Serious Transparency Issues With Profitable Payouts – Unclear Internal Assessments

I am posting this review to raise serious concerns regarding payout transparency at OANDA Prop Trader, particularly in cases involving profitable trading.

I submitted a payout request on 3 December 2025 while my account was active and fully compliant with all publicly disclosed rules. OANDA had officially confirmed by email that payouts are processed within 5–10 business days.

Despite this, my payout was not processed within the stated timeframe.

More than 20 days later, on 23 December 2025, I was informed that my account had been closed and my payout rejected due to my trading methodology allegedly not aligning with an “internal risk assessment.”

No specific rule violation was identified. No public rule, clause, or documented policy was cited to justify the refusal. OANDA stated that this internal assessment is confidential, final, cannot be appealed, and that no further explanation can be provided.

What is particularly concerning is the pattern of communication:
• The decision was made only after the payout request had already been submitted.
• The assessment criteria and evaluation process were not disclosed.
• Support responses were largely automated and did not address the core issue raised.
• My support tickets were eventually closed without resolution.

This raises serious concerns about transparency in payout handling, especially for profitable accounts. From my experience, it appears that profitable trading activity may be retrospectively reviewed using undisclosed internal criteria to justify payout refusal, without providing traders with a fair opportunity to understand or challenge the decision.

After multiple attempts to resolve this directly, I have formally submitted complaints to the Office of the Arbiter for Financial Services (Malta) and relevant regulatory bodies.

Traders should carefully consider these risks before engaging.

I followed the 5% risk management rule…

I followed the 5% risk management rule at all times and did not exceed any published trading limits. Despite this, my account was closed without a clear or specific explanation of the violation.

The company does a pretty good job in…

The company does a pretty good job in terms of customer service. The automated dashboard is very professional. However, I would like the company to specify the highest daily profit figure in the dashboard, as it only shows the results of completed trades. This makes calculating the 40% profit consistency difficult for traders. Otherwise, you've done very well. Wishing the company continued growth and a wonderful day!

Very poor experience

Very poor experience – payment issue & no proper support

I purchased an OANDA Prop Trader USD 5,000 challenge and paid via Touch ’n Go eWallet, which is offered as a payment option on their website.

The payment was successfully deducted from my wallet and shows “Successful”, but OANDA later claimed that the payment was unsuccessful on their system and advised me to contact my payment provider instead.

Despite providing:
Full payment receipt
Transaction reference
Merchant name (OANDA Labs Assessment Ltd)

My support ticket was initially closed without resolution, and the response was slow and unhelpful.
I am now forced to go through a manual dispute process with my eWallet provider just to trace a payment that should have been properly reconciled by OANDA.

This experience shows:
Poor payment handling
Weak customer support
No clear ownership of issues when problems arise

For a well-known brand, this level of service is disappointing. I would not recommend OANDA Prop Trader unless their payment processing and support improve significantly.

Oanda experience

From the very beginning, OANDA Prop Trader has been a terrible experience. I successfully passed both evaluation phases, expecting a smooth transition to the live account. Instead, they delayed the activation of my live account for over 3 weeks, which is completely unacceptable and should never happen with any serious prop firm.

After the live account was finally activated, I was shocked by how massive and unreasonable the fees were. On top of that, I requested a withdrawal at the end of October, and to this day it is still not approved. This is an outrageous delay and raises serious concerns about their reliability.

What makes the situation even worse is that OANDA sells accounts to traders in Kosovo, yet the withdrawal apps they use do not even support Kosovo. This feels extremely misleading. They are happy to take your money, but they make it nearly impossible for you to receive your profits. There is no direct withdrawal option to Binance or a bank account, which only adds to the frustration.

Overall, this feels like a setup designed to collect fees rather than support traders. Poor communication, long delays, incompatible withdrawal systems, and lack of practical payout options make this prop firm one I strongly do not recommend. Save your time, money, and energy—look elsewhere.

I had a live account with 100,000 VND. After one profit withdrawal, they classified me as needing to consistently achieve a profit of less than 40% per day. I complied with that rule and executed trades with a risk of less than 1% and a profit of less than 2%. However, when I was only one trade away from withdrawing my profit as per the rule, they suddenly terminated my account, even though I only had one trade with a profit of less than 2% that day. This shows a lack of transparency and a deliberate policy of eliminating profitable traders participating in their challenge. I urge all newcomers not to join this fund; the payout waiting time is very long (more than a week), and they are truly unethical.

OANDA Account Closed Without Explanation – Traders Should Be Careful

I am writing this review to share my personal experience with OANDA, which I believe raises serious concerns about transparency and customer treatment.

I had an active trading account with OANDA and followed all stated rules and requirements to the best of my knowledge. However, my account was suddenly closed by OANDA without any clear or detailed explanation. I did not receive a specific reason, evidence, or reference to any concrete violation of their terms.

What is most frustrating is the lack of transparency. Customer support responses were vague and repetitive, typically stating that the decision was “final” and based on internal policies, without providing any meaningful clarification. As a customer, this leaves me with no way to understand what went wrong, defend myself, or avoid similar issues in the future.

In my opinion, closing a client’s account without a clear, verifiable reason undermines trust, especially in the financial and trading industry where transparency is critical. Traders rely on brokers not only for execution, but also for fair treatment and clear communication.

While OANDA is a well-known broker, my experience suggests that account holders should be cautious. At any moment, an account may be terminated without proper explanation, and there appears to be little recourse for the client.

I am sharing this experience so other traders can be aware of the potential risks and make informed decisions before choosing OANDA as their broker.

Honest review

Honestly still not able to give a rating. I have passed my two step challenge. And an email have been received for the funded account. But until now, still unable to perform any orders on MT5 for my funded account because the funded account is still in “verification process”. Its now more than a week waiting. Have send a numerous email for assistance,but still no satisfied answers from oanda prop firm. Just feel we deserved better customer services due to the fact that we pay for the challenge. Not saying it a scam for now,still waiting any asisstance or any response or waiting for my account to be verified.

Unexpected Stop‑Loss Slippage and Hard Breach — Very Disappointing

I recently experienced a serious issue on my OANDA prop account. I had a clear stop loss set at 4505.233 on my XAUUSD buy position (0.75 lot). Based on the entry price, my maximum expected loss should have been around $402–405.
However, the trade was closed at 4503.510, resulting in a loss of $531.75 — more than $129 extra due to slippage. This unexpected execution caused an immediate hard breach on my account.
I understand that markets move fast, but this level of slippage on gold during normal conditions is unacceptable for a prop firm that claims professional execution. If stop losses cannot be trusted, risk management becomes impossible.
I hope the team reviews this case seriously and improves transparency around execution quality and slippage handling.

Unfair Account Ban & Ghosted on Refund – No Evidence Provided!

I am writing this to warn fellow traders about my recent experience with OANDA Prop Trader. My account was suddenly banned under the claim of violating 'Annex B: Forbidden Trading Practices.' However, despite my repeated requests, OANDA has failed to provide any concrete evidence or specific trade logs to prove that I broke any rules.
What is even more frustrating is their lack of accountability regarding refunds. After banning my account, they officially emailed me promising a full refund of my challenge fees within one week. It has now been over a month, and I have received absolutely nothing.
This feels like a deliberate attempt to withhold funds from successful traders. If a firm can ban you without proof and then ignore their own written refund commitment, it is a massive red flag.
I strongly advise everyone to be extremely cautious. OANDA, I am still waiting for the refund you promised and a transparent explanation for the account closure.
Worst of all, despite their email stating they would refund the challenge fee, I have yet to receive anything. This is an unprofessional and deceptive practice. They lure traders in, and when you start performing, they shut you down with vague excuses to avoid payouts. Stay away from this firm if you value your time and capital!

Why didn't you review and warn/reject the challenge immediately after passing round 1 and round 2 to save time for both of us? There are people who buy dozens of challenges but never pass round 2, and when they finally pass, they receive such a result. There's nothing more to say than they've been deceived.

Took way too long to confirm my payout

Took way too long to confirm my payout, first it said 3-4 working days, then they sent me an email that said it would take 3-10 business days and after it was confirmed I have to wait an exrta 10 working days to transfer the withdrawal. Unacceptable.

Applied first payout on 11-Dec-25, still pending

Applied first payout on 11-Dec-25, still not approved.
There is no way to chat to human.
Send numerous emails, received 2 responses from support department that payout is being reviewed. No reason provided for unjustified delayed payout approval.
Please improve. Cannot be reason that Oanda has no money to pay. Hire staff to review payouts please…

Hello, I'm VietDung. I've received my first payment from Oandaproptrader. The payment process was a bit slow, however, their trading platform experiences very little slippage, even during the CME system outage last November. Once again, I recommend you try Oandaproptrader to experience their service.
