Shocking!!!!! Do not use this company! There is no way of contacting anyone apart from an annoying automated voice or an unanswered chat function on line. Ordered some scaffold it never arrived then read the reviews! They are all true!! This company is disgraceful!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Spent 40 minutes trying to speak to someone immediately after the order to cancel, then they wouldn’t give me a refund.
Received no booking confirmation.

Was over £200, very unhelpful-stay clear of these bandits.

Do NOT use this company! Terms and conditions state 21 days for a refund on your deposit but you will not get it back! Digger was returned on time and in full working order yet calls and emails are ignored and no sign of deposit. Seems I’m not the only one this has happened to

Order no# 246353 …Absolutely diabolical experience with this company, I would advise no one to use their services. I booked the hire of a cement mixer for a job I had planned the next day. I received a call from the company to ask if I could take delivery of the mixer the day before, which was not convenient, but I decided to go ahead. I paid for morning delivery but did not receive the mixer till 4 pm, which was very inconvenient as I had planned to go to WORK that afternoon. When the mixer was finally delivered, the breaker was not included, this breaker was not optional and was a £7 additional charge, but they just decided they didn’t have any in stock and wasn’t going to bring it. I was not happy about anyone using the mixer without the breaker so did not use it. The only way to contact this company seems to be online chat, whoever is at the end of the online chat is absolutely useless, I put in three complaints to them, and asked them to contact me, to get a breaker delivered to me, but they just did not respond or get back to me, when the off hire day came I waited in all day for this mixer to be collected, they never turned up! And in fact they didn’t turn up until two weeks later when they just randomly knocked at my door, luckily I was in!!! Honestly, do yourself a favour and do not use this company, I have asked for my money back several times and had no response, in fact I have had no contact from them whatsoever, luckily I paid on my credit card and ask the Credit Card to arrange a charge back, they did this and I’ve got my money back, but the company were not interested at all!!! please stay clear!!
Would love to discuss this with mammoth hire if they could be bothered to call me to discuss the multiple written complaints they have ignored Order no# 246353

The delivery of the turf cutter was ok albeit late to contract as I had paid for a priority delivery, prior to 1:30. The guy that delivered was very helpful and collection was on time. The issue I have had is trying to get a refund for the priority delivery that didn’t happen, tool did not arrive until 3:00 in the afternoon.
I have used Mammoth ‘Chat’ facility to complain numerous times, and also sent emails as requested which included a photo of the guy delivering the tool with a time stamp. Still no success tool delivered on the 22 May.

As most have stated this company is a waste of time, I did what they couldn't do in 9 days in 1 hour.

Hired and paid up front for some staging boards and a big blue 9 days before builders where due on site, gets to the morning of the hire and no delivery. I had to contact them, they tell me they havent sourced any yet (which they had 9 days to update me about) and can i move the hire days! Why bother offering an option to book specific days.

I gave them till 10am and in that time I used hirebase and speedy and got both the things I needed same day and for nearly £100 cheaper!

Moral of the story - Don't hire from a re-hire company! The lady didnt want to give me a refund initially either as she had till 5pm to fulfil the order - absolute joke!

Useless. No commmnication when our post driver didn’t arrive. 4 days later still couldn’t say when it would get to us. Avoid.

I would leave zero stars if allowed. Booked a delivery for Monday. Its now Friday & still can't get through to them on the phone. Completely wasted my week. AVOID!

I placed an order for hire of an A/C unit which showed in stock and available and still does now.
However, less than 24 hours after my order was placed they called to advise they infact do not have any despite the website still showing they do and them still taking orders!

Completly misleading!

What an absolute joke of a company this is! There is no 'zero star' option or I would have awarded that. Yes, like others, I should have consulted these reviews before venturing into a hire. Ordered an a/c unit for delivery on Monday and the web site showed availability. Guess what? It wasn't available and indeed none of them were. There is no contact number. They do not answer Webchat or WhatsApp despite my being online at 07:30. There was finally some email communication, no apology, no reference to my issues. Massively poor customer service. Certain terms for delivery appeared on the confirmation email ie after I'd paid. Absolute shambles. Never again.

I wish id checked here beforehand. Absolutely useless. Delivery cancelled on the day. Avoid if you expect good service. Plus im waiting days for my refund.

Would give 0 stars if had this option.
Should have read these reviews before using Mammoth Hire. Hired a flat bed trolley for flat move on the 11th June for 48 hrs hire from 16th June. Paid the full amount up front and received all the regular booking confirmation emails from Mammoth.
16th June delivery day (midday) - nothing heard yet - contacted them to be informed they don't have stock available. Could be delivered in 3 days but would need to pay more.
All too late for me and really put me in a huge bind as needed for moving and too late for another hire company.

Advice I can give - is AVOID THIS COMPANY.

Booked ladder hire after receiving confirmation that it was available, then on the day of delivery at 2.20 pm was informed there was no stock and the booking could not be fulfilled. Contractors had already been arranged in reliance on the confirmed booking, causing disruption and unnecessary costs.

Delivery checked on the day and confirmed it would arrive. No delivery and still no answers

The actual delivery through the local contractor was great. But BEWARE: Mammoth will keep your deposit. Six weeks later and multiple calls and chats they still haven’t returned it. Their support service is run off shore from Cape Town, so as pleasant as they are, they have no actual impact on the workings of the company. Small claims court is next stop….

Hire cement mixer 29/5 for 1 day …
Now 11/6 and still not collected.
3 emails and 2 phone calls later.
We are not a storage company while you wait for another hire of the equipment.

Will never use them again or recommend this company.
Mammoth Hire is the sister company to National Hire so be warned.

Booked and paid for a forced action mixer for a school project during half term. Less than 24 hours before the scheduled delivery date I was informed that the equipment could not be supplied and the earliest alternative date offered was a week later.

The project had already started and the existing wetpour surface had been removed, leaving me scrambling to source alternative equipment at very short notice.

To be fair, a full refund was offered, however the lack of notice caused significant disruption and stress that could have been avoided with better communication and stock management.

Unfortunately I would be reluctant to rely on this service again.

Equitment arrived late in the day and currently waiting 2 month later for my £250 deposit back.

If we could give it a zero we would.
Rip off, they simply take your money and try to fulfil the order using other local companies that hire out equipment e.g Travis Perkins etc
Generators needed for an event. Day late then didn't have the leads and then couldn't fulfil at all on the day after initial hire period - all they could say was "Sorry". Rubbish, do not waste your time.
