We have reached out twice via email to ask for examples of where grammar or spelling errors were left in or introduced into the documents by the proofreaders or where the meanings of your sentences were changed. However, we have not heard back.

Our proofreaders always do their best to retain your document’s intended meaning. However, as the author, you are the subject matter expert, while our proofreaders are outside observers. We encourage proofreaders to leave comments and suggestions when they are unsure of your intended meaning or when they want to recommend changes they do not feel they have the full authority to implement themselves. Unfortunately, as outsiders, they may occasionally interpret a sentence or paragraph differently than you intended while writing it. You are welcome to adopt or ignore comments, suggestions, and edits as you see fit. We encourage you to disregard an edit that does not align with your intended meaning. Because we use the track changes feature of Microsoft Word, you can accept or reject individual edits.

We want to assure you of the high-quality editing the proofreader has applied to your document. The editor made 315 insertions, 333 deletions, 16 formatting changes, and 61 comments. This comes to a total of 725 revisions. This, in turn, comes out to 1 edit every 4 words. It appears as though your document has been substantially edited for grammar and overall flow/content. Your document has been dramatically improved from its original state, and the proofreader has done a thorough job fixing hundreds of errors.
