The on-site parking equipment failed; Remote attendant provided link to parking.com for payment. The parking.com payment system charged me a service fee on top of regular parking site charge. This is inappropriate as I did not cause the equipment failure. The consumer should not be charged more for local equipment failure.
Will never use this garage again!
The parking garage had a daily max of $22.00, my reservation was from 1:30-5:30pm but I was not able to leave until 6:00pm. Upon exiting I scanned my QR code, then the kiosk ask me to pay an additional $11.00 - which I didn't see as fair because that exceeded the daily max rate of the parking garage, but I just wanted to leave so I paid it. The gate still did not open, I had to seek assistance from the kiosk customer service. The representative was argumentative with me about the fact that I was leaving after my reservation time and that my $11.00 additional charge didn't process (even though I was holding the receipt in my hand). While trying to exit there were four cars lined up behind me and the customer service agent was insistent I pay the charge on the screen an additional $22 and file a claim after the fact.
Computer wasn’t working for any cars trying to get out. No one was sent out to help and the lady through the computer wasn’t being very helpful.

Tight, but manageable spaces. Good lighting. Plenty of parking. No issues getting in or out. Convenient to what we were going to visit.
Exiting the garage was a Nightmare - broken gate
I was able to reserve a parking spot without issue. I entered the lot without issue. However, on exit, apparently the machine was malfunctioning. Each driver had to speak to a live rep, provide identification information, before the rep manually raised the exit bar for each car. This experience was really frustrating, wasting a lot of time for all of us in the queue. Exiting should be easy; it should not require re-identification.

Clean and quiet garage
Clean and quiet garage. Easy to find and maneuver in. I did have a problem scanning my printed prepay ticket by whoever was manning the intercom was wonderful! They were very helpful. Will use again next time I go to DC.

The Daily Max Rate can be exceeded during one session
The Daily Max Rate for the garage can be exceeded during one session if you leave after the online reservation, even if you prepaid the Daily Max Rate. The Daily Max for this garage is $20. I left 45 minutes after the reservation expired and ended up paying $31. This warning is not on the reservation and other parking websites will adjust the reservation to the maximum allowed time if you reach the daily max when picking times.

Getting the reservation, entering the garage and finding a parking space went smoothly. However, trying to get out of the garage was a nightmare. The machine that should have opened the gate for me to get out didn’t read the CR code (that you need to scan again to get out) and I needed to push a button to be connected with an operator. Another car trying to exit had to wait 20-30 minutes while someone who kept thanking me for my patience, and telling me he understood, kept saying they could find no record of my payment. Even though I had scanned the CR code they sent me to get into the garage. Even though I gave him my reservation number. Even though I told him the exact time of arrival and departure on my reservation. He would take several minutes between each request, and then asked just another thing he needed, implying that after he confirmed what I told him, he would open the gate for me. Last 4 digits of my credit card. Etc, etc. after thanking me for my patience again and telling me he understood, he told me since he couldn’t find my payment in the system he would bring up a screen so I could use my credit card to get out. I started screaming at him that he did NOT understand and I would NOT pay another $20 to get out when I had already paid it. He then said he would make an exception to let me leave if I gave him my name and phone number. He would call me and if I answered he would let me out. The gate then raised, so I was able to leave. I will never use parking.com again. (The garage was at 400 Virginia Ave, SW., Washington, DC.)
5/8/23 UPDATE: I received a message today from parking.com saying they would look into this and get back to me. They have just refunded me my $20 parking fee. I am pleased they have done that, but I will be monitoring the website to see if other complaints about their poor system/management subside before I park there again.

Garage was closed. No refund.
I reserved a parking spot at a garage that was shown as open. When I got to the garage it was closed. Three other vehicles were there with the same issue. I called to verify whether the garage was supposed to be open and was told no. I asked for a refund and they hung up on me.

SUV friendly, even in compact spaces
When I arrived they only had compact spaces left, if I couldn’t fit my SUV in that then I had to leave my key with them. I ended up fitting my SUV in a compact space. Nice that it was manned and well lit with an elevator to ground level.

My niece showed us how to do it. We made a reservation in a lot near the mall in D.C. $22 w/tax for all day. No hassle with public transportation or looking for a spot. Pretty slick! Would use it again.😊
