I wanted to write a review to say what an exceptional buying experience I had at Motorpoint Edinburgh. I have driven company cars for the last 20 years and was nervous about buying a car for a new job which came with a car allowance. I shouldn’t have worried! The sales executive (Steven Kelly) was so helpful, informative and patient the whole process was easy. I found the perfect car and Steven took me through the process with professionalism and knowledge. He made what could’ve been a stressful experience an absolute joy! I have no hesitation in advising anyone looking for a new car to go to Motorpoint. I will certainly use this company again.

I went with my son to view cars at this Motor point in Edinburgh and we were pleasantly surprised by the stock they had.What my son and I really appreciated was the fact that we were left in peace to look at the cars and the salesman Sanjay came to speak with us after we had finished looking.Sanjay was very nice to deal with and his attitude could not be faulted.After telling Sanjay what car we were after he led us through the steps of purchasing the car and I drove away with my latest car a short time later.
I have to say that we were well looked after at Motorpoint Edinburgh and when the time comes that I want to change my car again then Motorpoint will be the first place that I go to.
The whole process was hassle free and I will have no problem in recommending Motorpoint to anyone I know who is looking for their next car.
I don't think Motorpoint sells cars any older than 3 or 4 years old and to be honest their stock that I looked at was very impressive and the young man Sanjay will go far in the car sales game.

Admin is our biggest bugbear when buying a car, but this was made very easy by Motorpoint's helpful staff and systems.

I rang the Edinburgh branch and was answered by Dougie who was extremely understanding to my predicament and offered a solution there and then. Upon arrival at the branch later that day, all staff were incredibly courteous and professional. I was introduced to Dougie who was with a customer and offered refreshments while I waited. A short time later I was seen to and everything went perfectly. A special shout out also goes to Connor who considerably went out of his way to help me, plus a young man from New Zealand who was great. In fact, everyone helped to some degree. Totally amazing customer service and a credit to Motorpoint. This is how all car dealerships should be. Many thanks again.

We traded in, got a car transferred, were helped every step of the way to buy a new “used” car. We had a few hiccups which were dealt with professionally and resolved quickly - and in the end we were completely satisfied with our choice and the manner it was all done. Took a couple of hours but there was a lot to do - post office etc on a busy afternoon portabello.
We go here whenever we need to get a car. That’s 3 in a row and it won’t be the last time.

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised and impressed by our visit to the Edinburgh branch Motorpoint. We were left to browse the forecourt in peace prior to test driving a car we saw online. Once we had decided to take the plunge, Lewis was very helpful without ever putting on the hard sell or pressure. Every step of the process was explained clearly and we were eventually able to drive home in a new car. The great service continued afterwards as it transpired we’d left a set of keys in our old car which we’d part exchanged. Again, Lewis went above and beyond beyond to retrieve the keys before they disappeared. Overall a big recommend

I had as much time as I wanted to look at the cars and test drive what I wanted. There was no hard sell or staff hovering around.

During the test drive, the vehicle failed to start and required a jump start. This was raised at the time and I was explicitly assured by the sales representative Conor Paton that the issue would be fully investigated and resolved prior to collection. I followed this up in writing and was told the battery tested well and that the car was “all good”.

Just over two weeks later, despite daily use, the battery failed completely and the car had to be recovered. Motorpoint’s own test confirmed the battery was fully defective (0% health/output) and it was replaced. This makes the pre-sale reassurance extremely difficult to believe and suggests the issue was either not properly checked or was misrepresented.

In addition, the warranty process was high-pressure and poorly handled. An error was made in the paperwork, and when queried we were told by Conor the sale would need to be restarted to correct it. Under pressure, we proceeded, only to later discover the warranty coverage did not match how it was presented.

Most disappointing of all has been the complete lack of aftercare. A formal written complaint raised on 19 January has still not even been acknowledged. Despite unresolved issues, we were asked to leave a 10/10 review before leaving the dealership, which says a lot about priorities.

I would strongly caution others to not confuse friendliness at the point of sale with genuine customer care.

Absolutely brilliant standard of service from Dougie Dickson and team at Motorpoint Edinburgh. I've always felt a bit daunted when trading in cars but I tried Motorpoint on the recommendation of friends and I'm so glad I did. Completely hassle-free experience from start to finish and the prices for my trade-in and new purchase were very competitive. My new VW T-Roc was presented in flawless condition. Excellent company and very highly recommended - give these people a try!

Our salesman Steven Kelly at Edinburgh Motorpoint provided us with a friendly and helpful service, he was honest, easy going, good natured, and very helpful. We did have some technical IT issues while completing our sale and Steven remained calm and composed throughout - I can’t fault the excellent service we received from him and would recommend him without reservation.
Generally if Motorpoint continue to offer competitive prices and good PX values and most importantly continue to offer a straightforward no flannel service they can’t go wrong.

We were treated with respect and patience, Steven is very efficient, polite and as it’s a while since we bought cars, took time to explain, the process.

Excellent service. Staff are attentive, knowledgeable and helpful. Prices are unbeatable, especially for nearly new cars!

Bought a Citroen C3 last week. Already had to go back to Motorpoint Edinburgh twice since the purchase as the car is making a rattling noise that stops when pressing the clutch. I have video recorded several time the issue but they keep telling me everything is fine. I have been told to take the car to Citroen to have an health check done and obviously will have to pay for it.I have emailed 5 different person, tried to call the branch all day and no reply or answer. I finally managed to speak with an adviser at Derby who actually told me that even being under the consumer right act 2015, i cant return the car or demand a full refund as they dont find any issue. This is totally unacceptable as the car is still under warranty. Not happy and wont recommend Motorpoint at all.
Update on 26.02.26 they finally decided on the 16.02.26 to check the car and went to the conclusion that the car was not fit to purpose. Agreed to be fully refunded but guess what, 48h later still no refund and blaming my bank, then a glitch on the system. I am not left with no car and no money to buy a new one. I will go as far as i can go for this company to be audited and shuted down.

Have been refunded finally part of the amount paid but still waiting on the £250 refund due to V5 and spare keys that i returned on 25.02.26. After several calls and emails and many excuses i still havent receive what is mine. This company is totally to avoid.
