PianoGroove Reviews

Awesome! Thanks!

I'm a long time amarature piano player and wanted some guidance in how to develop my blues and gospel playing, Pianogroove has exceeded my expectations and provides excellent examples in its video lesson format. I would not recommend Pianogroove for a total beginner, knowledge of chords and note reading will help you access the content much better.

After several free lessons by email, I found each lesson thoughtfully laid out leaving no questions to ask. Also no pressure to purchase any course. I believe it is priced just right. Good communication with Hayden Hill. A nice resource to go to at the start of the day with my coffee.

For about three years I have been a member of PianoGroove. You can compare the learning process to acquiring a language, with vocabulary, grammar, etc. The lessons are divided into Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced levels. You can also mix or skip lessons if you’re not in the mood for a particular piece. In addition to the lessons, there are seminars on specific topics that you can attend live or watch later. The community covers all aspects of jazz. Here you can also upload your own arrangements, which then become visible to the entire community.
I consider PianoGroove to offer a very broad and balanced learning structure that encourages you to play on your own, experiment, and immerse yourself deeply in jazz. It’s about a holistic approach to jazz—from listening to analyzing and playing.

I've been wanting to learn to play the piano for a long time. I've some musical background (and enough piano knowledge to read basic chords). But whenever I looked for courses, they were either for beginners or too advanced.

When I discovered PianoGrooves, I knew I had found the right place. It's perfect. The beginner lessons have been just what I need to learn. They pace the lessons and provide specific paths to move forward.

I am inspired every day to play, and Georgia on My Mind, is truly on my wife's mind as I've learned to play that!!

A well-designed website, comprehensive and clear lessons, and great availability and responsiveness. The kind of online course I had been looking for for a long time. Thank you!

Everything is great so far. I am learning a lot.

I was impressed with the friendly and prompt response from Haydn.

Se necesitan subtítulos mi inglés no es bueno

Jon Cleary is the most! And the visual layout with support materials is easy to follow

The lessons are good, but when new chords and sequences are introduced, they need to be shown and exemplified at a much slower tempo to begin with. Overall, I'm happy with the lessons so far.

It’s an excellent resource, so much fun. You digest the theory while also learning beautiful arrangements of standards. Especially good for solo piano.

For me, Piano Groove is the best online course for learning Jazz piano. However, it took me a while to get into it, as the material is very demanding and complex, and the explanations in the video are sometimes very quick. The arrangements are mega beautiful and it's great fun to learn with them.

I am a beginner in jazz. I am studying the Jazz Piano Foundations Course. I am learning things that I could not have learned from a textbook, and it has been very helpful. Above all, it is wonderful that it is so much fun. I am very grateful. Thank you very much.

Excellent well-thought out lessons. As someone who studied piano and music theory when I was a kid, it’s great to have a refresher and use it learning a music style I love.

Excellent instructive video. Great support ( pdf) materials . Personalized attention to questions , concerns, observations. Very happy with my purchase and experience

Excellent! This course is exactly what I was looking for! Very comprehensive and Hayden’s teaching style is spot on. A lot more than just triads and licks. If you want to take your playing to the next level and understand what you are playing then this is the course for you.

I came to your jazz piano course after completing a very different one - George Whitty's (Artistworks) which was very bop-orientated. I wish it had been the other way round - George was great at his stuff, but didn't cover the basics; now I'm finding it hard to start over again. Hard, but well worth it. Your course is so well structured and above all so clear. First class in fact.
