I am writing to warn others about the…

I am writing to warn others about the highly misleading and deceptive practices of Monster Reservation Group.

I purchased and gifted a trip to the Dominican Republic to my sister, intending for the two of us to travel together. During our initial booking call—which lasted over an hour—the representative took down all of my sister’s information and she successfully set up an account. We paid a total of $559.07 in upfront charges, which included:

Resort Fee: $317.03

Service Fees: $53.46 and $18.59

"White Glove" Fee: $169.99

When we called back to confirm the trip and provide our flight details, we were shockingly told that they had absolutely no record of our initial hour-long call, no record of my sister's information, and that the trip had somehow been booked under my husband’s name instead. They insisted the trip would have to be canceled and that I would lose all of my fees.

However, upon reviewing my records, I located a written email confirmation from Monster Reservation Group explicitly showing a confirmed reservation in my sister's name. Despite having sent this confirmation themselves, their customer service team claimed they could not locate it in their system and insisted we would have to rebook entirely at our own expense. This company's policies change with every phone call, seemingly made up on the spot to fit their narrative. They are highly misleading, disorganized, and continuously demand additional fees while refusing to honor their own written confirmations. Please be extremely wary of doing business with them.

Refund Issue

There was an issue that happened here at the hotel and the lady that I spoke with was very helpful and made changes that seemed almost impossible but she did it and I'm so thankful for her.

shady organization

What a shady organization! They called me and sold me a package which gave me 5 or 6 trips, all had to do was pay tax. I specifically asked about an upcoming trip to Hawaii. The salesman Derek said that won’t be a problem. I explained the only way I was going to sign up for their package is if I could book something in Hawaii. He asked me to trust him. I asked if I couldn’t book this trip and was unhappy if I would be able to cancel and get refunded. He assured me that I could. I agreed and was then transferred to Taquen for verification. Taquen sold me a $99 travel insurance package that would cover all trips. He too assured me I could cancel and get refunded. They processed the payment of $748 and sent me my confirmation. I called reservations and guess what, Hawaii was not available on my dates and the Hotels they had to offer were not a Marriott or Hyatt that Derek said they had. I asked the reservation agent, Ron to transfer me to the retention department so I could cancel. He asked me to hold and hung up on me. I immediately called back and waited on hold for an hour until I spoke to Sydney. She explained the package was non-refundable. I asked to be transferred to a supervisor. That was not possible but she put me on hold several times each time coming back stating she got approval to refund me $250, then $420. I asked to speak to whomever she was getting approval from, again not possible. I said I would take care of this with my CC company. Sydney said if I was to do that we would have to get on a three way call with my bank and listen to the recorded conversation. “If you have a recoding, you would cleaning hear both your representatives stating I could get a refund.” Miraculously Syndey was able to issue $649 but not the $99 for the travel insurance. I will dispute the charges with my CC. I would not encourage anyone to do business with Monster Reservation Group.

Frustrating experience

I booked a trip through Monster Reservations Group to attend a timeshare presentation at the Hyatt Place in Panama City Beach, with a $79 plus taxes and resort fees package. The confirmation said my trip was booked but that I needed to call a number to "activate" it.
When I called, I sat through a ten minute sales pitch where the rep tried to upsell me on future vacation packages, dropping the price from $900 to $700 to $500 before he finally accepted my no. Then he told me he actually couldn't book my original Panama City Beach reservation and that I'd need to call a completely different number.

I called that number and was told the Hyatt Place package wasn't actually available. The only option was a different hotel, not on the beach, for $450 instead of $79. I declined and asked about cancelling. The rep confirmed I had 15 days to cancel but said she couldn't process it herself, I'd need to call customer service.

I called customer service and waited on hold for 30 minutes before reaching a rep named Kareema, who was condescending and talked over me, telling me I didn't understand what I was buying because I hadn't read the fine print. After arguing with me for several minutes, she said she couldn't issue a refund either, only a manager could, and that she would submit a request for a manager to call me back within 24 to 48 hours.

I'm hoping for a callback to get my money back for a trip I never actually got to book, so that I won't have to go through my credit card company to dispute the charge. If you're considering one of these "$79 vacation" offers, know that the advertised deal may not be available, and getting a refund if things go wrong is its own ordeal.

Phoned to confirm my reservation and…

Phoned to confirm my reservation and told it was all in place only to find out there was no reservation. Spoke to them again paid $150 refundable and still no confirmation. Scam.

Great customer service is hard to find…

Great customer service is hard to find these days, but Ashley Saintigene delivered exactly that. She was kind, patient, and willing to help in any way she could. Even though things didn't work out exactly as I hoped, I truly appreciated her effort and positive attitude. Thank you for making the experience a pleasant one!

Highly disappointed in this company

Highly disappointed in this company. At first I was excited to try this company. In April 2026 I found a destination i wanted so I signed up. Then when I went to try and book the reservation a few days later, they said that location has not been available for awhile and they have not tooken down that destination spot. I said ok, Please cancel my membership. They said no problem. I thought the problem was solved.. NOPE! They charged me the next month in May 2026. I sent an email and they apologized and said they would refund my charge back to my bank. It NEVER was returned. I honestly let it go.... now it's June 2026 and im being charged again!! Now im being charged twice for something I canceled. STAY AWAY from this company... they never answer the phone either.

I purchased three day hotel…

I purchased three day hotel accommodations in Duluth, Minnesota. Right after I went to book it and there was no availability except in the winter months. My husband is a former Navy Veteran who just wanted to sit down by the lake and watch the boats come in. He is not in the best of health, so he is not sitting down there in below zero weather in the cold wind and snow. When I called them they argued with me and the only other option they gave me was to purchase another package for a fee, but they could not tell me if this place would be booked up, too. Way to go Monster, taking advantage of a vet.

Assistance with accommodations

I had to demand a cancellation for the original reservation as the accommodations were not what was advertised. However, the reservation agent, Kino Williams, did do her best to correct my reservation. I am now satisfied although I had to change dates for my trip.

Aisha Gudger was the absolute best

Aisha Gudger was the absolute best. She is the only one at Monster who has ever taken the time to explain to me how to use the vacation package that I purchased last year. She was patient with me and made sure I fully understood everything and answered all of my questions.

Do not use this company

Do not use this company. They had me on hold for over an hour and that was just one of the three numbers I had to call to book my reservation. When I finally spoke with someone they asked the most ridiculous questions then put me on another very long hold only to tell me there was no availability. It was a horrible experience. Do not use this company if you want peace and relaxation for your next vacation.
