I was unclear on a few details

I was unclear on a few details of my package and a wonderful woman, Kino Williams, called me. She was absolutely one of the best customer service reps I have ever spoken with. She was knowledgeable, patient and answered every question I had. She gave me advice on booking vacations and explained what is included in my package. I look forward to working with her again.

Monster owes me money!

Anyone dealing with Monster needs to know many of their workers don't know the rules for their travel plans. After planning a trip for my sister and I, they canceled my trip because my husband was not going. Even though he was not on the reservation and I was not told that if you're married your spouse had to go with you, even though there was not a time share. After they canceled my trip I was told I could not get my money back. They canceled the trip but they can not refund my money. Make that make sense. Everytime they call me I remind them that they're crooked. Please watch out for them, they are liars.

I called to change my dates

I called and because I needed to change my dates for Labor Day weekend/week and a representative Brandon Bynum stepped in and help me change my dates. He was very helpful,courteous, and patient with me as I was going back and forth with my indecisiveness with change of dates. Thank you again.

Bait and switch

I purchased a vacation package after being assured by two representatives, including a manager, that I could book for my family of five (two adults and three children) for the all-inclusive and that I would only need to attend one presentation. 15 minutes after purchase, I called to book an all-inclusive trip. I waited almost an hour on hold, only to be told the all-inclusive would only cover four people and that my children (14 years old) were considered adults thus not qualified since it when then be 4 adults and it covers 2 adults, 2 kids, and that I must attend a presentation at each vacation—or else lose my $150 deposit and pay a $500 penalty. This directly contradicts what was promised. I was told I could book a family of five for all-inclusive stays just as I could for domestic or cruises. I have a recording of the conversation for my attorney. Additionally, I was assured only one presentation was required, yet now I’m told I must attend one every trip. I seek full resolution; otherwise, I will pursue legal action.

WARNING Carpediem Roma, Monster, and RCI!

First off the one star was for the awesome front desk staff, the maintenance staff/lift drivers, the other lift drivers and the taxi driver (she was great). If it wasn’t for these guys being so GREAT, Monster, RCI, and Carpediem would have gone big time into RED negative stars. I’m mainly writing this HORRENDOUS review because I wanted to warn both AMERICAN Tourists, and Scottish’s Tourists (they were wonderful so this was bad for them too)! I was told in the beginning because of distance, there was a urber, taxis and lift to Rome (last big fat lie, it DOES NOT go to Rome but to a sub-station 30-40 minutes away from the Resort, stop Rebiddea!) also it’s not in a great location so catching a bus to get 2 km from the resort is out of the question. Also it ONLY makes two trips a day, 9am and 7pm unless you make special arrangements. This kills any special trip or events. Now the OMISSIONS by Monster and RCI, which is just as bad as lies! There’s a big RCI flag waving outside so they had to know and intern so did Monster. Also a 1 bedroom apartments ( which are supposed to accommodate 4 people boy that’s a joke! When I called to complained, the customer service was a jerk and said you knew what you were getting. WRONG you guys left a WHOLE LOT OUT! I wouldn’t have found this out if I hadn’t been there 2 weeks and saw other poor tourist being blind sided by this! SECOND CARPEDIEM nickel and dimes (Euros/American Dollars) you to death on all kinds of stuff. First they had no washer/dryer in the room, you have to go down to a predominately dark basement to the laundry room (only one of each) 5 euros to wash and 5 euros to dry, keep in mind American $ is a lot more. 10 Euros per day per person in the room for ELECTRICITY AND WATER, TOWELS. They do make the bed each day but other places don’t. Also they don’t change the sheets. I know this because the original had a few stains which didn’t change. DO NOT EAT AT THEIR RESTAURANT. Unknowingly we ate at the restaurant. Limited choices the first two courses. I couldn’t eat. The main course was Veal rubbery and way over SALTED, I had to spit it out, but the dessert was an awesome chocolate mousse. Their chef came out because he couldn’t understand why we didn’t love his creation. We switched to the pasta dish (it was ok). That MEAL cost us 91 euros (way over $100 US&), needless to say we didn’t eat there again. There was only handful of people there. Other Americans go nailed to. The resort says there are things to do close by. The Italian’s idea of close by American’s idea are way different. The lift was at least a flat 30 Euros ($ more). The lift ride was 10 euros per person per trip to the subway station (I now know what a can of sardines feels like LOL, but the Italians were kind enough to give up their seat to me when they saw that I had a cane and alot (not always but mostly) to my friend with gray hair. But I digress. They have a special coffee maker that some people had to bug them to get but it only uses special pods that they sell for a cost. Make sure you bring lots of EUROS, you will need them (GOOGLE you’re wrong). Especially in Rome ($ isn’t what you’re use to be). Most of the lift drivers you can bill to your room, and the Taxi drivers took credit card, Thank God. Those drivers also worked for the resort and were truly SWEETHARTS. Unfortunately one didn’t work for the resort but still (SWEATHART) and mostly took Euros. This cause us to run out causing a major problem we didn’t have enough cash or EUROS for the trip to the Airport. 90 EUROS for the trip, the Airport was a good distance away and gas was expensive. He was kind enough take what we had but this cleaned us out.i had to have wheelchair assistance (along with Kathy, this killed us not having money for tips, that’s how broke we were) So please come prepared. My friend Kathy spent a lot of time building a relationship with a lot of them especially the lift, taxi and maintenance with help of Google Translate and making good attempts at Italian. If we had been informed before that would have been different. Some of the other tourists came thru RCI. also since there were 4 of us wasn’t going to work, it cost me $736.41 (American dollars) to go from a one bedroom to three bedroom they don’t have a two bedroom also some rooms have a shower but some a very tall jacuzzi. That’s ok if you have very long legs and not handicapped like I was. They ask if I still wanted that room for another $736.42 which I promptly said no. The one bedroom had the tall jacuzzi which wasn’t going to work. My friend had to wash my hair in the sink. When we asked for a changed because they were heavily booked. Funny they were able to find one, that was a much nicer one bedroom then the previous one we ordered one by the end of the day.$572.62 for the all the stuff mentioned aboveboard to the room. They also billed us a tourist’s taxed. Wrecked our trip! 5/30-6/13

Still waiting for the refund this scam company as Kino said they will be sending last week. I have dealt with Monster Group in the past and have not had a problem until now. I am hoping that this will be resolved soon.

I have many pictures for proof.

We had to change rooms due to a dirty tub and a ripped screen going to the patio. 2nd room had very limited cold water, a sink that drained very slowly, door opening in the entry door, 3 out of the 5 days we had to have our key reprogrammed as one key didn't work each day. Also the stairs!!!! There was truly a lot of stairs to climb to get everywhere. Just getting to breakfast, lunch, and dinner my fitbit registered the walk as a 21 minute exercise. 👀
We were told we didn't have to go on a tour (originally when booking) but they called on the phone very early our first full day acting like they was taking us to breakfast (which they did). After breakfast we were escorted to a meeting spot told we would learn about the resort to help us get around during our stay. So we agreed literally it took 6 hours....yes, I timed it we were driven in a gulf cart around locations we could not enter with our bracelet. Then we were meeting with bosses to get us to purchase. The starting price was $300,000.00 to buy into a vacation club. After many no's we then had a different boss come in to try the final offer for us to buy into the vacation club was about 8,869.00.
We still said no, we were lied to multiple times from booking down to the meeting. Plus if you want someone to buy in, you don't put them in the worst spot on your vacation club...you should at least put them in a classier location. If indeed you are trying to get more people to buy in. So from our 6 hours we learned nothing about the side of the villa we had to stay on, but learned all about the locations we could not step foot on including the beach. The very dirty beach. Oh yes, during the 6 hours they load you up with alcohol, but literally refuse to allow you to eat. Hahaha haha we can drink so we enjoy the alcohol, but buy the end of the 6 hours I was definitely hangry.
So to the original person from Monster that called and we booked with that stated he would put his parents at this villa (vacation spot) shame on you!!!!!!....I think you started the lying. Original booking we were told they had about 35 restaurants so we would be able to chose where we wanted to eat. We were never told we wouldn't be able to eat at many of them (during booking) and daily we needed to go to guest services to pick from two restaurants to eat our first two days, after that you have only one option
We were never told the times we needed to be there either so one day we arrived very late with no restaurants to pick that day because it was after 11:00 am. We were told we could come back between 3 and 5pm to see if anyone cancelled. 👀.
Let me not forget the phone call for booking we were told this was an adult spot and you had to be over 35 (I think) anyway LIES we had to see and hear children of all ages.
After speaking with a number of people the they too stated they experienced and had the same complaints.
The day we were leaving a lady and her daughter stated they were on the same floor as us and the mother found a bug in the bed with her, and the daughter stated she saw a cockroach....yikes! She too complained about the stairs.
We asked housekeeping for an extra set of towels, and wash clothes. After 7 calls and three days we finally got another set.
Finally, after eating just salad our last day, my guy has been running to the bathroom often.
What was good?
Guest services did I believe there best in a BAD situation so we thank them for that.
Many of the workers driving the gulf carts from time to time took us as near as they could to our destination so we didn't have to walk aa much to eat.
To help, once our room was changed guest services gave us a bottle of champagne.
The couples massage, and a bottle of champagne. Getting the couples massage allowed us to retreat to the spa area everyday. Which meant we could use the spa facilities. This is were we found solitude...hot tub, sauna, gym, pool, smoothies, and peace and quiet. The people at the spa were super nice!
