Having tradesmen in your house for 2 weeks is always daunting but I can honestly say that I couldn't have been more pleased with how easy the process was and how incredibly polite, considerate and discreet the team was. We are really happy with the end result too and the secondary glazing is both pretty much invisible and really effective. Really recommend Mitchell and Dickinson if you have a grade II house and you are not allowed to change the windows (which in this day and age is totally wrong). Thank you so much for keeping us warm!

Amazing craftsmanship and attention to detail at every stage of the process, our house is now cosy and warm after having draft proofing and secondary glazing completed on our 200 year old windows and doors. The secondary glazing is virtually invisible so none of the character of our unique windows has been lost. Although a big investment, I would highly recommend this system as the only and best solution for listed properties that are cold and draughty, and a lot less expensive than replacing all the windows like for like.

I had secondary glazing put on 2 sash windows in a terraced house which I rent out. Mitchell & Dickinson were highly professional at every point of contact, and though expensive, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the company if you want to keep your original windows. The work was done to a very high standard and the house is now much quieter and warmer, while still retaining its character. One word of caution in a small house, unfortunately the sanding had to be done inside which caused a lot of dust. However, Harry and Jonah, the craftsmen who carried out the work, did a fabulous job on difficult windows, tidied up every day to leave the house clean, and showed outstanding care and consideration to my tenants.

Brett spent a week and a half onsite carrying out various works in our Grade II listed old stone house in Somerset - these included secondary glazing, specialist draught-proofing and some restoration on a number of casement windows, French doors and part-glazed doors. The end result is terrific, very discreet and already making a huge difference to how warm the house feels, condensation issues, sound-proofing, etc. We were extremely impressed with Brett's professionalism, technical expertise and attention to detail.

We’ve just had Harry and his team with us for around 2.5 weeks. Very happy with the end result, much quieter and no condensation. Very importantly they were professional and good communicators, taking the chaos of a house with two toddlers in their stride. Would definitely recommend.

We used M&D to install secondary glazing on 7 of the windows in our Edwardian house. The team were here for 5 days and did an immaculate job - beautiful finish, very nice guys, cleared up after themselves and were very unobtrusive. The windows themselves are great. Very discreet - you wouldn’t know they had been added, which was critical for us as we wanted to maintain the period aesthetic. Still a bit too early to say what an impact it’s had on the heating, but we have noticed all the rooms that have been done no longer have condensation which is much better for the wood and paint work. Whole process from quote to finish took a long time. The bespoke nature of the work means the team are booked up months in advance but we were pleased to have been able to get the work done in September, before winter comes. This is not cheap, but looks great and we consider it a long term investment. Will definitely look at doing further windows next year. Would be great if they could offer some kind of payment plan as I think the cost (ours was around £7000) will stop a lot of people from doing this. Oh - in the course of the assessment of our house they also pointed out our lack of loft insulation! Forever grateful for the advice on sorting that as well as that will also reduced energy bills.

This is a great product - already making a difference to our previously drafty Victorian house and so discreet that the appearance of the original sash windows is hardly changed. Joe and his team were thoroughly professional, as well as always being on time, friendly and helpful. Definitely to be recommended to anyone who doesn’t want to replace their original period windows.

Mitchell and Dickinson are not cheap, but you have to pay for quality and we are delighted with our Sitting Room and Bathroom which are now so much warmer.

Mitchell & Dickinson restored 9 Georgian / Victorian windows that were in very bad condition and installed secondary glazing. Luke, Zack and Alistair did fantastic work, restoring the wooden frames and leaving each room clean, neat and tidy. All work was delivered on time (in fact, slightly ahead of schedule) and the team frequently went above and beyond to make sure it was the best job possible. N.B. This is not a cheap solution, but you definitely get value-for-money.

Mitchell&Dickinson has just completed the refurb of 5 large sash windows, 3 of which dated back to the house date of 1852! It is an HMO for 6 students and the craftsmen (for they were!) left it much cleaner than when they arrived. In a difficult situation, they focussed their work on one room while maintaining the security of the property and respect for belongings. The project was completed on time and within budget. We are planning for the second tranch of work for next years. Excellent result - thanks to Gary, Harry and Leo and the others!

Excellent products and craftsmanship - we are very pleased with the result. Some disappointment and frustration with the delays and rescheduling, but the outcome seems to have been worth the wait.

Absolute cowboys do not use, they damaged my home and cost me hundreds of pounds to repair. Their representative was rude and unhelpful.

We hired Mitchell & Dickinson to install some secondary glazing to our home, a late Georgian listed building in Hampshire. The work is not cheap - we were taken aback when the initial quote arrived and we then scaled back the number of windows we wanted to have done. But from the moment the team from M&D arrived in June 2023, they were magnificent. They are real craftsmen, and we were amazed at the work that went into refitting our French doors and windows and then draught proofing before the glazing panels were fitted. Thanks to the subtlety of the system and the matching of paints, the glazing is as unobtrusive as it is possible to be - it really is hard to see it is even there. It took a team of three - sometimes four - two full weeks to do the work which is a testament to their skill and professionalism, and also makes it easier to understand why the work is expensive.
