False advertising
False advertising, site does not show you rates. Just sells your info so you spend hours fighting off the unwanted sales calls, and the house hunters that call immediately.

(1) Lender Direct — We analyze your profile and scenario using our network, then match you with one optimal lender we believe is the best fit—no multiple quotes or spam.
(2) Home Advisor experience — One of our Home Advisors contacts you for tailored guidance, pre-qualifies you if needed, and recommends a single lender that aligns with your needs.
In both cases, you're connected to only one lender. The "house hunters" and unwanted sales calls you're describing don't align with how we operate, so we'd really like to understand more about what you encountered (e.g., who called, when, and any details from the site interaction) to properly investigate and make this right.

Own Up was very professional and prompt. I received a phone call quickly from Crystal B, who was kind and explained to me the process. I love that I was connected to only 1 lender, and not bombarded with endless calls, emails and text messages from multiple lenders. I was connected to Mutual of Omaha Mortgage and went through the pre-qualification process promptly. It was so easy.

Misleading advertising
Misleading advertising. They say you give them some information and you’ll get rates for comparison. The reality is, they take your information and lenders begin to pester you about starting a mortgage. I thought I would get a listing of rates and I could choose who I would move forward with…not that they would start hassling me.

We did shop your scenario across our diverse network of lenders. Because you're still in the pre-contract phase (searching for a home), we surfaced just one lender we felt was the strongest fit—selected for their exceptional service and competitive rates/products aligned to your scenario.
If you've received outreach from multiple lenders, rest assured it is not affiliated with Own Up in any way. This is very likely from trigger leads—where credit bureaus sell your contact info to other lenders after a credit pull. If you've submitted recent applications elsewhere while shopping, that's typically the cause. It's an unfortunate industry practice, but we're glad the Homebuyers Privacy Protection Act (signed in 2025) will prohibit most abusive trigger leads starting March 2026.
Once you're under contract, that's the ideal time to aggressively shop multiple lenders and drive the best terms. We'd be happy to help—just email homeadvisors@ownup.com and one of our Home Advisors (mortgage shopping experts) will assist.

Great Experience
So far this has been a great experience. I completed the questionnaire online and just a short time later I received a call from an Own Up representative. He was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I'm just over 24 hours into the process and have been connected to a company that's working to get a preapproval letter generated and the Own Up rep continues to follow-up.
