If your company is using this company as a401k administrator go ahead and runnnnn!!!! This is absolutely the worse 401k company I've ever dealt with

They were not communicative and made errors costing my company extra fees and hassle. I would not use them for 401k management.

Absolute worse experience. If you have this company for retirement planning, I highly recommend rolling your money over somewhere else. My former employer offered an early lump sum pension pay out per my contract, and Principal likes to give customers the run around when they decide to take this option. They are lying saying I don't have this option, then they claim they need to research and they'll get back to me. Of course they never do. I spoke with Sabina who has the title of supervisor. She doesn't respond and never seems to be available when I call. Read all of the countless similar experiences on the BBB. Customers really should file a class action lawsuit for unethical business practices. They definitely know what they're doing. Way too many complaints against them for them to feign ignorance. After a month, I am still trying to get my money. Absolutely inexcusable.

I spoke with a representative named Janika on 7/7/23 and she was so rude . Sound like she didn’t want to answer my questions or solve my concerns. Very unprofessional! Needs to be fired honestly because if you don’t want to be bothered with customers why be in customer service.

There was a time a person could call this company and you knew the matter would get resolved in short order. Those days are long gone. Instead of getting people that can actually help you, even if it is their mistake, the new team answering the phones can't do anything. They tell you how wonderful everything is knowing it is a lie as they simply can't do anything but talk on a phone as nice as possible to get you to eventually give up. Call back later and the exact same process starts all over again. Get this they can't fix a 1099R if THEY make a mistake. For those of you that know what a 1099R is you will find it impossible to believe but yes it is true. The only way to get a 1099R fixed even when they screw up is to get to their elite team. This can take several weeks to get to their elite team of course as you can imagine making a correction to a bad 1099R is equivalent to landing people on Mars. Speaking of which Musk has hired their elite team for an upcoming mission as it appears as if my simple request is now backlogged. My only hope is once the IRS puts me in jail they will send me legal help as long as they are not on the planned mission of course. They say your voice echoes in prison rather nicely. I'm interested in trying it out as I can remember watching Stir Crazy in my younger years thinking something like that could never happen but it appears as if it can. All over what used to be considered a simple task of filling out a 1099R.

They will do anything and everything not to pay out after you pay them to pay out. They even get as low as breaking the law on certain requests. The BBB has something like 90+ reviews and their average review is still only 1 star. If you're thinking on getting a policy through this company, don't. Just don't, it's worth paying a little more to have a company in your corner, this company is completely against you and all for themselves. Just look up the reviews and you'll see for yourself.

Worst customer service and policies. They transfered a balance into an IRA account without prior knowledge, I have not been able to access the account for over 18 months. Every time I have called I have been placed on hold for hours and when the call back selection was made never have received any of the calls back.

i don’t usually leave reviews, and if i do, it wouldn’t usually be bad. but the person driving the van - number plate FN69 BLJ is an awful driver. They cannot read road markings, decides to cut across and almost cause a crash with me, my friend, and his child in the car. teach them how to drive if they’ve got your name all over the van

Incompetent people work there! Calls are answered promptly (in the Philippines) but you are dropped frequently on transfers. Their app stinks! Unreliable for trades! Go to Fidelity instead
