I booked a vehicle inspection online. In my comments I requested for it to be done before Fri. It was scheduled and completed as I requested. Received a call from the inspector to let me know the outcomes and a written report was emailed to me soon after. Very satisfied with the service.

The report was very comprehensive. The follow up phone call was a great way to hear directly from the inspector.

I would highly recommend the comprehensive inspection by RedBook. We're buying a vehicle interstate, so it's a stressful process. It's our son’s first car, one he has worked hard to buy. Given his situation and age, he needs an affordable reliable car for the next 10 years.

We trusted Redbook's inspection and proceeded with purchasing the car. Unbelievably, just two days later, a standard service at mycar revealed a $1,300 defect: both the transmission and lower engine mounts were faulty and required immediate replacement. Very disappointed with Redbook’s negligence.

If the inspector had been a skilled professional, he should have noticed the issues during the test drive due to the vibration and movements during acceleration and braking—or at least given us a heads-up.

Only booked them because the dealer said he would not allow an RAC (WA) inspection. Redbook Inspect report identified two minor issues that the dealer addressed. Got an RAC inspection less than a week after purchase that identified two issues that will cost around $1000 total. Dealer told me one of those issues was 'old' and not happening now (how? self-healing?), and advised the Road Safety Act doesn't state that the other issue is not allowed, and the car is fine. So I have to now go back to the RAC and then to Consumer Protection re my rights under the Motor Vehicle Dealers Act or Australian Consumer Law. Stressful, unpleasant, and, in my firm view, could have been avoided with an RAC inspection.

The inspector assigned by Redbook was very thorough. He was punctual (actually arrived early) and gave his unbiased professional opinion regarding the vehicle’s condition. The dealership also remarked on his professional yet cordial manner. I found the booking system easy to use and the report produced gave me the confidence to move forward with the purchase. I would not hesitate to recommend Redbook for pre-purchase inspections and would certainly use their services again. It’s worth the monetary outlay for peace of mind.

The report was completed in a timely manner and was easy to read. Graham the assessor was also polite and professional and answered any additional questions I had regarding the inspection.

Great feedback and peace of mind

This was my first time buying a vehicle interstate, I don’t have the time or money to travel to inspect it myself. I got their most expensive package as I didn’t want to muck around getting a car I can’t see in person and it was worth every penny, photos and videos of everything, found a missing bash plate under the engine bay and that rear rego lights weren’t working, contacted the dealer and they’re fixing that all up free of charge. Without this service I wouldn’t have spotted those things.
