Delayed payment experience, no response to outreach
I have two outstanding balances and I am waiting for Maven to pay. One is for a referral and one is for a successfully completed consultation. My outreach to your team has gone unanswered and I show “no pending payments”.

Scam be aware!! I completed a survey for over half an hour until the very end ("thanks for your participation") just for Maven to tell me afterwards that I did not qualify or they already had enough answers (they just kept coming up with nonsense why they shouldn't compensate me). Avoid at all costs!!!!

Brilliant Plan for THEM
Here is what they do imho. They send you a survey , wou fill out sometimes quite a bit of data and then they tell you that you don't qualify BUT they have already captured your data. Brilliant in a way , the old carrot on the stick , but quite duplicitous. So if you want to give your data away for free (I mean with the carrot being a payment) and then be told you don't qualify repeatedly then this is the place for you I read your response and I do not believe you

Beware of survey requests
For the most part I've had good experiences with Maven. However, they tend to fall short on reimbursement for surveys. I've encountered several instances where a payment was offered to take a survey but after all the questions were answered, the survey completed, the Maven client decided I wasn't a fit. In essence they gained market research without paying for it. The Maven response was that I wasn't qualified so no payment.

When receiving consult requests it is easy to deny if you feel it is not appropriate and then easy to understand the steps in accepting a request. Overall the process of figuring out a time with the company to meet and the fact that I received payment right away was efficient. Overall Maven's structure is very transparent and I will definitely continue to do consults in the future.

The fact that the customer may have been satisfied quickly might reflect the high quality of the information provided - but not, alas, the payment! Just thought you might want to think about this a bit more.

Maven is horrible. Payment system isn't working
Your gift card payment structure for Venmo payout (where you take 4% from your experts) is horrible. It is not working. Maven says "they are fixing the problem". They've been saying that for weeks. You cannot speak to a real human. There is no contact information, only a stupid bot who is not helpful at all. I work on other platforms like GLG, Guidepoint, Third Bridge and others who are far superior and offer cash payout without applying a 4% fee.
Don't waste your time with Maven. It is a terrible platform.

They reverse credits after payout
I used to have good experiences working with Maven but of late they are letting themselves down vs their competition. Firstly it takes a while to get paid following survey completion, longer than other research companies. Then if that wasn't frustrating enough, after they pay you they can email you a few weeks later to say your answers werent up to scratch and they reverse the credits, which means the next survey you complete you won't get paid for, the money will be used to take your credits from negative back to zero. Why not QA responses to surveys prior to payment, you have sufficient time given how long it takes to receive payment. I haven't experienced any other research company payout then try and claw it back. Paying out you would assume means they are happy with your responses! You need to change this process, it puts people off working with you.
@Maven - your reply below speaks volumes, you've acknowledged you do this, it undermines the trust between you and your panel of experts, why would we work with you when there's a risk of you trying to claw payment back weeks after payment is made. I would like my credits refunded (I won't do anymore work for you until that's the case which means you won't get the negative credit balance set back to zero, there's an irony there) and you to put better processes in place that involve checks being made prior to payment, not afterwards. That way everyone is clear.

A mixed bag...
Positives:
- Transparent profile and dashboard system.
- Relatively generous with opportunities.
Negatives:
- Very, very slow payment system. A two week wait for answers to be accepted and then a further two weeks for payment. Why do I need to wait a month for what NewtonX does in seconds?
- Increasing number of invalid opportunities after a significant amount of work has already been put in. It's not uncommon to spend 10-20 minutes on a survey before being ejected for being in the wrong demographic group. I will say it again, these questions need to be asked first. I should not be spending time answering technical questions and then ejected because I live in the wrong state. Or I use the wrong software.
