This company was trying to charge me another $600 for insurance and rental deposit. I already paid for insurance and they wouldn't listen. I never ended up getting the car that I already paid for and I ended up having to pay for transportation repeatedly on my trip. Overall this company cost me hundreds of dollars and caused lots of stress! If I could give no stars I would have but you have to give at least 1. I will never rent from this company again!

I could not be happier with the service and hospitality I received from Rent-A-Wreck in Reno. They were the only company that had a 15 passenger van available during the dates I needed one. To make things more challenging for them, my flight arrived after their office was closed but Jerry accommodated my request to leave the rental at a safe location ready for me to pick up. All I had to do was take an Uber to it (small compromise I was okay with). The vehicle was clean and in great condition. All in all, I will definitely use this company again next year when I come to Reno.

The car was very nice as were the people. I would definitely do it again without hesitation for the price.

Rented in Mexico with a big liability surprise. This has and continues to be a hidden fee in Mexico. I wasn’t the only renter in the office who was placed in a situation.
I had rented though Orbitz which had liability insurance along with the rental.
But was told it wasn’t enough and had to purchase the required Mexican liability insurance at the time of rental. New to me.
Both priceless car rental and Orbitz pointed the finger at each other. Both said they had no control over what happens and is advertised in another country.
That’s total BS. They have contracted with each other to sell and have sold these rental cars. They both know very well what the regulations are. If they don’t they should so they can tell their consumer what is required.
This is a huge revenue earner at $50 a day for the Mexican rental companies.
Shame on you for cheating your customers and leaving them stuck with no other alternative.

Friendly customer service with no hidden fees

Pricing through Expedia reservation did not mention insurance required in Costa Rica. I bought the $11/day insurance from Expedia - which I hope to get refunded - that was not adequate. $1/day rental turned into $35/day plus a $500 hold on my credit card released upon returning the car.

In house customer service agent was great! Adding an extra day to my reservation was easy and painless. Thank you!

First car rental we had a Kia Rio that could barely drive straight. My girlfriend and I came to the surprise of little critters(cockroaches) crawling all over the dash and middle glove compartments. We spent over two hours spending our first night in Puerto Rico trying to get a car swap. Come to find out the couple in front of us also came for that same reason not once but twice during the day. Never in my life have I seen something like that ever. Something needs to be done.
Wasted the day before my birthday trying to get a new rental, while it also coming out to a way higher cost than it should've. The only positives were the workers being patient and understanding, but we still wasted a whole day of our trip. Wish we could’ve at the very least got part of the rental cost off.

The price had a catch that wasn't mentioned on the website, from a rate that I had around $60.00, I ended up paying more than $200.00

The owner was very friendly and flexible with my schedule. My only complaint is that he charged a $10 vacuum penalty upon my return for a few crumbs on the mat.

They deal with a third party that does not honor the terms and conditions listed by rent-a-wreck. I was asked to pay between 300$ and 500$ USD more for insurance coverages. No other rental company in Costa Rica has forced me to take out insurance other than third party liability (which is supposed to be included in the price you pay through rent-a-wreck. I chose this company because the deposit was supposed to be of 250$ maximum (again, as per the terms and conditions of Rent-a-Wreck). However, the third party was asking for 500$ up to 3000$. Be aware that the price quoted on this website is not what you will end up paying. Do not pay in advance if you wish to complete a reservation.

This company is so bad. They quote $30/day but the required charges end up being $80/day. Their practices are borderline unethical. The customer experience is dismal so you might as well go ahead and pay for Enterprise.

I will definitely rent a wreck again! I had a great experience with them. Great customer service.
