MAG Instruments Reviews

As a handpan player and composer, finding an instrument that perfectly captures my musical vision is essential. My new MAG un B amara 17 handpan is a true masterpiece. The craftsmanship is impeccable, the tuning is incredibly precise, and the sustain creates a deeply immersive, cinematic atmosphere. It has already become the heart of my musical project, alongside their 21-note F#low Pygmy gem.
Thank you, MAG Instruments, for your dedication, your kind support, and for crafting instruments that truly inspire creativity. I am incredibly proud to be part of the MAG family! 🙏🎶

From the very first contact, my experience with MAG Instruments was excellent.

I ordered an F# Kurd Mutant 20 handpan, and throughout the entire process the MAG team was patient, kind, professional, and very helpful. They answered all my questions in detail, prepared the necessary customs documentation, sent me photos and a video of the exact instrument before shipping, and made the whole international purchase feel personal, transparent, and trustworthy.

The instrument arrived safely and in excellent condition. The tuning is precise, the sound is rich and balanced, the flow is magical, and the craftsmanship is truly beautiful.

This was a significant international purchase for me, and I am very happy that I chose MAG Instruments. I can sincerely recommend them to anyone looking for exceptional sound, outstanding craftsmanship, and a team that truly cares about both the instrument and the person receiving it.

I bought an F# Pygmy Mutant handpan online from MAGInstruments. I’d been in contact with them several times via email beforehand, and all my questions were answered promptly and in detail.
After placing the order, the handpan was delivered to me quickly and securely packaged. I only needed to be present to sign for it. The handpan is fantastic and meets all my expectations.
In addition to the F# Pygmy, I also own a D-Kurd 10 and a Tonguedrum from MAGInstruments, and I am very happy with both of them.

Purchased items:
- MAG handpan (D kurd 10)
- handpan case: Evatek hardcase (black)

During the ordering process, my contact with customer service (Anna Arató and Kolos Gunyhó) was always very friendly and courteous. I consistently received prompt and helpful responses to my inquiries. The entire email correspondence was warm and heartfelt, something I have previously experienced only once before with the customer service of another company (Feey AG Switzerland). I felt truly welcome, valued, and taken seriously as a customer.

I came across MAG Instruments after my handpan teacher from Thun provided me with a list of recommended handpan makers. Among them, MAG Instruments impressed me the most with their wide selection and their professional, informative website.

I have now been playing my handpan for a few weeks, and I can say that the craftsmanship is flawless and the sound purity fully convinces me. It is truly a joy to play this instrument. If I ever decide to purchase another handpan, I would definitely order from this company again.

The quality of the hardcase is also very good.

Absolutely outstanding. I have built my collection of 6 scales based on MAG, as they deliver the kind of sound you dream to play with. I have tried a few other makers but after several disappointments I decided to purchase only from MAG and they never failed to wow me.

My MAG handpan C# Pygmy is such a beautiful handpan with a warm and harmonious sound. It has gone straight into my heart when I played the first tone. A pleasure to play and it beings great joy. I am extremely satisfied with this wonderful instrument. Thanks to the MAG Team.

I like to express my joy and enthusiasm at how fabulous, subtle and rich in overtones the MAG handpans sound. The instruments respond very sensitively to every nuance of touch, the sustain is wonderful, and the tuning accuracy is superb. Overall the balance of all the tonal fields in relation to each other and in harmony is exceptional.

These guys went absolutely out of their way to ensure my handpan was perfect and even arranged a seamless exchange for my 2nd handpan. They took care to make sure I wasn't double charged on duties, was fully satisfied, and communicated constantly throughout the process. You don't see customer service this good very often anymore.

On top of the that, the pans are stellar! Incredible sound for such a reasonable price. Can't go wrong here.

I bought my first MAG handpan two and a half years ago, and since then I’ve had the pleasure of playing many MAG instruments. If you’re looking for a high-quality handpan at a fair price, you won’t find anything better than MAG.
The instruments are outstanding, and the people behind the company are just as remarkable. They work with incredible dedication and a genuine desire to build a friendly, supportive, and passionate community around their pans.

Every instrument goes through a careful quality check, and I can truly say that even if you buy “blind,” you will receive exactly what you’re looking for and if not, they will always find a solution together with you.
Only love for this company and their beautiful instruments!

Just got my MAG Handpan D Kurd 17 … and WOW. 🤯✨
I’ve played a lot of handpans over the years, but this one instantly feels special. The sound is insanely clean, warm, and full of emotion — every single note just *blooms*. The extended 17-note layout gives me so much creative freedom, and everything is perfectly tuned.

I’m honestly blown away by the craftsmanship. The resonance, the sustain, the balance… MAG absolutely nailed it. This instrument inspires me every time I sit down to play. 🎶💛

If you’re thinking about a high-end handpan, this one is a total masterpiece. Couldn’t be happier with my choice. 🙌✨

If you are nearby to Györ, Hungary, I strongly recommend to pick up your instrument by yourself.
I was very warmly welcomed, got a tour through the factory, thus I could see and actually feel which single steps my handpan went through in order to become such a beauty.
All the staff is very friendly and welcoming.
I feel now being a member of the MAG family 🙏😊

Company full of nice and competent people. The handpans are worldclass.

I've been to MAG's manufactory in Győr. Everyone was kind and hospitabel and I got to take a look "behind the scenes" of handpan making. After taking my time trying out some of their pans I also decided to take one home. The instrument itself leaves no wishes open. Its sound is truely magical.
