My daughter just moved and took a large suitcase of clothes to her local Red Cross charity shop. They embarrassed her by asking all kinds of personal and intrusive questions in front of customers. Nev... Toon meer

My trainer Sam Smith was excellent
My trainer Sam Smith was excellent, he was so informative and made the training not feel very long at all. Keeping me entertained while learning really valuable skills. His attitude and energy made me feel really confident in case of an emergency, the same time learning so much.
Donna Cabral… 5* Ratings
I recently attended (19th July) a First Aid course at the Jury’s - Watford with the best trainer called Donna Cabral.
I’ve attended this course before and was apprehensive when I knew I had to do it again. I must say Donna makes you feel very comfortable, her training technique is second to none & I cannot recommend her enough. I feel workers like deserve to get recognised & rewarded as they don’t come by easy! Thank you again!

Hi all,
I have recently finished my First Aid Course and was so lucky to have one of the best instructor (Fred)
I would really recommend him !!! The course was very enjoyable and he engaged so well with everyone in the room, making sure everyone's learning needs were met, everyone felt comfortable, adding personal stories to make us understand better.
Gives you in belief and much motivation to intervene in any situation.
I feel 100% more confident as a first helper and could recommend him for all of you. Thank you Fred !!!

Disappointed in spending
I'm really disappointed with how the BRC use donations, mine included. An unhappy ex volunteer showed me online info.
The CEO is paid higher than average, donations for BRC community work gets moved to immigration and oversees projects 'as required'. This includes fundraising adverts for oversees. If I wanted to donate overseas I would have donated to the International Red Cross again.
They use the word "emergancy" for community food drop offs in Covid as though noone else did this. They don't have First Aiders or youth groups now - yet profess to teach the skills. Albeit my last course was excellent, they had no real life experience. BRC appears more like IRC doing adverts and minor projects in UK using costly training to fund a very expensive CEO and TV adverts for oversees projects.

Simply one of the best first aid courses!
I just attended a 3 day first aid at work course by Mo (Moushumi) at their Moorgate base, and really it was such an excellent course. I must say Mo the instructor was brilliant . She made the course very enjoyable and she engaged so well with the everyone in the room, making sure everyone's learning needs were met, everyone felt comfortable, adding personal stories to make us understand better, adding humour and at the same time ensuring we all understood the key principles. You can tell she genuinely cares about our learning and loves her job, she should she is excellent at it. I believe the way she involved everyone in the practical and theory elements of the course and the way she set up various first aid scenarios really helped everyone, not only grasp the knowledge but feel completely at ease. I feel 100% more confident as a first aider and couldn't recommend her enough. Thank you Mo!
volunteering for BRC
I was volunteering for BRC lending out mobility equipment, the work was easy BUT they expect you to do a remorseless about of online training which is all about the history and symbols and bears no relevance to the work you do. It amounts to indoctrination. I would not recommend it. I also volunteer for Sue Ryder with zero online training.

Generally I like the idea of the…
Generally I like the idea of the British Red Cross and it's helping in overseas aid in disasters and emergencies. I like the stores selling donated items. I like the staff. I don't however at all like the political stances taken on BLM and other issues with training courses run in awareness of such political agenda issues, being supported by a charity organisation run on people's personal charity donations. Nor do I like some practises of the Red Cross shops. Like in event of needing a refund if anything bought turns out to be faulty goods, like a dvd I recently bought in good faith as being playable, for three pounds, that I afterwards found out could not be played in UK region 2 players. It was region 1 only although it was not obviously stated on the outer of the goods. You know when you try to play it and it comes up with wrong region on your dvd player. What's definitely wrong is their telling me they need my written down name and postcode to prove identity for refund to be done. No. Statutory rights. In any shop sale in UK you are legally protected in case of any faulty goods by a no question refund. With your shop receipt alone as proof of purchase. I do not and should not be asked to provide proof of who I am and where I live. That's also against modern data protection laws I believe. To be asking for as requirement to refund any such information being collected.
Following recent stroke
Following recent stroke. Red Cross supposed to deliver aid to help me sit up / get out of bed
3 weeks still waiting he “ forgot” last time no sign of it since
Waited 2 weeks for bath seat due today- waited in all day not arrived
So I’ll sleep in a chair and continue 3 weeks no hair wash
Remove government funding (millions ro run this service) to stop disabled people being abandoned
Utter farce
Disabling disabled people
Terrible general management
I believe British Red Cross is under a terrible management. I've been to many shops here in the North and online. They get everything for free, they try to resell most things at a absurd price.
They filter everything that is good on the back and I believe we never get to see what was donated with value. Not even wondering where it's going to end.
Met one staff that had more than 20 925 silver bracelets on one wrist and more than 20 gold bracelets on the other. She was also loaded with silver and gold necklaces. When I ask her where did she got it, she got nervous. When I asked her to see anything 925 silver she was showing very small pendants asking more than £20 for something so small.
I go to furniture shops and they have super old furniture for more than £100 everything we couldn't buy anything.
They get donated everything with good Hearth and they try to extort people. You would help the community and yourself with some sales with more affordable prices and I mean in general. How can you sell random plates and old pieces for £30 or more. You're detached from reality.
