A terrible experience from beginning to end. 4 weeks after my initial order of a knife block I was promised it the following week. It never appeared. Having then sent 2 further emails it was only after cancelling the order on PayPal did I receive further communication. I was given excuses that did not add up and led me to doubt the knife rack had ever been made, in spite of the fact I had been told it was on its way. I was offered discount and promised th E order would be prioritised. When I reordered the discount was insulting and I was asked if I wanted an alternative colour, as this would be quicker to make. I found the last part confusing as I had been previously told my intial order was enroute, leading me to doubt anything else I had been told. 7 weeks later I am back to square one. And would never buy anything from Japan again

We apologise for the situation once again. As we've explained you in the emails, we work with craftsmen and deliver handmade products and often, we have no control over human and other factors such broken saw at our carpenter's factory. The product you ordered goes through few complicated processes of shaping the steel cover, then undergoes a brass electrolytic passivation (to cover the steel in a real layer of brass), at the same time another craftsman shapes the wood and finally - attaches it to the cover. So many things may go wrong along the way - even at last stage! That's why sometimes things don't go as planned, and so I have informed you about that in our emails.
We have refunded you the money immediately as you requested. We really apologise we couldn't fulfil your order in the time convenient for you, but we can't (and don't want to) rush our craftsmen, as we respect the hard work they are doing.

Beautiful Kintsugi plates!
I got the kintsugi plates and love them! They are heavy, solid and well-made, with beautiful designs. I love the story behind them and place them underneath a smaller dish for dinner parties where I want to show off a centerpiece. Also a fan of the glossy finish. Definitely would recommend this product.

I bought an received a Tsukasa Hinoura…
I bought an received a Tsukasa Hinoura Santoku from Japana and it arrived well packed to Sweden after some waiting.
The knife is, of course, a very nice...a tad too heavy for my taste ( and compared to his son Mutsumis knives ) but of course a masterpiece handmade by one of the best smiths in Japan.
Japana have a handpicked selection of really good products.

Moritaka yanagiba knife
I was looking for yanagiba knife for some time and it wasn’t an easy task in Europe. Fortunately found Japanahome with very sensible pricing on Moritaka knives. While it’s not true yanagiba with its dual edge, it is an excellent knife! Very sharp right out of the box, some time with my stones brought the edge to extreme sharpness.
Light, balanced and extreme joy to work with. Very highly recommended.
Very happy with the fast service and shipping of Japanahome as well. Site is easy to navigate and nice to look at.

Wow. I mean .. seriously this knife is absolutely beautiful! What an amazing find and Japana Home has been so accommodating. I am a working chef and can’t wait to use this santoku in my kitchen.
