Really Right Stuff used to be a reliable company for photography gear but this has changed over the years. The shipping provider they use is UPS (not always reliable in all countries) but the customer pays the shipping in advance and RRS pays UPS which means the person who pays is technically not recognized as the client and cannot file a lost item claim. RRS will not file a claim on the customer's behalf, because they do not take responsibility for shipments once they leave their facility. Over a small piece of metal that failed to get delivered, RRS felt so strongly that they were not going to be out of pocket any cost, they were not willing to open a claim with UPS over my mission g package, no replacement and no refund. 10 years of supporting their brand and buying their products meant nothing to them.

Received a marketing email despite never having opted in. I asked them why, and got the quite reply "It looks like you got an email from us notifying you that you are not on our mailing list, and asking if you wanted to be." Seems they don't think that counts as a marketing email, for some strange reason. And not sure why they have my email address either.
