This shampoo does not clean hair. Can it be used with regular shampoo and conditioners. Directions are very vague.

I’ve been using Nova Hair dye for a while, primarily for my beard, and recently noticed that the product has been rebranded as Hela Hair. The website remains the same novahairofficial dot com, but there are some noticeable differences between the old and new versions, not just in name, but also in colour and formula.

The original Nova Hair version I used was in the Dark Brown shade. The dye itself was more translucent, both the white and colour parts of the formula were see through. It applied easily and had a mild tingling sensation after application, which I took as a sign that it was working. If I accidentally got some on my skin, it washed off easily with just water.

The newly rebranded Hela Hair, that I purchased, is in the Black Brown shade and is noticeably different. The white part of the dye is now a solid, opaque white, and the colour part is a dense, rich brown, not see through at all. At first, I thought it might not be as strong because there was no tingling sensation, but it actually turned out to be much more powerful. It covers the hair very well, and the colour is rich and long lasting.

One major difference to note, if you get the new formula on your skin, it’s very difficult to remove. I had to use nail polish remover and scrub for around half an hour to get it off. This was definitely my fault for not being more careful during application, but it’s something to be mindful of especially if you’re using it on your face like I am.

Overall, I’m happy with both versions, but the new Hela Hair (Black Brown) is definitely stronger and offers deeper coverage. Just make sure to apply it carefully to avoid staining.

I have been using this shampoo dye for a couple of months, and it surely does the work , I’m not having to dye my hair every two weeks, this shampoo last me a while Love it !!

I’m trying to go gray and Love how easy and fast this product is to color my hair without harsh chemicals. It is also convenient to store and use as needed.
I bought the light brown and turned out a bit too light so going with the darker brown next time.

I ordered a hair dye product from Nova Hair and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. Not only did the product not work as advertised, but I was also unknowingly charged again due to a standing order I hadn’t clearly agreed to. When I noticed the second charge, I cancelled the standing order immediately — but received no refund for the unwanted charge.

As for the product itself, it was a complete letdown. The first time I tried it, the mixture stayed completely clear even after shaking it thoroughly, and my hair looked exactly the same — no colour change whatsoever.

I decided to try again, this time shaking it even more — and the tube burst! Brown dye flew all over my bathroom from a gap in the tube, making a huge mess. I had to cover the gap with my thumb just to use it. I applied the dye to my hair (what I could salvage from the mess), but again — no colour change at all.

I’m not sure if I received a faulty product or if the dye is simply ineffective, but for the price I paid, I expected far better. Between the poor performance, unexpected charges, lack of refund, and messy, faulty packaging — I absolutely cannot recommend this product. Total waste of money.

I ordered the black hair colour, and I’m very happy with it! It worked amazingly on my grey hair—gave full coverage and looked natural. The best part? It worked within just 10 minutes. Very easy to use and no mess. Definitely recommend!

I really didn’t expect this to work. I thought no way I have so many different hair dyes and way too many grays. The product I used gloves and pumped some in my hand just moved it in a circle to mix what looked like the color on one half the activation on other. Just put in hair and after several pumps I felt I covered my grays then I just massage it in my hair line shampoo set timer for 15 minutes washed it out I was soo amazed covered everything I did the Black and boy was it black. I think next time I’m going to do the dark brown. I was just nervous it wasn’t going to work. But it Did. I say give it a try. I’m still o. My first bottle I did two touchups I thought for sure the dye would be old not work but it was good.

I tried the Nova Hair Shampoo, and I had already tested other color-depositing shampoos before, but this one had the best color hold. Even compared to regular hair dyes I’ve used in the past, none of them had as good of a lasting effect as Nova Hair. On top of that, they sent me a scalp massaging comb and an applicator brush for the product, which was great because it kept my hands clean. I was honestly really impressed with how well the color stayed, and I definitely recommend you try it too.

Provides a good natural look within the 10 minute time frame. For me personally, I experienced no allergic reactions to the dye where as lots of other dyes I have. Only con for me is that the dye (black) doesn't last as long as promoted, i find i'm having to re-dye every 1.5 to 2 weeks but I would definitely purchase again through the Nova hair official website.

Great product it dyed my white hair the from the first time I used it, and customer service is great. Don't doubt it get yours asap

I must say that being almost 78 years old and fortunate enough to still have hair this is without a doubt the best hair coloring I have ever tried. It couldn’t get any easier than Nova! Shake it up- squeeze it onto your hand-rub it throughout your hair and let it sit. The longer you leave it on the darker it gets and guess what- no Stain anywhere! No gloves needed. This was a piece of cake- even for an old man. Try it- you’ll be pleasantly surprised!
