This is honestly a really solid one to read - appreciate you taking the time to write it out properly.

Love that it’s actually being used for proper homelab stuff too. That’s the kind of use case we care about most, so hearing things like stable latency, clean static IP setup, and no CGNAT headaches is exactly the goal.

New build address issues can be an absolute nightmare, especially when you end up stuck in the endless loop between ISPs and Openreach. Six weeks of chasing with no real progress sounds exhausting, so we’re genuinely happy we could step in and get things moving properly for you.

Getting fibre installed can sometimes turn into a full-day headache, so it’s great to hear everything just… worked. Nice clean install, ONT where you wanted it, your own router behaving itself instantly - exactly how broadband should be.

Appreciate you leaving this - and yeah, fair take.

Just to be fully transparent, what you were seeing there lines up with some wider issues on the CityFibre national network up in Scotland at the time. That’s outside of our direct control, but it still impacts the experience you get, which obviously isn’t ideal.

On our side, we keep things as solid as possible (routing, capacity, support etc.), but when the underlying network has a wobble in a specific region, it can show through - especially further north.

Totally get your point about going with a more localised provider depending on location, and we’d always rather people are on a service that performs how they expect.

That said, things have been improving on that front, and we’re keeping a close eye on it.

Really appreciate the kind words about support though - that part we do fully own, and we’ll keep pushing to make that even better.

You’ve pretty much nailed exactly what we’re trying to do. We built Olilo for people who actually care about their network - whether that’s homelabs, gaming, or just wanting proper control without all the usual ISP limitations.

No CGNAT, proper static IPs, bring-your-own kit, and just being able to talk to us like normal humans (email, tickets, Discord etc.) - it shouldn’t be rare, but somehow it is.

Also love that you’ve been with us since the early days :)

Really appreciate the recommendation, and glad it’s been a good fit for your setup. Always here if you wanna tweak, upgrade, or do something a bit cursed with your network!
