Professional and Knowledgeable

I couldn’t be happier with the service I got from Jennifer. She was very professional and knowledgeable and completely resolved the problem I had plus got my computer running like it hasn’t in a long time. I am very satisfied.

Warning: This Company Is Not Authorized By Your Software Provider

I thought I was contacting HP for help with a printer. The person I got helped me identify a problem. But she presented herself as an HP agent, which turned out not to be true. She worked for Parakeet. Then she said I needed an upgrade of Avast to solve the problem, which turned out to be not true. She sold me a $500+ upgrade of my Avast, which when I later contacted Avast directly told me I did not need that at all. She also showed me a scan which she ran on my computer indicating my computer was infected with a piece of malware (MacKeeper) that could only be removed after I paid for and installed the Avast upgrade.

Turned out that was not true either because Avast tech support ran a scan of my computer showing there was no malware on it at all. When I contacted HP directly, they solved the problem by just turning my printer on and off and said the Parakeet offer of paid HP support was a scam because Parakeet was not authorized by HP to represent HP for technical support.

I demanded a refund. To their credit, Parakeet did in fact refund the money. But not until after they had access to my computer. They might be a good company for tech support. I do not know. But good companies should generate business based on their good service, not based on their ability to trick people into thinking they are dealing with HP or Avast in order to obtain clients. Good companies should not be deceptive about charging you money. For example, the charge to my credit card from Parakeet was $599, which Avast confirmed was double the cost of my simply upgrading my own Avast software directly with them without going through Parakeet. Parakeet kindly offered to provide technical support for the additional cost but Avast said they were not authorized to represent Avast and Avast already provided technical support for customers at no cost. And good companies should not be deceptive about claiming to find malware that has infected your computer when in fact Avast found my computer was not infected at all.

I have notified our state Wisconsin Attorney General's Office and the Office of Consumer Protection as well for possible prosecution for fraud and misrepresentation and abuse of business practice. If someone else posts a similar experience here on Trust Pilot about this company and reads this review, please feel free to refer this review to your state consumer protection office so a multi-state class action case can be filed against Parakeet World Solution.

Note that other reviewers have reported the same experience with being mis-lead by Parakeet into thinking they represented HP and Avast so this is not just one person's misunderstanding as claimed by Parakeet but rather the exact same deceptive business practice experienced by other reviewers who have reported it widely on many web sites.

They gain remote access, falsely claim your computer is infected, and charge hundreds for unnecessary "repairs." Never provide remote access or payment; use only official manufacturer websites for support.” Unquote.

The most common fake HP setup domains have been repeatedly reported by users as impersonating HP’s setup site and redirecting to third party “support” companies such as Parakeet World Solution include:

123-hp.com — The most frequently reported spoof.
123hp.com — Missing the dot between “123” and “hp”.
hp123.com — Reversed order, often used in scam ads.
123hp-printer.com, 123hp-setup.com, hp123setup.com — Variants adding “setup” or “printer” to appear official.
123hpdrivers.com, hp123support.com — Support themed variants.

These sites often look almost identical to the real HP setup page and prompt users to call a phone number or download remote access tools. The Microsoft CoPilot AI refers to it as, quote: “a hallmark of the Parakeet World Solution scam.” Unquote.

We strongly dispute the claims made in this review and would like to clarify the facts.

At the very beginning of the call, our representative clearly introduced the company name as Parakeet World Solution. At no point did our technician claim to be HP or state that they were representing HP. Our company provides independent technical support services, and this information is communicated to customers during the call introduction. If this information was not noted or remembered, it does not mean that any misrepresentation took place.

During the support session, our technician only provided professional recommendations based on the system information available at that time. The customer was not forced, pressured, or misled into purchasing any service or software. The decision to proceed was entirely the customer’s choice, and all actions taken during the session were performed with the customer’s consent.

It is also important to note that when the customer later requested a refund, the company processed the refund, demonstrating our commitment to resolving concerns in a fair and professional manner.

We take defamatory accusations very seriously. Publicly encouraging others to file complaints or organize legal action based on incorrect assumptions and incomplete information is irresponsible and misleading.

I thought I was dealing with HP

I thought I was dealing with HP. ‘Ricky” at first seemed helpful and said. all the right things about what could be wrong with my printer. He asked to share my screen, which was my first mistake. He then said my new computer wasn’t protected andI needed antivirus software before fixing the problem. He said he would download Avast and charged me $299. I watched what he was doing g and saw he was downloading a free version of Avast. I called right away and demanded they reverse the charge. He did argue, but the bank confirmed the charge was reversed. Since Zi don’t know what he did, I had to change all my passwords. Beware!

The paid protection plan is then activated using a licensed subscription key. This is a standard and legitimate installation process used worldwide.

The service charge you referenced was not for the free download itself, but for the licensed activation, configuration, optimization, and technical service provided during the session.

That said, we regret if this process was not clearly explained at the time. Clear communication is extremely important to us. Our technicians are trained to explain each step before proceeding, including what is being installed and what the charges cover.

Emily has been very professional and is very knowledgeable. After talking further with Emily, I feel mostly reassured. Avast is on my laptop (although Avast does not have an account in my name). Emily assures me that ParakeetWS is like geeksquad. The payment that I made on May 17 is for a bundle provided by Parakeet World Solutions. The bundle provides tech support and security.

It's been great speaking to Emily

It's been great speaking to Emily. I was on the verge of returning the computer back but Emily made it very easy for me to understand everything and now I will keep the computer.

It feels like I was tricked into buying a product different from what was described.

I was seeking help from HP to get my printer reconnected to my laptop. HP connected me with "live" help. Emily cleared Malwarebytes off of my computer (after telling me it was not sufficient nor the right kind of protection) and offered me the option to buy 1 of 3 antivirus programs, Norton, McAfee and Avast. I purchased Avast.
Since then, I have not received any kind of notification from Avast stating that I have purchased their program. However Parakeet World Solution has issued a "contract" that I have "signed" showing all of the benefits of what I purchased. But what I purchased seems to be a "Parakeet" product. I feel like I have been fooled into buying a product that is not as it was described to me.
