I was in a situation where I was buying a vehicle remotely, no opportunity to see it in person. Inspection was thorough, and far more in-depth that I would have looked at in person. Inspector called after the inspection was done. Very polite and professional. Report had about 100 photos along with mechanical and aesthetic evaluations.

I used RedBook for a vehicle inspection and found the service lacking in key areas that matter when making a significant purchase.
While the report was delivered on time, it failed to properly interpret or highlight important findings. Paint thickness readings were included, however no explanation or context was provided around what those numbers meant or whether any were outside normal or acceptable ranges. For a paid inspection service, simply listing data without interpretation is not sufficient.
During the follow-up call, these points were also not raised by the inspector, which is concerning given they can indicate prior paintwork or underlying issues. This left me to identify and understand potential concerns on my own after the fact.
The purpose of an inspection is not just to collect data, but to clearly identify risks and provide meaningful guidance to the buyer. In this case, that did not happen.
Based on my experience, the service falls short of expectations and would benefit significantly from clearer communication, better analysis of findings, and a stronger focus on highlighting anything outside normal conditions.

Organizing the inspection was easy and the inspection was carried out in a timely manner.
The report is quite extensive and well supported by photos.
I had expected a bit more depth to the inspection of the mechanical operation of the vehicle but highly valued the insights of everything external.
For instance, oil residue was noted on motor, but no information as to where the oil leak may have come from.
I finished up having to get the vehicle to my mechanic for a comprehensive report on the mechanical operation of the car.

It was the best mainly spent knowing that I had you guys in my corner.

It was a reasonably good experience however it took a couple of days to get the report done which I was worried about losing the car. The car had a stutter as I accelerated but this was not mentioned nor from my mechanic so it may be nothing.

Redbook inspect is easy to use and a great service. Made my purchasing choice quite easy, and the report was very accurate, I knew what I was purchasing and the quality of the vehicle too. Once finished I received a phone call and was given honest genuine feedback. I cannot recommend the service any higher, particularly because the car was out of state.

Easy to book. Report was comprehensive but a good summary provided. Received a call from the inspector which was very useful because I could talk through the findings and ask further questions. My only complaint is that it took 5 days to for the inspection to be carried out despite the website quoting 1 to 3 business days.
