I only opened this account all online and didn’t have to go step foot in a bank, even the bank card came in the mail. I absolutely loved this because I sometimes get so antisocial and can’t really go out in public because of it! So thank you CIBC for allowing people to make a bank account online and not have to go into the bank at all.
On July 17, I visited the CIBC branch located at **2935 Lake Shore Blvd. W., Etobicoke, ON M8V 1J5** to transfer my account to a student account.
The employee who assisted me (an Indian woman) unexpectedly closed my savings account without my knowledge or consent. When I later asked her if she had closed my savings account, she denied it. However, after calling CIBC customer service, I was informed that my savings account had in fact been closed on **July 17**, the same day as my visit to the branch.
I have filed a formal complaint regarding this incident because I believe I was not treated honestly or professionally.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this branch. It was a terrible experience, and it caused me unnecessary stress. Incidents like this make customers question whether they can trust the bank with their accounts.
Really disappointing customer service. Every time I call, I end up waiting for more than an hour, and when someone finally answers, the representative is unnecessarily rude and confrontational. It’s incredibly stressful dealing with them.
Always friendly and inviting. Always does there best to work fast and effectively in a reasonable timely matter. Always have great offers to offer
there are way better options elsewhere! if you insist to start an investment relationship with CIBC IE! be prepared to lose more than your hair! they will test your patience and tolerance! think of it as tolerating a 5 years old child that requires attention and care. they can't even get the account opening process right. when they send you confirmations that the accts was opened successfully, DON"T trust it! it is not done yet! and they will absolutely screw up programming of commission fees or free trades. It is so messed up, use them as a backup only if anything at all!
CIBC Investors Edge allows US Equity purchase but you cannot sell themose stocks online you have to call. Today's wait time 97 minutes. Completely unacceptable. CIBC never told me whe purchasing USD stocks I would not be able to sell them easily. There is zero Edge with Investors edge. Honestly worst trading platform and very poor customer experience.
WARNING DO NOT USE CIBC INVESTORS EDGE... I HAVE BEEN WITH CIBC FOR OVER 7 YEARS AND THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THERE CLIENTS AT ALL I REGISTERED A TRADE AND THEY BOUGHT 250 SHARES OUT OF MY 12000 SHARES PURCHASE REQUEST WHICH COST 3.75 AND THEY CHARGED ME $6.95 AND WHEN I CALLED THEM TO REFUND ME THE CHARGE AS I AM DISABLED AND LIVE ON ODSP THEY REFUSED SO I HAVE SOLD ALL MY SHARES THROUGH CIBC AND MOVED TO SCOTIA ITRADE THEY HAVE AN "ALL OR PARTIAL" SELECTION SO THIS NEVER HAPPENS TO ME THERE
WORST BANK EVER. Have LOTS of money with them and they won't even waive the yearly fee for the credit card. So i downgraded to a basic credit card with no yearly fee, and they immediately change the billing date to the DAY OF the downgrade, and CHARGE PAYMENT INTEREST. Tried to transfer money to my mom and they LOCKED MY ACCOUNT because of suspected fraudulent activities. Ended up spending hours on the phone and hours in the branch because nobody seems to be able to help and all they could do is transfer me to another agent and another and another... One time they even hung up on me/disconnected the call. Sign up with CIBC only if you have all the time in the world to be dicked around by this so called bank
