Then time to relax in the beautiful tasting lounge for a guided tasting of a 'flight of 3 NB Gins and a final drink of choice, including a NB Rum. The unique venue is also available to hire exclusively for any special occasion, network event or meeting. Or, just pop by to visit the distillery, see the majestic copper stills and buy at great prices from the Cellar Door Shop. Ideal day trip from Edinburgh - only 30 minutes on the train and a short taxi ride to the distillery, located near Tantallon Castle. Love NB Distillery rum
Love NB Distillery rum. They've added to their collection too so it's nice to have more choice. My other half is a fan of the gin. The people who work here are very friendly and helpful, especially Jenny.

Not what it used to be to be
How disappointing NB gin is not what it use to be. To think all those years ago this was the gin that got me hooked on gin. It use to be very juniper taste and smell and a delightful taste now it is bland and average and lost it’s juniper taste and smell. Even the bottles and labelling has gone cheap. Not sure how they arrived in one piece the bottle protectors were around the base not fitted properly suspect they were 2nd hand as they were both ripped and stunk of 💩it was disgusting. Not sure what’s happened to this once amazing brand.

Our apologies that you feel disappointed with your recent purchase of our NB Gin and the packaging. At the same time, we are grateful for all customer feedback.
Our gin is the same gin since its inception 11 years ago with the addition of fresh lemon peel (as well as dried), in the same amounts, for extra vibrancy. We have spoken with many of our core customers who order on a very regular basis and who still love and enjoy our gin which remains juniper forward (10 grams higher in juniper).
We are working towards a rebrand across all our products and new packaging since we have taken over the company. The packaging is by a company called Flexi-Hex that is widely used by other companies. The bottom protector is a piece that is attached and taken off for sustainability. It is fully recyclable and compostable. Unfortunately, we have no control over the smell of the cardboard,
The bottles we have chosen are 66% upcycled glass, produced in the UK. Each bottle weighs 500 grams again for sustainability and lower carbon footprint. In our minds this is an elevation from the previous bottles you have ordered which were a stock standard and a heavier bottle at 760 grams, EU produced and previously labelled with a cheaper and basic printed paper label.
The labels you received on this order are a reprint of the former company's labels from around 2020, with a small adaption to the Samphire Gin label. As new owners we are soon to rebrand our full range of gin and rum labels to elevate the look and design. Watch this space!
