Good projects. Poor payment system
The consultation was rewarding and directly related to my professional experience. These are the types of engagements that I wish would come to me more often.
The not so good news is that Maven's payment processing is much slower than any other platform that I have worked with in the past. They should have at most a 48-hour turnaround for gift cards including Visa or Mastercard. Instead, it takes ten business days. Longer if you want the money to be deposited into your checking account directly. Paypal has been doing this for years and their turnaround is within 24 hours. There is no excuse for this not to happen in a shorter timeframe.

The consultation was pretty ok, but the system for claiming the payment for the service was unclear. I was promised a feedback on my claim after a few days, but I have not heard anything yet.

OK platform, but can use improvement
It's a good platform for occasional consulting work - I get infrequent but interesting jobs in my field that I am happy to provide service for.
However, Maven are slow to respond to emails, or in many cases don't respond at all. That is frustrating. The payment system is also bit weird - they seem to try to avoid paying you out cash by the way they have constructed it - and when you do want the cash, it takes a while to arrive.

Terrible company. Do not work with them
Terrible company, not transparent. In one case, they actually took away money they had already paid due to vague claims that the responses had not met company standards - even though those responses had already passed reviews.
Edit: Here you see, in their response, more vague responses that are completely meaningless. They are not a trustworthy company and I'd advise any potential consultants and client companies to steer clear.

Poor Systems and Bad Matches
I have talked to Maven about problems multiple times with no resolution, and then I got this request for feedback. I received no reply from the last service email I sent with questions and follow-up. Web apps are glitching and slow. Not even close to my background for some of the requests I received. The payment link is hidden, and the payment costs(!) if the amount is small. I work with a number of other consulting companies, and Maven may not be worth the effort.

Seems like a scam
I'm an expert for GLG, Guidepoint and Third Bridge - all professional outfits. Maven claims to do the same thing but in a whole year I had zero consults and about 50 'invitations' for surveys that didn't work. Given that I get about 3 consults a week from my other networks, not a single one in a year from Maven makes it look like a scam. When I told them they were unprofessional and to delete my account, they did just that. No attempt to engage at all to see the problem. Not sure what model it operates, but it seems to be a scam.
