceveranno una comunicazione dal mio avvocato.

Extremely disappointed with the after-sales service.
It has been over a month since I handed my motorcycle over to the workshop for repairs, and I still haven’t received any concrete solution. At first, I was told the delay was due to shipping issues, but the truth is that the spare part doesn’t even exist yet and needs to be designed from scratch.
I contacted both Maeving customer service and the Motorgreen workshop, and their explanations are completely contradictory—someone is clearly not telling the truth.
When I asked for a replacement bike, the answer I received was: “All Maeving bikes have the same issue.”
That’s an unacceptable response and raises serious concerns about the product’s quality and reliability.
This level of disorganization and lack of transparency from customer service is simply unacceptable. My lawyer will be contacting them shortly.
I strongly advise against purchasing.
Rm1s delivered yesterday
Rm1s delivered yesterday, i was expecting just a drop off, but driver took his time explaining every aspect of the bike and more, making sure I was happy.
The bike it’s self?
Amazing build quality easy to ride, a fantastic thing for the commute to work.
Looks absolutely stunning as well.
Maeving bike service (RM1)
I have an RM1, and I've had this bike for about 8 months. The bike just had its first service.
Honest 5-star review.
I found the service exceptional and I never write reviews. I needed to do this as found everything faultless, it's just pleasant to have such good customer service.
When Steve delivered my bike when I purchased it he did a brilliant job going through everything, he also picked up my bike and dropped it off at my parent's house as I was at work for its service. They also found him extremely professional and polite.
I have a 32-mile commute to work, and it's a joy to ride this bike.
Love using it
The bike is okay. I have the RMS1. Expensive for the performance. If I was making the choice again, I suspect I'd choose to spend a few grand on a second hand petrol bike and a good quality electric bicycle. I'd still end up with a few grand spare from what I'll spend on the RMS1 (once finance is taken into account).
The bike seems good quality so far. The ride and seat are less comfortable than my mountain bike but, to be fair, the RMS1 goes a lot faster uphill. I suspect it will last well but obviously too early to tell.
One beef is with the fact you only get one key. Inevitably, the dog ran off with it shortly after arrival. It costs 56 quid to get a spare key, and despite saying 2 - 4 days on the website, it takes more like a week and a half.
The charger which allows you to take the batteries off the bike arrived after about 5 months, despite an 8 week lead time to the bike. It is too big to easily carry with you on the bike. The public charger works but costs an extra £145 but can't be used outdoors because it's not waterproof. Well, it can if you stay with it but, both issues combined, the range on the bike is a concern.
I signed up for the 'new rider' scheme, where you get 160 quid back. They did honour that but it took some chasing.
The speedometer is optimistic, to say the least. I suspect at least 10 mph of the speed increase between the RM1 and the RM1S is simply adjusting the dial. You won't be riding at 70mph as they originally advertised. That's not usually a problem for a commute but it caught me out on the module 1 motorcycle test, where you have to do a minimum speed before completing a couple of the manouvres.
The highest speed setting ('S') will get you to around 60mph consistently, maybe even 65 if the conditions are good, but it drains the battery a lot faster than the lower settings. These figures are difficult to gauge because it's hard to know how far off the speedometer is. I suspect 60mph is more like the top speed on the flat.
Use the higher setting a lot and the range might be as low as 20 - 25 miles. In standard mode you're looking more like 40 - 45 miles. Use the eco mode only (max speed about 29mph) and you might approach the claimed 80 mile range.
The servicing and delivery of the bike itself is well managed, easy, and the guys are really friendly.
Updated after a year: The rear indicator came off but easy to glue back on. Still going strong after a year with no issues. Does what it is intended to do.
The RM2 is due and I suspect I'd trade up if I could afford it. Wondering whether the topbox means the battery capacity has been expanded.
