RED Driving School

I’m based in South London and I wanted to share how great my driving instructor Rebecca Begum was. I’d had 3 driving instructors previously, and I just thought I didn’t like driving - I was always extremely anxious before lessons and struggled with parking a lot! That all changed when I met Rebecca; she never made me feel stupid, was patient and encouraging and I immediately felt at ease with her. She really understood how my brain worked and I’ve just passed my test! Honestly, I wish I’d had her from the start as I know I could have passed sooner. Not all instructors are great teachers as well as drivers, but Rebecca is both and I would highly recommend! I also really appreciated her flexibility with the timings for lessons - so important as I could fit lessons around my availability.

I came to Geoff with just 5 weeks before my test and he got me fully prepared and confident enough to pass first time! He was always patient, supportive and great at explaining things. Couldn’t recommend him enough! I came to Geoff with just 5 weeks before my test and he got me fully prepared and confident enough to pass first time! My driving instructor Nicola was brilliant—always calm, informative, and patient. I was quite nervous at the start, but she never got frustrated and made me feel completely at ease. She broke down instructions so they weren't complicated which made it easy to pass with confidence.

I highly recommend Faraz Zia! I started lessons with him as a complete beginner, and he was always patient, considerate with scheduling, and easy to communicate with on WhatsApp. He explains everything in simple, easy-to-understand steps, which made learning much easier. Thanks to his guidance, I passed my driving test first time with only 3 minors! 🚗👏 Would definitely recommend him to anyone learning to drive!

My driving instructor was Andrew Sutton not only an amazing driving instructor but also a very good person. He not only teach you how to pass a test like most instructors he teaches you how to drive. Takes you all around. Is very easy to talk to and makes good convo. It was a very bitter sweet experience when I passed like I was happy but also abit sad that it ended. Ps… don’t call him a geordie. I highly recommend him.

12 days before her driving test my daughter received a message from RED saying that her instructor is no longer working for them and to call them so they can arrange cover. My daughter called the following morning and was told there was no instructor available. Feeling that she had been fobbed off I contacted Red who then told me my daughter hadn't had a lesson with this particular instructor since September 2025. She had and was paying him in cash . By my calculation well over 2k. When I raised this I was told my daughter should never have paid in cash , it's in their t's & c's! (For driving lessons..) What 17/18yr old would read terms and conditions for driving lessons?I wouldn't have. I escalated this to a complaint and Jess did try to help but unfortunately could not. Taking a driving test is stressful enough at any age and I urge anyone to favour an independent who does not treat their profession as a numbers game. The instructor may of had a valid reason to leave Red but they should try harder to help people learning under their banner and not try and wriggle out as in this case. I think this is very poor and lacks the empathy you would receive from a smaller company. They are nationwide and can't find cover because she is learning in an automatic vehicle.

I passed thanks to having a very patient and professional instructor, Ahmed Kahn in Reading.
The RED website is very straight forward and easy to navigate. Cant fault it

My Oxford based ADI Shalena Rahman (Shelly), was the best instructor I’ve had after have many issues with other instructors. Shelly is very patient, extremely kind and guides you through all your lessons whilst always reassuring you. Easily she is the best instructor in Oxford. Thank you Shelly.

Aaron Jones is an excellent driving instructor and I would highly recommend him to anyone learning to drive in Cambridge. His lessons were always well structured and purposeful, and he consistently made sure that I was progressing and building on what I had learned.

As I became more confident, Aaron was also very flexible in adapting lessons to the areas I personally felt needed further work. He explained everything with great clarity, always taking the time to answer my questions thoroughly and helping me understand the right course of action across a wide range of different driving scenarios.

Throughout, Aaron was extremely affable, patient and easy to get along with, which created a relaxed and positive learning environment while still keeping the lessons focused and productive. He supported me brilliantly throughout the whole process and ultimately helped bring me to the point of passing my driving test.

A brilliant instructor, and an easy five stars.

So happy!! I am a more mature learner only learning to drive at 42. I did an intensive driving course with Laily Alkozai over 2 weeks and started as an absolute beginner - incredibly nervous with no confidence at all. By the end I felt so much more confident on the road and ended up passing my test yesterday 17 September with just one minor! I think doing an intensive driving course really helped with this. Thank you Laily!

My wife passed her practical at Westwickham test centre last week. All credits go to Alaa Kosheta. He was very nice and calm. My wife praise him after every lesson the way he explains things. I couldn’t thank him enough for all the help. I would recommend Alaa to everyone.

I am very happy to have passed my test with only one minor fault, my lessons with Roger Page made such a difference to my driving ability and confidence. He was always patient with me and showed an in-depth knowledge of the DVSA rules. Booking and changing lesson dates was strait forward and quick. Never had any issues.

Patient instructor who lets u learn at ur own pace, allowing u to develop confidence on the road and a safe driving style. Really recommend going with Adiba as she helped me pass my test first time!

Sam Thacker from Nuneaton..What a guy!

I was in a car accident a few years prior to starting with Sam, so my anxiety was through the roof! But Sam picked up on it almost immediately and helped me face my fears of driving straight on!

He never let me give up even when I wanted to! He had faith in me when I didn’t have faith in myself and thanks to the faith, encouragement and extreme level of patience Sam had with me he got me through to my test which I passed today!

I will always be grateful for being able to learn with someone like Sam so thank you for everything! I couldn’t recommend anyone better!

Adam Standage was a really great instructor in Sheffield. He always explained everything with easy to understand analogies and was very supportive even on days where I struggled.

Arron Hunt was great at explaining things and in general a nice guy. Many thanks for helping me pass

After an awful start with my first instructor, I swapped and met the amazing Laura Macaulay! Very patient and understanding! Great with nervous people. I passed first time.

A big thank you to Asif khan! When I first started my lessons I had no driving experience whatsoever, Asif was very patient and allowed me to learn at a speed I was comfortable with even though we were on a timeline for a test I had booked. Asif believed in me and my driving abilities even as we got close to my test and I doubted myself. This allowed me to pass first time with only a few driving faults. I couldn’t thank you enough!

A massive thanks to Paul, South West London, for his support over the years. An excellent instructor preparing me not just for passing my test but how to be a great driver too. Would highly recommend!

I had a great experience with RED.
My instructors Sarah and Stacey where brilliant, pointing out mistakes in my driving, leading me to pass my test first time!
